Living in the US and always on…read moresearch for German delis and grocery stores that sell German foods, they are usually pricey due to import taxes and often don't have all the products I was accustomed to getting growing up. So coming to Germany, we brought an extra suitcase and a budget to purchase a bunch of food to take home. Rewe is a large and very well organized (oh Germany!) grocery store. The aisles are easy to navigate, they have a large variety of products and the prices are so cheap! I love that I can get German jam for around 2 Euros instead of $6 in the US. If staying local for awhile, they have a great selection of fruits and veggies, there's a bakery/cafe area that has some great options for breakfast/lunch (that's around the time we were there) plus some great cakes. The line wasn't too bad to pay and the cashier was friendly. We probably annoyed everyone else who only had a few items compared to our very full cart! Even though we filled the suitcase we brought plus had to pack the rest of the food in our other luggage, we only spent half the money we budgeted!
