Contacted Johnson Marketing at the end of March, 2014. Needed a new website layout done. Matt…read morequoted me $1000 and gave a timeline of 2 weeks. I gave $250 up front, but 2 weeks later he's saying that his lead graphic designer was very busy. It wasn't until the start of June (over 2 MONTHS later) that he sent me the new layout. It looked like it was thrown together in about 5 minutes using clipart. He claimed his lead designer spent more than 50 hours on it - very hard to believe. By the suggestion of my nephew, I did a Google image search for the main banner and found this; http://www.freewebtemplates.com/download/free-website-template/css3water-859666893/ The EXACT site that he was charging me $1000 for, and that took his "team" 50 hours to make! I'm not sure why Matt chose to lie about not only having a designer, but spending 50 hours to make a layout that he downloaded from a free site. I confronted him about finding the free template I found and haven't heard back from him - now 6 weeks later. I just wish I hadn't given any money upfront. Not recommended

Matt hired me to do a project in February of this year. He sent me the scope, it seemed quick and…read moreeasy so I quoted a low price and was able to finish the project within 1 week/10 days. The client had extra changes and features that were outside of the scope, so I asked for more money, did the extra work and delivered. Matt told me he had not been paid by the client, so he couldn't pay me yet. Each week he had a new excuse; client wrote a check that bounced, used a credit card and did a charge back...etc. I knew he was lying but thought I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. After 2 months I disabled my source code due to lack of payment (I've been protecting and encoding my source for almost 10 years - a practice I learned working with Sony PlayStation). As the layout of the site was a template the client downloaded and the content had been copy and pasted from a competitors site, all the work had been done by me. Since it hadn't been paid for it was still my intellectual property and I'm not in the business of doing work for free. The client was unaware of all of this and contacted me. I explained the situation to him and he told me he had already paid for everything. Long story short, he is now a client of mine. I noticed Matt had changed the authorship of my source to his name as well as the FTP access. I confronted Matt about not only stealing my work, but attempting to take full credit for something he didn't do and didn't even pay for. That's when the name calling and the false accusations started, which made sense since he had been caught in a big lie. Finally, he told me he doesn't have the money (the truth at last) and that he still intended on paying - still hasn't. I was just surprised because not only was my quote pretty low, but Matt attempted to take full credit for work he didn't do. I've worked with a lot with contractors as well as fortune 500 companies, and I've never had someone just so blatantly lie, try to steal my work and not even pay for it! I'm sure he will commented on this to try to save face and that's fine, I'm just glad that I'm not out a lot of time and money.

They go months (and 2 years during the pandemic) without adding ANYTHING new. I don't know who owns and operates this service, but they should basically scrap it. The quality of the graphics are pathetic and their service is a joke. I rarely use anything but their music, and I'll probably drop the service entirely soon.

Overall I think the products are quite solid. I would confess I had to do some digging to find this reference with a physical number and for that I am dinging them one star. I think for a company as big as DJ their number should be plastered across their site, their CONTACT US has no number. That complaint aside here are my thoughts on their products and services. I cannot speak to the quality of their hardware gear, I only focus on content development. With regard to content I find it to be exceptional for most products. I think their music and soundfx are meager and less then awe inspiring but the After Effects and video and graphics products are outstanding. Since their introduction of the ala'carte menu for those who failed to get in while the getting was good (like myself as a platinum user) the prices may be less then stellar. For those on a plan its amazing. I pay a set rate and grab what I want when I want it. I may be limited to 15GB a month but they offer a rollover plan that allows me to ebb and flow with my purchases without exceed my monthly data quota. I think it fits well into most of us doing business. Just prior to their introduction of the Monthly plans I purchased some great bundled packages at a sales price but was a bit disgruntled that I made big purchases that were now nulled by the platinum membership. Amazingly they reimbursed me for my purchases. I suspected it would take more wrestling to get them to do so. In that regard I would disagree with the customer support comments listed. I suspect most of the posts listed here are prior to their introduction of the membership programs. I am writing this today because I had a tech support question regarding their new Juicer and monthly data quotas. I used the number listed here. Received a support representative on pick up of the phone and he very accurately responded to each concern with a tangible and effective solution. Let me finish by stating that I do not work for them, none of my friends or family work at the company and I am not being paid for this review. I just felt they deserved a fair shake from a customer who has a very different experience then those listed here to date. Keep up the good work DJ!!!
