I like the relaxed atmosphere of the business and I didn't feel like anyone was just trying to get my money. Tyler believe it or not gave me the impression he wouldn't sell me a bike unless it was the "one" and he definitely found it for me. Financing was enjoyable I don't even know when it has ever been but it was. I got a great price and a fantastic deal. I wish there were more stars to give. So, I've heard of teds many times. Seeing as them and Green Mount are the only HD dealers in the area. I called and asked if they would be interested in my bike to purchase. I took it up there, they then had a mechanic look at it. I knew there were issues with it. And told the salesperson about them. The mechanic then gave a list of what was wrong to the sales person. Now, out of all the things that they said was wrong. They tried telling me the top of the heads needed resealed because they were "leaking" the front had condensation on. And the guy shinned his light on it and said it was leaking. Which was bs. The sales person then said okay we have an offer. However it needs $1800 worth of work done to it. They tried telling me tires alone for the bike was $1,000. When I got home I looked up the exact set that was on the bike. For $499 for the set. So after me not being able to get them to budge, I took the bike and later that week went to Green Mount Road HD. They offered a comfortable price. With NO added cost for repairs. Moral of the story, stay far away from teds. The salesperson was acting like I was a burden to his time because they were shooting promo videos for their Facebook. Do yourself a favor and go to a reputable HD dealership and not this shade tree place. If business is bad enough where you need to do promo videos to get customers to come in. You need to reevaluate your business ideals. read more

CAUTION. I called Ted's Honda to find out if they had the special tool necessary to program the chip in two new spare ignition keys I had purchased. The special tool is a simple two wire harness resembling a jumper cable. After all, there would be no point riding ~30 miles to their shop if they didn't have the tool for the job. My first contact happened to be someone that was later described as their senior technician. He wasn't familiar with the task and I was put on hold while he went to check for the harness. Eventually, someone else identifying as the service manager picked up the phone to pass along what the "senior technician" had discovered which amounted to less than nothing. They couldn't say if they had the special tool but spontaneously let me know what their labor rate was and suggested I ride the bike there and leave it "overnight" while they "researched" and studied the problem. This is an extraordinarily common and simple task which takes less than 10 minutes to accomplish per the service manual (which I own) and a task that any average biker could accomplish so long as they had the tool. It's a system used on all late model Honda Goldwings (et.al) and similar to the one in millions of Honda cars yet the senior technician and (non)-service manager at Ted's HONDA were utterly clueless about it. Despite this, the (non)-service manager was really eager to get the bike in the shop and was really up to speed on his labor rate which was ~$106 per hour if memory serves. What a load of hooey! Using the part number for the harness from my manual, I searched for it on the interwebs. Thankfully found it on EBay for $46 bucks. I'm grateful to have avoided the fledgling senior technician and treacherous (non)-service manager at Ted's read more

I made an offer on a bike they posted on craigslist. I drove over an hour to get there and made an offer at 7 pm exactly as they were closing. They said i would have to call with the offer in the morning...and turned off the showroom lights while we were in there leaving. I called Chuck at 9:30 am with an offer of only $300 less than the asking price. He said he would call me back shortly. 5 hours later, i called when i hadnt heard from him and had to leave a message. He called me back finally at 7 pm to tell me that another person had called about the bike and wanted to come look at it in a few days and might want to pay full price...so he would take $100 less or call me back if she didnt buy it to renegotiate. Really? over $200. Then...he apologized for not calling me back, he was so busy selling 8 other bikes he just never had the time. What a horrible way to treat your customers. Chuck, and Teds motorcycle world...you have lost a customer, make that 2 since my husband rides and is in the market for a new Harley himself. Earlier this year I purchased a pre-owned screamin eagle. I got a fair price for my FatBoy trade-in and a fair price on the screamin eagle. The people at Teds have always been nice and very helpful over the years. If they have what I am looking for they will always get my business. Recently I was on my way to teds for a service appointment and my throttle cable broke. I called Teds from the side of the road and they sent one of the guys with a trailer to help me. They did not ask if I bought the bike there of If I had roadside assistance they just came and took care of me, no charge I might add. I have never had a negative experience at this dealership and I have done a fair ammount of business with them over the years, and that includes parts-service-bike and clothing sales. I have been to most all the other dealerships in the area also over the years but never felt more welcome or appreciated than at Teds. I don't even visit the other dealerships anymore.
