First agent who came to my house and told me that he couldn't do anything about moths. The ants did slow down, so I kept my second appointment. That was a waste of money and critical mistake. Second agent came to my home and followed none of my instructions. Sprayed exactly where I told them not to. This resulted in the loss of my honeybee hives as the areas I didn't want sprayed were high traffic bee areas. Agent came specifically for ants, had no ant traps. Gave me some kind of chemical in a vial instead, with no real instruction on how to use it. Backyard covered in conspicuous vole damage. Agent told me he could find no evidence of voles. This company has to be one of the most inept and incapable pest control companies out there. Of course, when I refused to pay the bill, was hounded to death daily until I paid it. I will NEVER do business with this company again. They are an embarrassment to their profession. read more

First of all I found out I had carpenter ants after I purchased service from Terminex. They said it was termites, it was not. I purchased the termite & general pest control (neither service covers carpenter ants, even though they said it would kill both termites & carpenter ants, if in fact they were carpenter ants). Lies, lies, lies. There technicians use bug spray in an aerosol can to do interior and some of the outside windows. They do not do spray around the perimeter of your house or spray the outside of your house. I paid $100 on carpenter ants spray from Amazon and treated my own house but I'm stuck in this contract and I have giant spiders coming in the house (I wonder why). They don't call you back. Corporate doesn't call you back. This place is a fraud. Avoid at all cost. They must have some bad habits that cause them to be broke, or just shady & greedy. I accepted that I was conned into contract with lies, but they could at least provide the services I'm paying for and keep the bugs they do cover out of my house. read more

I've rented my home for 8 years and my Landlord had the same company do pest control - every quarter. The Terminix Man has been pretty standard which is nice having the same person each visit but I always had bugs like spiders, centipedes, millipedes, etc, and dead flies near the window. In 2020 we got a new Terminix exterminator man and i think his name is Randy or Martin. Anyway, since he has been doing the spraying there has not been any spiders, centipedes, or millipedes, in fact, the first time he came he cleaned up the cobwebs in my basement ( and honestly it did need to be done). He is a wonderful worker. I don't know what he is doing differently than the first worker but the overall quality in my home has greatly improved. read more

I hired Terminix of lancaster to help my parents with removing bats from their home. The inspector sent out a man named John, who was very nice, and he took the time to explain what he was doing to fix the bat problem. The crew sealed my parents' home using a clear caulk that we couldn't even see when they finished. I have to say that they exceeded all my expectations, and I would highly recommend them for their professional experience in completing the bat work. read more

Terminix - For over two weeks, I've been trying to get someone to call me back. 4 calls to who I understood to be our service manager, 2 calls to customer service to supposedly escalate my request to additional managers, a call to our technician....None of those calls have been acknowledged. The technician did initially respond to a text (which I appreciated), but if you paid a company A LOT for a service, wouldn't you expect the company to return your calls? Tech was given clear instructions, marked off services that weren't performed and completely ignored our instructions! They say they work around your schedule but that's another lie! I work nights and they scheduled to be here 8 am without ever talking to anyone. Youd be better off with literally any other company. Probably even DIY. read more

Don't worry though, if you call them out on it, they will put you on hold for 30 minutes while they try to refund the money! As Miss S ( I'll leave out her name because no need to make it so personal ;) ) said, "we're all human right? We make mistakes. What do you want me to do" Probably not CHARGE MY CARD WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION, not even going to send me a receipt?! And no ms. This is a revised review. My main concern was the way I was treated when I called to inquire as to the lateness of the service. The Terminix exterminator was to come between 8:AM and noon. I called at noon. I was kept me on the line for over 30 minutes twice with a third time being transferred to another department despite my protestations. The exterminator arrived at 2:30 PM. He was very professional and address my property's problem with yellow jackets and wasps. It remains to be seen the result but I'm glad he mitigated my initial dissatisfaction. read more

If I could give this company a 0 star review I would. This company is extremely deceptive in their business practices. We were promised that a Termite treatment is always effective for 10 to 12 years, and that they guarantee their work. We were not told that the guarantee is only valid for 1 year, and then you must continue to pay them almost $250 per year just to 'keep your account active,' even if you don't need their services at all! If you don't pay them $250 per year, then you have to pay the full cost of approximately $1400 to have your house retreated from scratch! Even if you only need a spot treatment! They mistakenly canceled our account early, never scheduled a follow up inspection and only provided one when we called 2 years later to complain that we had found more termites. They only responded to our complaints because we reached out to the BBB. Even their response to the BBB complaint is deceptive. They indicate they gave us a "Free inspection," but they neglect to mention that they always do their initial inspections for free. This was not offered to us as gratuity, this is their normal practice in order to 'rope clients in'. The reality is that their guarantee only actually lasts 1 year, but they claim their treatments are good for 12 years. So if you don't read the fine print, you assume they are guaranteeing their treatment is going to work because they tell you it will work. We were told multiple times by the sales person that he's NEVER had to send someone back to retreat a property because their treatments work so well. After the termites returned the story changed completely. Instead of wild promises about how their treatments definitely work for 12 years and that they've "never had a customer who needed a second treatment," they are now telling us that termite treatments rarely work and almost always need continued yearly maintenance. We chose not to renew our contract with this company because we already hired and paid Orkin to do a 'spot' treatment for $1,000 dollars LESS than Terminix was going to charge us to have the house completely retreated. I'm fairly certain they know that termites won't usually be visible again for over a year, and that they give you a 1 year guarantee because they realize that it's basically worthless anyway. Then you're stuck either paying their company a crazy maintenance fee every year, or, if you believed their lies about how well the treatments will work, you'll be stuck repaying $1400 to start over from scratch. I know I'm not the only one who finds this incredibly deceptive. I suppose you can't call it illegal because shoddy sales practices like this still aren't considered 'illegal', but I would hope that other potential customers will at least see this so they know what they are getting into, because Terminix is NOT going to be honest with you about their services, the likelihood of their treatment actually working, or their useless guarantees. read more

