Not even worthy of one star! As a previous person stated, I scheduled an inspection and the day came, no one showed up. I called and was told that there was a request for the scheduled date, but I had to hear back from the local branch, which is Salinas. I missed work waiting for someone to show up and no one ever did. The person I spoke to said that they can schedule for the following week. This is terrible customer service and a waste of time. What got me more upset is that the excuse they gave me was so lame. The first time I called, a lazy sounding female took my call and said that I was SET for Wednesday from 9-11 am. If I could give negative stars I would. They miss appointments without informing you and DAMAGE PROPERTY without repairing it and it doesn't just happen once. It's happened more than 4 times which wastes our time as someone has to be present during the inspection. We also purchased a warranty from Terminix but it seems that we are still going to be charged for an inspection that is supposed to be covered. And no matter how many times I try to get in contact with someone who can help me resolve my issues, I'm always told that someone "will call me." It's been over a week. I just keep getting passed around and told that my complaint is being sent up the "chain of command." Never will I use this company again. Find a local pest control company and you will be so much better off. read more

Scheduled an appointment online with Terminix for Saturday (13 May). It was verified and said I had to be home for the appointment to work. Scheduled time of arrival was between 10am and noon. At 12:05, I called Terminix and asked why they weren't yet here and had not called. They said they had no record of the appointment in spite of my having an email confirmation. They said someone would call on Monday but would give me no name or number of a person in case they do not call. Pretty crappy service, and pretty crappy attitude about missing the appointment. Does anyone know of a reputable and reliable exterminator in Monterey area? read more

We had a rodent issue and called Terminix after comparing prices w/ Orkin. Our pest control agent Rudy came by on the same day. Rudy was very nice and very professional. He could tell their habits and points of entry. He helped us dispose of one poor creature we had caught and set traps for any others. He was even nice to our dogs who escaped their corral at one point. As long as Rudy is on the team in Salinas, I would highly recommend Terminix. read more

If you have rats or mice stay 10 thousand miles away from this place like the devil himself was chasing you. They seal your house and leave mice inside to crawl on your counters and beg for food. Usually we get traps emptied the same day. We needed it urgently in the kitchen. Terminex didn't come out during the weekend or even keep their appointment on Monday. The traps didn't work for several weeks until I moved them myself to new places. Wish I read newer reviews before signing up to a worthless thousand buck contract. read more

We have received such terrible service from the Salinas branch location. We paid to be ongoing subscribers. We thought this sounded like a good deal, since we thought we were dealing with a reputable company and we would have ongoing protection. It has been nothing but a disaster from the start. The first technician did some damage to our ceiling. His report was not filled out properly so the technician who came to treat the house didn't know where to go. We told them where to treat, but he didn't for whatever reason. We called back for yearly inspection and were told that you wouldn't treat certain areas because they weren't treated before, even though we insisted that they be treated. You don't stand up to your promised level of service, not have you treated us as paying customers. The techs have spoken down to me and my wife and we've had enough. We have multiple opportunities for you to keep our business, but enough is enough. I am VERY dissatisfied and disappointed with the treatment and communication from terminex. Please refund all money as your guarantee allows. We hope you at least honor that guarantee. read more

This business doesn't return calls in a timely manner, sometimes not at all. I had to deal with letting them on my property so that my neighbor could fumigate, which involved me going to expense for temporary dog fencing and time erecting it, plus being home to manage the dogs. This also involved a total of four different days to allow their inspection of my property, and to place and remove their tent, most of the time not knowing when they would show up. They will say anything in order to get the compliance they want, but don't rely on them, they don't keep their word. On the final day, tent removal day, they arrived without calling and immediately tried to pry the locked gate open. Fortunately I heard their truck outside and was able to stop them before they broke their way in. They had been told repeatedly about the dogs. They apologize all the time, but what good is that? read more

I am disappointing with the improper use of chemicals during the time my neighbor had her house sprayed for fleas. Terminix was hired to spray the inside of my neighbors condo. Upon leaving, the employee of Terminix sprayed the plants along the walkway out to the work vehicle. Work should be limited to the request and not spray should not be used for any other reason. My cat has his drinking bowl just below where the spray was administered. We live in a condo and the communal space is shared. I do not want to have our shared space sprayed without permission. read more

