I'm not gonna spill all the details or name names (except for one person, she earned it), but let's just say the school said they'd take it "seriously." Spoiler alert: they didn't. They suspended the wrong kid. Literally punished someone who didn't do anything while the actual problem just got swept under the rug. And now the cherry on top: their "leadership" program. It sounds cute until you're actually in it. It's run by this one teacher -- yeah, I'm name-dropping -- Mrs. Saunders. We were cutting skeletons for an activity, and she starts screaming at this kid in class. Straight up yelling in front of everyone. I went over to ask him if he was okay, but I could tell he didn't feel like talking. Later, he told me he has motor skill issues and struggles with cutting. And instead of helping him, Mrs. Saunders made him clean everything up like he did something wrong. She told him it was "the least he could do. This place is a mess. It's a dumpster fire. No support. No action. Just fake promises and teachers who snap instead of support. If you're thinking about coming here -- don't. CFIS, you need to get it together.

Over the years, I've personally known several families who have left the school. I believe the school has potential, but the administration has LOTS of room for improvement. Concerns are often dismissed or not addressed in a timely or effective manner. If you're considering the school, I recommend asking about teacher retention. There seems to be frequent turnover, and some teachers appear to have limited experience. While there are certainly excellent teachers, many don't stay long enough to provide consistency for students. I'd also ask about class sizes and classroom management. Although the website has historically advertised smaller classes, our experience was closer to 22 students per class. Managing that many young children can be challenging, and there were times when classroom behavior made it difficult for students to focus and learn. Academically, I did not feel the education met my expectations for the tuition cost. I know several families who felt they needed to supplement learning at home to keep their children on track. If class sizes have increased, I believe the school's website should accurately reflect that so prospective families can make informed decisions. At over $11,000 per year per child, I expected a higher level of academic rigor, classroom support, and administrative responsiveness. Throughout the school year, my son was repeatedly called the N-word by multiple students and was physically assaulted on more than one occasion. As of July 17, 2026, I have not been informed of any disciplinary consequences for the students involved. From my perspective, the administration did not have an effective plan for responding to repeated incidents of racial harassment and bullying. After the first incident, the principal looked me in the eye and assured me that she would investigate. I later received one communication stating that she needed to speak with the teacher and the teacher's union representative. After that, I received no further updates regarding the investigation or its outcome. I also did not receive any communication after the subsequent incidents in which my son was again called the N-word. In my experience, the administration failed to protect my child from ongoing racial harassment and bullying. Instead of feeling that my concerns were being addressed, I felt that my son was increasingly viewed as the problem rather than the victim. To parents of color in Lake Elsinore: I encourage you to research each school carefully before making an enrollment decision. My experience has shown me that responses to racial harassment and bullying can vary from school to school within the district. I hope every family finds a school that takes these incidents seriously and provides a safe, supportive environment for all students.

I sent at least 20 emails with concerns to principal and vice principal and never got any response back unless I physically walked into to office. Multiple issues with the school nurse not giving my children their medication when it was required by doctor. They even confiscated one of my kids inhalers and told him he was not allowed to carry any medication, that it had to be left with the school nurse. So basically, if my child was having an asthma attack they had to run to the office and ask the nurse for their inhaler. Which she would then have to log into her computer to verify that they were allowed to use it. All while having an asthma attack. Eventually I was told this nurse was fired. Six months later she was back working at the school. There was plenty more incidents that the school never did anything about.​

Anyway, I wanted to say that my daughter has had a great experience attending RSM. Sure every school has it's positives and negatives, but Yelp is not the spot to rant and rave about a bad teacher they may have had or an incident where a student got in trouble with the Principal. It is about the overall experience and RSM overall left us with many positive experiences. One thing that I really like is that the school has a great communication system. I like their weekly Roadrunner express emails letting me know all of the school information of what's to be expected that is coming up, currently happening, contact information and just general information. They also send out phone calls and email reminders on early dismissal reminders, holiday schedules, state testing and large school events, so that parents can be extra prepared. It's nice that they almost "over remind" you, just in case you forget as life gets quite busy for many parents with things pulling you in many directions, which seems to be the case these days. I also like the fact that she has made many friends from different schools since I believe that RSM is a culmination of students from Robinson, Trabuco, Cielo Vista, Melinda Heights, Foothill Ranch, and Trabuco Mesa. She will hopefully carry many of these new friendships she has made over onto her four years of high school and onward. It's always good to increase your elementary school circle of friends with new faces. Yes, not every school is for everyone and RSM is definitely not perfect by any means, but I say don't knock it until you try it. Mr. Bjorek, Ms. Gibson, and Mr. Morgan are great Principals and work hard to try and make RSM Intermediate a great place for the students.

This a school set up for motivated students and looks to cater to those who would take the oportunity to succeed in both high school and college level course for minimal costs.