We paid $2,000 11 months ago as our Terminex home pest inspector stated we had termites. We have a Cedar house, so we knew this had to be taken care of. They put about 8 bait traps down. They were put in in correctly, so we called them, they came back and corrected. The bait traps have always had termite activity for the past 11 months. They are still filled with termites. Terminex is stating that they have no control of new termites. They are now telling me I have to pay $356 to renew service, it is an annual fee. We have spoken to at least 15 people regarding this. Spent hours on the phone and on hold. Terminex does not get rid of termites! Do not use them. I am working with the Better Business Bureau now. We have had Terminex inside pest control for the past 22 years. Will never use them again. read more

PLEASE READ THIS.DO NOT USE TERMIINIX. I hope people will catch wind of this review so they don't have to go through what we did. I've done a lot of research and this happens to quite a few of terminix customers. They deserve a zero. I hired them for termite treatment for my single family home. After paying $1600 I received no copy of contract when signing nor did I receive one after asking for one weeks later(I later found article on attorney general lawsuit against terminix for this very thing). Never showed up on time(not even the same day) even when I requested to be home to see what actions they were performing. They were very unclear about how they were gonna solve my problem. Once they got the money it was like we didn't matter. Of course they tried to sneak in a $350 renewal fee that I didn't want and had to fight tooth and nail to get that money back. On top of all this a year after hiring terminix I rechecked the problem areas in the house to find the termites were alive, multiplied and still eating my wood flooring in the kitchen. I'm not sure if terminix did anything but according to another pest control company I spoke to, the process they used to treat for termites was "completely incorrect". TERMINIX deserves a zero across the board, unfortunately that's all I can give them along with a honest review, but what they really deserve is to go out of business and suck an egg. read more

I hate bugs. My Terminix guy sprays inside EVERYtime as well as out for me. Their mosquito option is too expensive, but I'm happy for the results of the regular pest control. Don't put your plan on auto pay, and you won't have an issue. read more

Had Terminix to our house first for rats in our yard. We were pretty shocked and sad to hear we also had active carpenter ants and termites. The rep said we had termites and carpenter ants, in addition to large furry pests that we initially called them about. Just to start treatment was more than $1,000. Rep was friendly and seemed to know his stuff. Perry Pest Control came out two days later for a second opinion. We didn't tell that rep about the termites and carpenter ants. That rep found the ant and termite damage, and immediately said that it was very old, most likely treated damage. Then he show us the marks on our sidewalk indicating there had been termite treatment in the past. Can only surmise that the Terminix rep knows what ant and termite damage looks like, but doesn't know what treatment for such looks like. Feel like he tried to rip us off, which I sort of expected from a national company. Disappointed. Recommend going with local, small pest control companies rather than national chains. read more

I have had terminix contracts since moving into my house. Initially because we had termites which took them more than a year to eliminate. Then regular treatments for years. More than a year ago our house was invaded by tiny ants. Not only have they not been able to eliminate the issue after more than a year they continued to charge me for the visits. Only after i complained loudly about the fact that I have not been able to store food in my kitchen for more than a year. did they escalate the treatments briefly and wipe the charges briefly. They stopped coming out to follow up, did not schedule for more treatments, and when I called was told they wanted to wait a bit longer for the next phase, of treating between the walls. Months went by and nothing so again another angry call and mentioning of cancelling of contracts since they seem unwilling or unable to finish the job. This resulted in one round of phone tag, and then nothing for a few more weeks. Called again and now they are not going to treat between the wall because I expressed concern over the age of the home and not knowing what is behind the walls. They used this as an excuse to not do that step even though the promised the service. They are the professionals after all, and should know how to deal with 200+ year old homes that may have hidden hazards. I just felt it needed pointed out. So now i am getting harassed about outstanding bills from them again, still have no food stored in my kitchen that is not in airtight containers, and they will not put the treatment between the walls as promised, they will only treat behind surfaces like the counter backsplash and appliances. Additionally I now need to wait further until they can find time to come out if they even do. Sad service and has left me with over the counter bait traps and poisons they place all over my kitchen. This has been beyond stressful and very aggravating. I am very angry and even more grossed out at the ongoing issues that have been left unresolved and their demands to be paid for something they have yet to resolve in good faith. read more
