I'm 1 yr new to this union. I'm so very frustrated and the lack of communication between the workers and the union stewarts. I was laid off at the end of last yr, went back to work end of June, just to be laid off again 5 weeks later. My frustraion comes in while trying to figure out the purpose of the union reps who don't seem to give a damn that...1. I have rent to pay, 2. I have a daughter in college in addition to a teenage son to feed, along with bills just like everyone else. 3.I never get any answers to any of my questions. Unemployment IS NOT TO LIVE OFF OF and it runs out after you don't have money left! I'M AT THAT POINT! Ive called the office, left a mesaage ( no response) to see if they had any informatuon about other companies in this same union that may be hiring. This is how homelessness starts, just from a lack of NOT GIVING A F#÷$ about others! Unconcerned, the worst local. Meetings are not streamed the Web site is nothing more than informational bare bones at that. The business agents and stewards are firmly in the company's pocket not all but most. They let ups violate our contract and do nothing about the dangerous working conditions. What a joke this local is. 12th grade education?! what makes you feel they graduated high school? These people are a joke, oh and Nancy attending a workshop at DePaul does not make you a graduate anymore then you taking a sewing class makes you a tailor. When I called to get information for a patient, I was interrupted before I could finish a question and I felt like they wanted to do anything but to talk to me. I even had to call back in hopes that I would get a different person to finish all the questions I needed answered. In my opinion, I would like to never deal with this company again. read more
