Now usually when recruitment agencies call you up they just want to get you on the books and a lot of the time you wont hear from them again. But Adecco were great, I literally went in did a quick computer test and they sent me on my way to my new temp job which i started the next day. The only think I found annoying was that you had to fax your time sheet instead of emailing it but maybe that has changed now. Highly recommended if you are looking for a job.

I've got such a nice boss in the city and my temporary employers have just been so helpful in trying to keep me employed around some long holidays that I've got coming up. Spring and my boss were very good at letting me have a day off for a competition prize that I've won. I had a lovely surprise when Sue Perry from Spring turned up at my workplace and presented me with my 'Temp of The Month' certificate. I've won this prize through other agencies but this was presented so much more nicely and I look forward to seeing my picture in a newsletter. Although I thought the voucher I won could have been for a higher value if I'm being honest. It's nice dealing with Sue and a sensible middle-aged woman for a change. I know I'm being paid less than some of the other Spring temps as I've seen the invoices come through the postroom where I work. However after visiting over 100 different countries, including Australia 11 times and having my flat and world cruises bought for me I'm not too bothered! These days one really gets a broom shoved up one's arse working the postroom no matter who the employer is. Up to the mid-noughties there used to be about 5 of you in a small postroom tripping over each other but these days you're on your own. I've had some variety in my role helping out the facilities department and reception. Yes I've been very lucky with this Spring Personnel temporary job and I used to work through them at different branches between 1999 and 2006. Excellent!

COREcruitment specialises in hospitality and the service industry, however they do sometimes get roles outside of that area. And that is how I come to them. They are professional! And unlike most agencies in London, you will not get harassed every 10 minutes! And it was safe to give them my references! Some agency harass my references which is why I never give out reference phone numbers. I didn't have this problem with them. They do have a large list of roles to fill. It's worth giving them a shot!

When I called them, they then repeated that there were jobs for me, yet no interviews materialised and the return correspondence was lackluster. I left a position earlier than necessary because I was told Blue Arrow had good opportunities for me, if I would part with my details and join their database and that my financial expectation was fair. I will never set foot in Blue Arrow North Finchley again!

The staff are friendly and helpful and if you get thirsty or want a drink of water they have a water fountain. Based in the centre of Hammersmith, a minute from the underground station, it is within easy reach plus loads of buses stop right outside there. They have office support work, Admin, secretarial and PA work.

I'm quite sure there will be a despondent troop of ex-Woolies employees turfed out of the Bethnal Green branch marching with solidarity to their local employment agency or nearby soup kitchen to get a spoonful of harsh reality any day now. Now I've not actually been into this Job Centre but have been reliably informed it's good for manual/retail vacancies and has a fast turnaround time for one on one consultations. Jokes aside, it's dog eat dog out there at the moment, fellow brethren, and no-one is safe. Job Centres could become second homes for many more to follow. Merry Xmas!

When i arrived i was a little bit late (10min) and there was a lot of people waiting as you would expect so i didn't really matter in the end. I was surprised to only wait 20min honestly. I don't know how job centres work here but in France it would be a nightmare and a lot of waiting. The gentleman i had my appointment with was very efficient, professional and even friendly (an other surprise for the french i am haha). All was done in 20 min or less. Impressive. He reassured me regarding all the concerns and questions i had which is appreciated. A very good experience.
