Italian for Fashion Week! I didn't know what to properly add the business as so I entered it in…read moreItalian but hopefully my English friends can see this review if they search it. I hurt my neck during this event as Milan was packed full of beautiful people from everywhere! I've seen other fashion events in North America and they're pretty neat, usually medium size to smallish, you can find out things if you go to a certain website etc and most of the events are within a few hop, step and jump away from each other. The thing is...that's not how Milan rolls! In the downtown core or by the Duomo they had many many many booths setup with times and venues of where and what fashion shows were going on. They had a lot of festivities and free giveaways and the streets were PACKED! Cameras were everywhere and people were...well dressed. There were a lot of invite only events but ones open to the public as well with up and coming designers for fashion and even other design related fields. The venues for the shows were top notch and always packed with people. I had a chance to meet some awesome people attending a couple of the events and they were super friendly. There were a few after party's but unfortunately I never had a chance to hit up a party as I made it for the last day of the event and honestly it was way superior to ones I have seen in North America. Information was readily available around town and the streets were super lively. The venues for the shows were scattered throughout the city and they always seemed to draw a pretty neat and eclectic crowd. I wish I had a chance to sit in on one of the larger shows but even still the event seemed extremely well run, there were a lot of things for people to see and the city was a lot more livelier than it usual during my trip. I was in Paris for their fashion week and they didn't seem to have as many things setup around town that was readily available to people to find out more about fashion and their shows. If you have a chance to be in Milan during this time you should really look into getting into a show and some after party's. The city is happening during this time! Beware the douchebag paparazzi's though. They run around and bump into people all the time. There are cool paparazzi too but I was just saying be aware of the douchey ones.
