Took the BRC course here and had a great experience. I have been riding for years but was tired of not having my endorsement. I saw that taking this course included endorsement as long as you complete the course & pass driving test. I have been riding motorcycles my entire life. This class is geared toward the beginning rider and basically the ability to pass the AZ state motorcycle test, btw it IS NOT easy, hence why I took the class. Most of the practices you do are just basic if you are a regular rider but if you've never taken a professional riding class I guarantee you will learn something; I certainly did. Kayson & Curtis were the 2 instructors and they did a great job, made a great team. I would definitely recommend this class, especially to a new rider or anytime seeking their motorcycle endorsement. I cannot say enough about TEAM ARIZONA. My husband and I decided to get midlife crisis dirt bikes LOL. My stipulation was that we be properly trained! Although this is a course for street bikes it was incredibly thorough. They truly started from absolute scratch! Frankly I was terrified and they could not have Eased us into the water any better! Mary is a doll! Excellent teacher. Straight shooter! I have been a trainer before and I am presently a demonstration chef for the City Of Tempe. So I know what it takes to engage a class and keep it fun as well as informative. She was perfect! Her cohort Leonard joined us for Saturday and Sunday. He was awesome as well! Very encouraging. Lots of one on one tips from both as we worked to master each new skill. We now have an M endorsement on our drivers license! Recently I finished Basic Rider Course at TEAM Arizona Motorcycle Rider Training Centers - B Stubbs, which is located at N Cave Creek rd. That was awesome! We had two coaches Joe and James. Both very knowledgeable and professional. Range time: Each student got motorcycle that fit his/her height and ability to handle. We worked in groups and each of students got individual recomendations on what can be improved. The feedback was very important and each student received it in full. Bikes were well-maintained and we had no technical problems. Classroom: Team work! It may seem boring to learn theory but when you work together with other students it is more fun. Joe was our classroom coach. Answered all our questions, participated in discussions. This course is grossly overstated. You'll get a training, but you might pass out or worse in the process. During the course, we had two of the students get light-headed and have to stop the course and take a break because of heat exhaustion. With the big groups and little actual riding, you mostly sit around and wait in line for the rest of the big class to do one exercise at a time. I can understand providing training is the goal, but this organization seems to strive for the bare minimum. The owner seems to think this course provides the same value money-wise as other services. From a google response to a poor review, he becomes defensive and states that he provides a VALUE service... "(15 hours at roughly $22 per hour) to other types of training (guitar lessons at $35 per hour)" ...yeah, if you're comparing one on one services to the group service that TEAM Arizona provides... how can you compare group and one on one value? It doesn't compare. You're lucky to get an hour or two actually riding a motorcycle and the rest of the time you'll just be toasting in the heat, with a helmet, in long sleeves and hopefully you won't pass out of heat exhaustion! At least when I ride my bike, I can actually ride. At this course, you'll pay to just sit around and die of heat stroke! Now to mention the instructors, the instructors provided little guidance on what to improve during the retests (which they said they would/did provide). After doing one of the exercises and completing it without hitting the cones, stalling, or missing any marks, I was asked to retry it. I tried again and later learned that I did not have enough speed. When asked why the instructors did ask me to speed up, they answered that "WE DID!" with quite some tone. Truth be told I'm apart of a family of riders and I have plenty of experience on bikes. I was gifted this course as an extra safety measure to maybe learn something that I've missed from learning from others. As a beginner rider I cannot recommend this place enough! James and Tony were my coaches this past weekend James was high energy and super informative and really answered any and all questions and went above and beyond. Tony was the range coach and showed us so many amazing skills and these two really were an amazing pair. My whole class passed both written and ridding. I would highly recommend doing a class that does the ridding first as it really just makes the class room part way easier having done the skills physically first. Also I was told by Ridenow that I would get a 349 dollar credit towards safety gear after passing this test and we did get that but Ridenow left out the part where you have to buy a bike from them to get that credit. So just a heads up has nothing to do with Team Arizona just wanted to mention that. One thing I loved is that both my coaches rode their bikes to work daily and had them parked at the range. just shows how they really are about the bike lifestyle and it just made me trust them even more! Please note the MSF course the fastest I went was 25mph and in second gear. So you will have to practice on your own to get street ready but.. this course is meant to take any skill level and give them a solid foundation to build on. I plan on taking many more courses and My interactions with James and Tony truly made me so happy to be on two wheels! read more

