Temperley is one of my favourite fantasy fashion brands. What I mean by this is, if I were to have the money and lifestyle to have a collection by a designer, it would by Alice Temperley.
I think I loved her first seasons the most. The dresses all seemed to have been created in the soft glow of a Midsummer's morning in Somerset. The look was innocent, whimsical and dreamy. I loved the fabrics used; lace, chiffon, to name a few. Everything was delicate, conjuring up the image that you could wear a £1,000 dress whilst running barefoot through a field.
Now the look is slightly edgier and sophisticated, but I still like to come in to Temperley to see what is new. Right now one of the looks is Military Chic. You walk into the showroom to see models staring you down clad in strong and sexy outfits and military coats, topped off with jaunty sailors caps.
The show room is tucked away in Notting Hill, you have to walk down a tiny little mews back street to get to it. Do make the trip if you are in the area. I guarantee that you will come out if not with a purchase, but a fantasy in your head of what you would have brought if money were no object. read more
