I want to know exactly what I'm going to get before I arrive. The Ramada offers just that. Check-in was quick and easy and there is plenty of parking. My room was situated just above the lobby and I was worried that would make it loud at night but there were no problems. It was actually a bit more spacious than most standard rooms I've stayed in. While it didn't have a full kitchenette, it was nice having a bar fridge, microwave, and sink in the room. The only issue I had was that the wi-fi signal in my room was quite weak. The exercise facility at this hotel is exceptional. Most hotels offer 2-3 cardio machines, and maybe some free weights if you've lucky. However, this one had 5 cardio options, weight machines, free weights, and mats for guest use. Very impressed. I was also happy that the pool area had both a hot tub and a steam room, both of which were a nice way to relax before bed. Options for hotels in Brooks are pretty limited but at least you can rely on the Ramada for quality service.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The elevator smelled funny but that was easy to get past since you aren't in there long. And the continental breakfast was as you would expect. The rooms were clean and comfortable with no major issues. I love that they offer a variety of different pillows and I didn't have any trouble getting to sleep. The only real disappointment was that the waterslide in the pool area wasn't turned on. We probably could have asked about it at the front desk but it wasn't a huge deal. At least the hot tub was working! We definitely took advantage of that! Before checking out, I sat down for their continental breakfast. It was pretty standard fare (bagels, toast, cereal). The room was basic, but clean and comfortable, so I was happy. On site there was a large pool and even a working sauna, so I treated myself. You probably won't find another motel in the area for less and even if you did, I doubt it will be as good as Plains Motel.

We were a bit late than we anticipated and drove in to the next door HI. Were directed to the next door property. The check in quick. This property is definitely dated than its property next door. Was evident from the lobby itself. Now, Brooks being a cattle town, they had lots sellers of cattle in town with their cattle. The air outside the hotel and generally in Brooks had a strong aroma of dung and perhaps cattle as well. The rooms were. It impressive. The room small and dark and not furnished properly. The AC was noisy. The beds not comfortable and bathroom in not a state where expected it to be. Glad we slept for one night. Came in late and left very early. As we stepped out of our room the next morning the stench was unbearable in the lobby, the hallway, the check in area - everywhere. The ladies were about to throw up. Quite honestly we were too. Too much to bear. Informed the front desk and they said there was this cattle thing. Avoid town, if at all possible specially if something similar is happening. Us city folks were about to die!