Yeah, if you want motorcycle certification, but don't know a good way to cover all the basics, this is the place to go. Half your time will be in the classroom, and the other half will be on the practice course. Even if you have NEVER been on a motorcycle before in your life, if you listen to what these guys say, follow it, and work hard to keep practicing in the time you've been given, you will have complete class M certification in 48 hours. All you'll need to do is bring the card they give you to the MVD, show two forms of ID and spend $7, and you're legal. Just LISTEN when they tell you something. Don't do like I did and forget to press the clutch when coming to a stop. It hurts to fall off a bike--but that was MY fault, not theirs. If you listen and practice, their two-day weekend course is the fast track to getting your license. Take the time, have fun, and trust these guys to show you the way. They are excellent at what they do. read more

Took the full day Advanced RiderCourse in Gilbert. It was not very good. RiderCoaches were approachable and engaged. The class wasn't advanced, nor was it delivered as advertised. Course content: Poorly prepared classroom materials. In the classroom, the projector wasn't working, so we had to squint at a computer monitor on a chair. Classroom: Activities in classroom lasted nearly four hours, and there were no breaks. It was advertised as 3 hours, and the extra classroom time came at the expense of range time. The classroom material was very boring, including a series of exercises where signs flashed on the (small) screen for 0.5 seconds, and you had to see if you could figure out what the sign said. While the theoretical "oh wow, it takes a long time to read" moment was...theoretical, the practical effect was to give me a headache and wonder why we kept beating a dead horse. That we spent time on that instead of getting in the advertised range time made the classroom particularly awful. Range: Range time was 3.75 hours. It was advertised as "at least five hours." "Hey, let's spend more time in a motorcycling class in the classroom," said no one, ever. Exercises were well explained, and well demonstrated. Beginning students - one who self-identified as having 100 miles of riding experience - made some range exercises unworkable, and limited the practical value of others. Would I recommend? Not for advanced classes, when the program lets students self-select. For a beginner class, where everyone is new, the playing field is level. I'd suggest them as an option for that. read more

I attended two day basic rider course and learned so much. Sean and Alexis did a great job of teaching us about the friction zone, turning your head to direct your turns and effective braking techniques. I just bought my first bike in over 32 years and plan to return this fall for some more advanced training after I have a little time on the bike to practice my basics. I used to ride motorcycles when I was younger. After a bad accident I stopped riding for 18 yrs. Recently i got the itch to get another bike. I heard about classes at team and decided to take the introduction class where I also get my license. The class was so informative and they make it easy to learn. There were many newbies that have never ridden in the class also. After a few hrs of class work you head out to the bikes. They are all different 250cc bikes. It was surprising to me to see these people that have never ridden, pick it up so quickly. Instructors are with you the whole time. I loved the drills they had you do, we did many defensive manuevers. They correct any bad behaviors and again are there to walk you thru the process, the first one is a 2 day class, and I've already signed up for the advance riders course! All I can say is what a class! I walked in not knowing anything about street riding. My only experience was dirt biking when I was 12-17. Mike and Sean are great instructors and are very fair the entire time to all the riders. The classroom is in broken done and the information is dissected in portions. The "range" time is 10 hours of riding. This is the best part. Mike and Sean break it down so even the most elementary rider gets it. I'll agree with Scott B, Jigme S, and Patricia P in that the service is horrible! I got up 4:30am and drove 37 miles to arrive 15 mins into the start of the class. I was told by the instructor that I would have to reschedule. I tried to explain that I had just driven all the way from the northwest valley and ran into some bad traffic along the way. I figured that since the class is scheduled to be a 5.5 hour course, they'd be more tolerant than they were. The instructor refused to allow me to join the training and even expressed that everyone else arrived on time which is the LAST thing you should tell a paying customer. That response was quite immature and juvenile. In my head I was thinking "grow the eff up!" but instead I replied by telling him that I was doubtful that anyone else had driven further than I had to get there. Basically, they had zero consideration for the time and effort I took to get to the class. And before you reply w/ "reasons" (i.e. excuses) why you can't allow late (w/in reason) attendees to join, understand that I'll be hearing why you WON'T allow late attendees to join into the class. If you truly valued your customers, you could have some plan to pull late attendees into the course but for xyz reasons you won't. 15 mins late?!? Really??? Ultimately all I can say is beware of businesses that have an UNCONDITIONAL no refund policy. Once they get your money, good customer service is not guaranteed. BTW, the guy did suggest that I reschedule the course. And I suspect he though that was good customer service. After just having forfeited and hour and a half of my time/effort, there's no way in hell I'd support your business by rescheduling. Like Jigme S, I have a good mind to contact my bank to dispute the charge. read more

