Dr. Ted Peña is amazing and completely professional! I began coming to him for adjustments. He's very thorough and takes x-rays and makes sure he is careful and informed on your body before he performs any type of adjustment/service on you (which I appreciated very much). It made me feel secure and I immediately knew I was with someone that knew what they were doing. I recently developed De Quervains tenosynovitis and he treated me with his Cool Light therapy as well as recommended icing, elevation and compression and I am all better thanks to his treatments and the recommendations. Dr. Ted is a miracle worker. Three days ago I woke up with a pinched nerve in my neck. I was in seeing Dr. Ted by the afternoon. My family and I have been seeing a Chiropractor since our oldest daughter was about 4 months old. She had digestion issues since birth that were always greatly improved by regular chiropractic adjustments. Starting 2 years ago I started developing debilitating lower back pain that eventually spread into hips and numbness down my legs. I had explained my issues several times to my previous chiropractor who didn't seem to take "I can't go more than 5 hours without motrin" too seriously. Desperate for relief and answers, I made an appointment with Dr. Peña. He took the time to listen and empathize with my chronic pain, while caring for a toddler no less. He took x-rays and thoroughly explained all of his findings using my x-rays, charts, and visual aids to make sure I understood what was happening to me. I grew up very skeptical of chiropractors and as a result I ask too many questions and demand thorough explanations of everything. Dr. Peña was patient and detailed in all of his answers. I was confident in his diagnosis and we began decompression treatments and multiple adjustments weekly. I noticed I was able to begin going a little bit longer between my OTC pain meds and after about a month of treatments, I was starting to go almost a full day. Dr. Peña advocates for total health, and with him I was able to figure out ways of preventing this pain from coming back. I joined an intense workout group that I was able to participate in and modify when necessary. After only 3-4 weeks of working out, I no longer needed modifications and was able to do burpees, push-ups, and could run with my group. The only modification I kept was a no-impact jumping jack. I spent a total of 13 months in debilitating pain that affected my life in so many ways. We first went to Dr. Ted Peña because my daughter (then 6 months old) had a minor ear infection that her pediatrician wanted to treat with a massive dose of antibiotics. Due to a family history of adverse reactions to prescription medication, I sought out a more natural course of treatment. Dr. Peña understood my hesitancy of giving one so young so much medication, carefully examined my daughter, then adjusted her. Within hours, her fever reduced and she nursed for the first time in days without crying. He invited us back for daily treatments that week and by Day 2, her fever and all signs/symptoms infection were completely gone. I suffered with chronic ear infections as a kid (so much so that I became immune to Amoxicillin and needed tubes in my ears by age 4) so finding an alternative way to save my children from that similar agony made my mommy heart happy. With my 3rd pregnancy, it was the first time I was able to be adjusted weekly during my pregnancy. I was in active labor for only 2.5 hours and pushed my 8lb 2oz son out within 5 minutes! After LONG labors with my other two kids, I fully credit Dr. Peña's regular adjustments as the biggest reason for my swift labor. Three days after delivery, we took our newborn son to see Dr. Peña and both Baby & I received a gentle adjustment. That night, Baby Boy slept 6 hours straight! He's remained my best sleeper thanks to regular care under Dr. Peña. Also, several years ago, my husband compressed a disc in his back so badly that Kaiser insisted he would need surgery to fix it (and yes, we did receive a 2nd opinion that suggested the same type of surgery). When Dr. Peña examined by husband's x-rays, he believed the disc could be healed without surgery and recommended a less drastic form of treatment. After a few courses of spinal decompression therapy & regular adjustments, my husband was able to walk without pain. By the time his treatment was finished (about 2 months, I think), his back felt better than it ever had before and he was able to keep working through it all! If he would've opted for the surgery, he would've still been out of work to recover at that time AND his Kaiser doc had even said that there was no guarantee my husband would be pain-free after surgery, even with physical therapy. I'm so thankful for Dr. Peña saving my family from a potentially life-altering issues with his professional and proper assessment of our needs! I rarely give 5 stars but this is an exceptional place. I have been a patient for over 5 years and I can tell you Dr. Pena isn't just a chiropractor, he is a healer. He makes you feel like you are part of his family. He truly cares about each of his patients. He listens and helps. I now take all three of my children after my oldest started having migraines. Me and my wife Anna would like to say thank you to Dr. Pena for the dedicated and knowledgeable back corrective service he gave to me and my wife and also a special thank you to his wonderful front office staff who are really wonderful caring individuals. We were involved in a traffic accident were we got rear ended, I honestly though whiplash was something that was more of a joke then reality until it happened to me and my wife. The first night we couldn't even move and it felt like our backs were on fire and we couldn't even turn our heads. Honestly even using the restroom was unpleasant, and we had many sleepless nights where we actually had to sleep sitting up. Then we started to see Dr. Pena and he went to work, the first visit I couldn't even get back up from the table he had to help me up, Well two months later I felt great and he even commented its as if I had grown a few feet as my back was aligned properly once again something that hasn't felt this good since I was a teenager in high school. My wife took a little longer but she is 100% better now but will need continued work as she was actually sitting on the side that got the direct impact.
