My wife and I walked in and found an older woman who could barely look up from her work (writing in what appeared to be an appointment book). We explained that we were having a very small wedding in about a month (middle of the summer) and needed simple bouquets for the bride and matron of honor. If she looked annoyed before, at the mention of "small wedding" she looked disgusted. "We're too busy!" she snapped. And seemed to think that was that. I'm an older white guy who wears jeans and has a scruffy beard. My wife wears jeans and sneakers etc. I don't know what the old gal's problem was, but I felt like I was being looked upon like "white trash" and got the impression that she would have said "no" regardless of the date. I say that because I wanted to see how far she'd go after her dismissive behavior that had my fiance on the verge of tears (she did cry after we left) So I poked the bear... "What if we picked them up?" No. "What if you made them the day before and we picked them up?" No. "What if you made them two days before and we picked them up and refrigerated them?" No. "Can you recommend someone?" No. Whether we didn't want enough flowers to interest her, she didn't think we could afford them or she was just a townie sort of person who just didn't like talking to people she didn't sit next to in church, she was terrible. So we left. Fortunately, my married best friends have a beautiful garden. My wife and her matron of honor (the co-owner of the garden.. lol) are SUPER crafters! They went to Hobby Lobby for supplies after watching some YouTube videos. They had a fun time crafting the most beautiful bouquets for themselves the day before the wedding. As for this place, it's right up the street from us and we drive by at least twice a day. We frequently laugh and wave as we go by.. lol.. naturally we don't use all 5 fingers when we "wave". read more