They guide you through the entire process of learning how to ride a bike- from letting the clutch out to swerve techniques-to emergency stop practice. The riding evaluation and written evaluation and if you pass, you can skip the DMV skill test and get a discount on insurance and other discounts. WELL WORTH THE MONEY! The price of confidence on a motorcycle for beginners is priceless. I signed up at the buddy Stubbs location To get my license and already had a little bit of experience riding, the class was okay but when going to the range I could immediately tell my bike wasn't right, it wouldn't shift properly, and after showing my instructors they then test rode it and confirmed it's not right but said that I'd just have to shift hard to get through the course and that they would take this into consideration during the test, it also didn't down shift into first properly, couldn't tell if you shifted or not. Well anyway come test time and I make it through the cone swivel but the bike stalls out at the end although my clutch lever was pulled all the way in, this was enough for them to fail me and tell me I have to retest 40 miles away and at night. I was pretty upset since it seemed they didn't take the faulty bike into consideration after all. I brought this to headquarters attention and there wasn't a solution for me. I passed best in my class at the retest. I'd advise anyone to somewhere else with decent bikes. I now realize that bike just needed a full clutch adjustment. read more

I have wanted to get a motorcycle since my youth, yet never knew how to ride. Now, at a young 48 I decided not to wait any longer. The course I choose was the Basic Rider Course. The classroom training was well done and required a great deal of participation helping to ensure our understanding of the material, which also helped with information retention for the MVD written evaluation. At the beginning of the course time I was somewhat fearful to actually get on the motorcycle. I didn't really know what to expect. They truly walk you through step-by-step, if you have never ridden a motorcycle and want to you should take this class. I had a rocky start on the course but with each step they told me what I was doing wrong and as I implemented the suggested changes, I learned to ride. Most of what I have said so far can be credited mainly to the structure of TEAM. It is important to understand that beyond the structure provided there are coaches that both TEAM and those of us who take this training count on. Steve and Jim in Tucson are absolutely top notch. I have a hearing impairment that makes it difficult to understand what people say. On the course I couldn't wear my hearing aids and had to wear a helmet. That put me at a great disadvantage, but Steve and Jim were patient and explained when I didn't quite catch something. I was also able to watch other riders in line before me to help me better comprehend the instruction. Awesome people and atmosphere. I've been riding for a long time and thought this course was going to be kind of pointless, but I was wrong. Even when it was 110° the course was a blast. Getting to practice low speed maneuvers and other techniques should be on everyone's list, whether you've been riding for years or you just want to get into it. Its easy to get complacent when you ride all the time, I've been guilty of it. This course was perfect for bringing my attention back to the details. I recently took the basic rider course from them. The classroom part with Tony was great. The driving practice was mediocre at best. The course teacher barked at the students which did not create an environment for asking questions. The class was full so no real one on one advice of how to improve. A third of the class failed including myself. I went for a retest with Kaysen and the experience was wonderful. He took the time to really explain the what and how and make those driving feel very relaxed. After each exercise he reviewed questions with us, what we learned, etc. Everyone passed with flying colors. The original class was rushed. My biggest complaint was too many people in initial class thus no one on one anything and the instructor created a very poor learning environment for everyone. All he did was bark at the students and made people uncomfortable. (Poor experience) read more

