Easily as worthy as its many heritage counterpart structures in this bountiful city of wondrous architecture, it still seems like a hidden gem that gets overlooked amidst multiple world heritage sites. It is not just a beautiful building, it is one of the most photo-worthy UNESCO sites in town. Gorgeously preserved seats, wood, sculptures, stained glass, historic cafe, and don't miss those yummy balcony columns outside! There is much to love here, but if you are short on time and can only snap photos and move along, you can see it all in 20 minutes. Squeeze it in. It's one of the most beautiful buildings you've never heard of.

I was a little disappointed that during the night performance, the patio area with the famous mosaic columns was completely closed off. It's one of the highlights of the building, and I was really hoping to see it lit up at night. Apparently, it's only open during day tours, which is kind of a bummer if you're only going for a show. Also, heads up -- the main photo you see everywhere is taken from the upstairs balcony seats, so if that's the view you want, book accordingly.

If there's no performance when you're in town, sign up for the tour. The Liceu dates back to 1847, but the Grand Teatre was reconstructed after a devastating fire in 1994 under the guidance of architects Inasi de Sola-Morales, Xavier Fabre, and Lluis Dilme. The interior is lavish and extraordinary. As noted by Christine, there are not enough restrooms so I advise you relieve yourself before the performance, don't have an espresso just before. The older I get, the harder it is to handle venues without enough lavatories. The Liceu Metro stop puts you right here, it's on the Rambla so I would eat elsewhere because prices around here are astronomical.

The night I went, though, there was no such Flamenco, just a dark little Cuban bar, with Caribbean music and a whole bar filled with sugar and mint-filled glasses ready for a mojito order. It wasn't quite what I was looking for, but we had a good time. My one only real problem has to do with the bathroom, where there was neither soap nor paper towels...yikes! In any event, if you're in Gràcia and looking for a mojito-infused, Caribbean evening, this might very well be the spot to go.

I have absolutely no idea if this show was legit or even considered a good show to Spaniards, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Both the singing and dancing were fantastic. Not to mention, the live mini orchestra playing in the background. The cast was very in tune with their roles and it really pulls the audience in. --I can't remember what the price range was but I paid 35 euro and i sat in the 5th or 6th row from the stage. --I'd say Flamenco and a bullfight are 2 must-see things when visiting Spain.

Best Cabaret and Burlesque show in Barcelona!…read more My boyfriend and I went to El Molino for Valentine's Day and coming from New York I was a little skeptical of the quality. I am so glad that we decided to see the show at El Molino. The theater itself is darling, and all of the seats have a clear view of the stage. We purchased a special that included a bottle of Cave and 2 tickets for 50 euros, and there was enough space at the table for us to order some tapas as well. The acoustics and special effects are incredible, and the performers are top notch. Down to the Maitre'D, everyone in the cast was a pleasure to watch and towards the end of the show there is a special acrobatic act with two dancers who we didn't see below. They were so good that I want to find where else they perform in the city. I'll definitely bring visitors from our of town.

Performance was at 7pm on a Monday night (great to think about booking since Sunday's and Monday's tend to have less things happening) and lasted a bit over an hour. I was stunned and very much enjoyed the intense passionate music (loved the guitars and singing) and the very top notch flamenco dancing (2 guys, 2 girls, mix of solos, duets and group numbers). I am a dancer myself and thought their artistry was excellent and their enthusiasm was great. Definitely a loud intense performance, kids around 5 yrs + seemed to enjoy it but there were some crying babies. Pretty much a full house when I went. A must see while you are in Barcelona!