My experience with Terminix was very frustrating. I had a serious rat problem, including a rat crawling on a guest. My husband was in the hospital so I was desperate and other pest control people weren't responding when I called Terminix. They came out quickly so, although I was shocked that they were going to charge me almost $3,000, I agreed. They came out the next day and did the work. They warned me that it could take several days for all the rats to go away because now some might be trapped inside. But after 8 days of catching about 3 rats a day in traps the rats moved from downstairs to my upstairs kitchen. My husband was home from the hospital and found some holes they hadn't filled so I called my contact with Terminix to ask them to return to fill the additional holes. I talked to him twice to clarify what I wanted. Then I never heard from him again and no one came. I continued to call my contact in my local branch in Salinas, CA for 3 days. When no one returned my calls I started calling the national line every day for 3 more days. I was assured that they sent my messages to Salinas. The last day I was told the Salinas office would call within two hours and be out here that day. I didn't hear from them so I called my credit card company to dispute the payment, since they advertise 100% satisfaction guarantee. I will never do business with Terminix again and don't recommend them to others. read more

HORRIBLE customer service. We paid $3,200 to rat proof our house and garage. We were told that since we had good credit we could take 6 months to pay, interest free. That was the first lie! We were billed at 18% interest! We have also lost over $400 in food to the rats. They have come out 5 times to fix the problem, to no avail. In fact, on Sunday, my cat found a young rat in the kitchen that came from behind the dishwasher. I called the main number and was told I would get my money back. On Monday, Scott Nash called and said I would have a check on Friday. Today is Friday and I have no check. Whenever I try to reach Salinas mgr Scott Nash, his mailbox is always full, not that it would matter since he never returns calls anyway. Since they claim "Satisfaction guaranteed or your money back", I thought it would be no problem. However, after MONTHS of 20+ calls a month, we have been ignored. In fact, I am typing this while I am on hold w/Terminix. So far, the hold has been over 1 hour. I would NEVER recommend Terminix to anyone! Beware! Save your money and buy some rat traps! Wow, I just got hung up on after being on hold over an hour!!! Enough of this noise, on Monday I will be filing a lawsuit against Terminix for a return of all of our money, lost food costs, interest and housecleaning costs (when they blew the poisonous dust in our attic, the hose had a tear and we had measurable amounts of dust on all of the furniture)! Signed up for recurring service. Initial visit went fine except I woke up early because the visit was supposed to be first thing in the AM. After the window closed, I called and the automated system said my appointment was for later in the day. Ok...no big deal. After about a month we had a few ants and spiders so I called for a re-visit (free/part of the maintenance program). Rushed home after work for the appointment window. Appointment window closed and still no one. I called and the automated system indicated the person had already completed the visit. Nope, no one ever showed up. I spoke to someone and they read the notes. The tech said he was there for 5 minutes and did nothing. Problem is, I was home the whole time...no one ever showed up. Anyhow, I was about to cancel but the sent a different tech out a few days later. He was very professional and thorough . I decided I would not cancel. Now my quarterly visit is due. The date has been set for months. I received an email and call reminding me of the day and time (8AM-10AM) on Saturday. I get out of bed, get dressed, eat, etc... No one shows up. I call and guess what? The phone system indicates my appointment is later in the day. Someone had changed my appointment again...and no one told me. That was the final straw. I have wasted enough of my time waiting for nothing. read more

We signed up for their Termite Protection Plan and for two years had inspectors coming out to inspect our home for termites. They would treat some of the wood and leave saying everything was ok. Then last fall, the eves of the roof were showing signs of dry rot and we paid them to fix them. The first sign of trouble was when we still saw dry rot in one of the eves that was supposed to have been fixed. We called the number (which doesn't allow you to talk directly with the Salinas office) and they said they'd send someone out. Nothing! Then I called for the yearly termite inspection, they said they'd send someone out. A month went by and I called again. Finally, I got an appointment. In the meantime we decided to sell our house and when the inspections came back, imagine my surprise when they found nearly $9,000. in termite damage. The Terminix inspector came (finally). I have to say I respect him, he saw the termite report and saw the damage and said that legally, they would have to do something because we have the Termite Inspection Plan. (It guarantees all repairs) I have been calling them for three weeks with no reply. The first call was answered by the Service Manager, and then nothing after that. Everytime I call I leave a voice message and no answer. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau and now Yelp. Please, do not trust your home to these people!! read more