I'll be honest...I had little faith that the staff at Team Arizona could transform me from a passenger that had never operated a motorcycle (or any other vehicle with a clutch), to a licensed motorcycle operator in a matter of two short days. I'll be damned, they did it! I took the Motorcycle Safety Course at the Go AZ location in Scottsdale and could not have been more impressed with instructors (Nick and Kevin), the course or the location. Five hours in the classroom and ten hours on the range provided me with knowledge and skills to safely operate a motorcycle. Of course I am not going to head off on a 1000 mile ride this weekend, but I feel confident and ready to hop on a bike and cruise around town to get some more practice in. What a great company. I have been going to the TEAM AZ bike night (2nd Wendesday of every month at Sidewinder Subs in Gilbert) for about a year now and it is a great time. At a recent one I won a free Advanced Riding Techniques class, something I had wanted to take for a long time. I took the class a few weeks ago and it was fantastic. I feel like my riding skill improved way beyond what I had expected. We worked body positioning, emergency stopping, cornering, trail braking and obstacle avoidance. It was a lot packed into 1 day. My instructors Kevin and Michelle were fantastic giving great feedback, keeping things fun while still filling our heads with a ton of knowledge. The class was done at TeamAZ's facility in gilbert and most of the time was spend out on the practice range on the bikes after doing some in class work first. The exercises were fun and built up skills upon each other. As we progressed I could feel my confidence building and my riding improving. I highly recommend taking classes with Team AZ for both new and experienced riders. I am now itching to go take the Total Control classes with them. read more

I've taken TEAM's BRC (beginner rider course) and IRC (advanced rider course) and both had excellent on bike instruction. The excersizes are taken from the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and are the same as any other company which teaches the MSF course. The classroom instructor I had was an arrogant dickhead who spent a majority of the class talking about his own stories. He was quick to shoot down questions, and at one point actually heard a kid ask a question and dismissed him saying it was not a situation that would happen. I wish I could remember what it was, but a few people in the class wanted an answer. oh well. After my first accident, I decided to take this course, and I'm very happy that I did, as I feel a much more confident rider now. They are a little spendy, and most courses require you to get up at ass o'clock in the morning, but overall a good experience. read more

I am a new rider who recently completed the Basic Rider Course. I was having problems riding on the freeway particularly with cornering at 50 mph and even driving more than 50 mph on the freeway when the wind is 16 mph or higher. It was scary and I only did it in the wee morning hours when no one was around. I took a 2 hour private lesson with Bill Seltzer to help me with the high speed cornering. He was patient on helping me work on my turns and cornering and gave constructive feedback, which is always helpful when one is in the learning phase. It's always good to have someone who will work with you, instead of against you during training. Bill was definitely working with me. He seems like a real nice person. I was able to improve my technique and cornering. But really it takes a lot of personal practice keeping in mind all the pointers Bill gave during training. Bill reinforced the points he taught by helping me evaluate and think through the training allowing me to make my own adjustments as needed. Within a few days, I have been riding with normal traffic during daytime cornering at 70-75 mph on the freeway with cars sandwiching me on both sides. The speed was needed to keep up with normal traffic. lol. It was no longer scary but now quite fun. In fact, instead of fearing for my life, I am having fun and and quite meditative now when riding on the freeway. I have also been able to do really solid tight turns at 25 - 45 mph in non-freeway traffic. Its really fun to turn that tight and that accurate. Bill has really helped me improve my skills dramatically in a short time. I look forward to taking some more lessons from him in the future. read more

I rode self-taught for a number of years without an endorsement. Yeah, I know. How stupid can you get? I bought a new bike and finally wised up and decided to do it right this time. I enrolled for the course and can't believe how much I learned! The instructors took every piece of the course and broke it down into really easily digestible chunks. They were more than accommodating to a number of skill levels, too. I un-learned a lot of bad habits, as well. I feel like I have a much healthier respect for riding, as well as a much better skill set to keep me safer out there. I bought a bike 1 week before taking the course, and only drove around my neighborhood to figure it out. This course did a lot to teach about safety and how best to react to certain situations. The driving portion is tricky when you try something for the first time but they are great at allowing practice and telling you the right techniques. I took it in August which is not the best weather when wearing a helmet, long pants, boots, gloves, and a long sleeve shirt. The best part about it is you take your course completion form to the DMV and a few minutes later you get a new license. If you don't own a motorcycle, how would you pass the driving test anyway? Icing on the cake is that certain Insurances will provide a discount (Progressive is one) with completion of the course. read more

I had never ridden a motorcycle before (except as a passenger) and after two days of a good mix of classroom and hands on training I have a great skill set that I can build on with practice to get better. The Rider Coaches (what they call their instructors) are very detail oriented and give great worthwhile feedback. My class had Kevin and Jim as the Rider Coaches and both were extremely knowledgeable, genuinely cared about our safety and knowledge/skill acquisition (of the tools to be safe!), and made the experience a lot of fun. Just a side note to anyone rating T.E.A.M. Arizona lower that 5 stars because of the instructors being "rude": constructive criticism is given often and at first might make you feel like you are stupid. Get used to it- if you are taking this class than you ARE stupid in the ways of motorcycles (at least at first) and you should recognize that and take any criticism they give you because they are trying to prevent you from becoming a statistic. I purchased my wife a can am spyder for Christmas, purchase the 3 wheel course for her to learn how to ride her gift. Class room instructions was great, hands on physical activity was a waste of my money. She was instructed on a automatic spyder. I now have to teach her how to shift gears, use a clutch, down shift, basically teach her how to ride!!!! it was a waste of money. The only positive aspect is they allowed her to retest because she miss passing by 2 questions. They INSTRUCTED her on how to get her endorsement. And now I'm spending 2hrs a day teaching her how to ride and understand her bike. They should teach real world riding not easy world dreams. Wife doesn't like her bike as much now, thinks it's to hard because course thought her easy riding!!!!! I own and ride a LT1200, the gift was a safe way for her to enjoy riding and not just being a passenger. Course robbed her of enjoying it. Michelle and Craig were a great coaching team working with a class of 12 that included some that never rode a motorcycle before with even a few that never operated a clutch before. I took the two day rider course from Jim. It was a great class. Lots of skill building/practice on the bike. Good information in the classroom sessions. LOT AND LOTS of stories from Jim, some where even applicable to riding. Jim did a great job at making all of us students get better on the bikes, most of us seemed very comfortable on the drills and everyone cruised through the skills exam, even the figure 8. I highly recommend this course. Let me tell you why. My very first ride picking up my scooter turned out to be a 30 mile journey home from the dealer. I had planned to work my way up to 10-20mile rides, but I got one in my first hour. My ride had city streets, highway access road (oops), neighborhoods, a winding mtn road, long 50mph highway and hills. All of my training came in handy and my observation and lane/visibility position skills were put to use. I got an oh sh!t moment when I accidentally hit the cut off switch going down hill at 50 mph. I stayed calm and shifted over two lanes to the shoulder. Bike wouldn't start, but I went through FINEC and vroom, the scooter was running again and off I went as safely as possible. THE DRILLS WORK. So much fun and safety first!! Who would have thought learning to ride.. safely... could be so much fun. After a loooooooong break from riding a motorcycle, I decided I wanted to get back on. I found Team Arizona's intro to riding course browsing the interwebs. The intro class was short and sweet. John (our instructor) knew the subject incredibly well and learned me everything I need to know about being safe and not popping the clutch. I appreciated all the time we got to spend on the bike on the course getting introduced to the basics, because getting started and moving is the hardest part. I plan on returning for the Basic Rider Course (and likely any additional courses they offer) to get some more experience under my seat before I brave the wild streets of Arizona drivers... The instructors, are fun, funny and have awesome experiences to share. I highly recommend this school and any of their courses for newbies and experts alike, you can never learn to much about riding fast, and safe!! read more

I picked TEAM because of the cool pics and overall 'solid' looking website, and lots of good info about what I'm going to receive. It seemed like a great package with endorsement included once you pass the final test, so I didn't think much. About the BRC itself... Safe, fun and laid back. I had great time and I think that it's a really well-designed course for someone like me who had no experience with being on a motorcycle. The coaches (Jim&Bill) gave me a lot of positive encouragement, and they were really cool too (not to mention that they knew what they were talking about). I felt comfortable asking questions and going at my own pace which made the whole learning experience much more enjoyable and easier than I originally thought it will be. I've been riding for 2 month now and I'm soooo happy that I took that course. I've learned a lot and it comes handy almost every day on the road, and I don't ever have to worry about being illegal, and getting my bike impounded. Great course. Great coaches. I took the basic rider course (two intense days) - the instructors were patient and fun and the equipment (cycles) was safe and well maintained. Very glad to have taken the course, I'd recommend TEAM Arizona in Gilbert to absolutely everyone who rides or wants to ride. read more

I am very grateful to TEAM Arizona Motorcyclist Training Center and the Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Foundation for my scholarship to complete my Basic Rider course. Merlo and Scott were amazing and patient trainers.
