Let me be clear here. I don't have time to waste on writing reviews so you either have to be really, really amazing or really, really bad. Sadly, you know where this is going from the 1 star review. Today I went into the bank on a somewhat sleepy Friday morning. I had a quick transaction to make. Unfortunately, the customers at the counter had complex transactions so it was taking a lot of time and the line just started to build up. I was waiting and waiting to be taken care of. I thought of just leaving and going to the drive thru as that appeared to be going quickly. There was only one clerk at the counter. Finally, a woman came to help me. I told her what I needed to do and this transaction proceeded to take like 30+ minutes (last time I was there it took 5 minutes). As the clerk continued to work on my transaction, the Manager approached me at the counter and smiled at me and said I am going to help the customer behind you. So I am at the counter with a transaction in process and I am told to step to the side!?!?!?! In what universe does that happen? No universe I live in. I am doing a transaction. How about you open up another terminal and help the customer behind me there instead of just pushing me over to a random place for no reason? I had already been in line for like 20 minutes so I just gave her a good hard grimace because I didn't feel like explaining Customer Service 101 to her on a Friday morning, so I moved over because I wanted her to at least know I was displeased. All told, I was at this bank for like 50 minutes. Seriously, TD Bank Corporate, you need to do serious performance reviews of your mgmt team otherwise what's the point. Read the reviews for this branch and course correct - lots of other competitor banks out there - you don't just get to coast. You have to perform or get out of the way. Horrible service. Every time i come here, they take their time, theyre disrespectful, and they are very unhelpful. Branch manager was trying to help me get a hold taken off a check i deposited, and goes "you know this comes off hold in 2 days" rather than trying to help me. Would not recommend this bank, or branch to anybody read more

Sadly only have one staff member opening accounts and replacing debit cards yet they have 5 employees just standing in the counter doing nothing. They def need to train more staff read more

I recently went in to open an account, and I have fairly mixed feelings. Initially, I had a great experience getting signed up for an account. I was helped quickly, the guy who helped me was very helpful, and didn't push any extra financial products on me. However, after going home, I discovered he was sort of sloppy on account setup. He had never set up my online banking, and at the time I signed up for an account, their ATM card system was not working at the time I was in the branch, and they mailed me a card (which was fine) but never set a PIN, so I had to twice all in to TD to get all of that straightened out. So maybe not the best place to set up an account per se, but TD overall is a nice company to do business with. read more

The employees are sweet, but I've had to come on four seperate occasions to handle what I thought would be a simple closing of an account for a CD that I had opened that was returning dismal interest. The first time it was, the person that handles these only comes on this day, then we tried to get the necessary people on the line but keptgetting transferred, redirected and hung up on. on the fourth try I was helped by a young lady who got whoever needed to be spoken to on the phone, received my check and was on my way. Nice employees, most likely just dealing with an archaic system so I don't fault them. read more

I very rarely have to step foot inside this bank but on the occasion that I do, its always a great experience. Need a new debit card? No problem, they print it for you right then and there. Need something notarized? They provide that service as well when you need it. Great customet service. After dealing with Bank of America for over 15 years and having them steal thousands of dollars from me over that time, its nice to have a bank that actually values their customers. Never had a single issue in my 5 years with them. read more

Be careful Opening an account with this bank. They will hold your money and it will not be available. If you are looking for an account that works for you, I suggest Chime. I deposited a check on the 12th from my payroll and they are telling me that my money will not be available until the 23rd. Like I just worked for my money and I cannot even use it. Absolutely absurd! Now I would like to know why the attendant at the desk didn't tell me that I was on a 30 day probation when I opened this account, I would have never opened it. Today I rarely need to physically visit the bank in order to do a banking transfer like deposit. I canst say that their service is amazing, if the first time of 2015 I needed to enter the bank I needed to wait 35 minutes for someone to help me. I know I did not schedule an appointment, but I asked how long it will take, and they said no longer than 20 minutes. At the end, I found myself sitting in front of someone who is new in the bank, since my older banker was transferred to a new bank, which made me wonder if I should even stay here. There is a completion outside, they better improve soon. read more

This bank sucks. If you don't make a transaction for a year they will send you a letter saying that your money will be turned over to the state as "unclaimed property." Long lines in the branch. Tried to call them, the first time I hung up after 40 rings. The 2nd time I called them I asked them to close the account online or over the phone. I got a run-around about needing to come into the branch to close the account. I don't have the time for this and won't be banking with them in the future. P.S. My address shows as California, I'm not from California. I'm from Stamford. read more

Terrible place to open a bank account. There are LOTS of other banks in Stamford and I'd strongly recommend considering other options before coming here. The reasons are more fundamental and not subjective - it is really about how they run the bank and in particular the management. Went to get a paper endorsed and the person endorsing it - Antonia, kept questioning me about my driver's license as it was from a different state. She even wanted to know why I had a license from a different state. As a Notary you are supposed to verify identity, not pretend to be an undercover agent assigned by the state to interrogate anyone who needs a notarisation. Anyhow, after an ordeal she eventually concluded that me and the person on the driver's license were one and the same. We went to the teller and asked for a Manager and they said there was no manager !!! A bank running with no manager ?! Apparently - it was true, everyone was working the way they want to do without any management supervision. Very risky way to run a financial institution. We had a check drawn out to 2 payees and asked if we can both endorse and they refused to do it either. It was not a government check which I know has some restrictions, but with other checks - if both individuals are present and endorse as far as I have seen in the past, it has not been an issue. Now since there was no manager ... and no one we can verify it with, you were essentially left with no choice but to come back at some other day, hoping that the manager decided to stay back at the bank. Very disappointing and not professional and a risky way to run a business that holds millions in individual savings in their bank accounts. read more

I have several accounts at this branch since 2018. When I made my first deposit of $20,000 with a cashiers check it took 30 days to clear....the strangest crap I have ever heard and I have banked for over 40 years. On April 8th, I mad a mobile deposit (pay) of $5,000 from my business checking to my personal account as per my CPA advise for proper recording for the IRS. I could have made an app transfer but the IRS may have made that questionable. Yet, my money was on a "hold". I called on April 9th and was told that "MY MONEY" would not be available to me until April 12th. I'm confused, "MY MONEY THAT WAS CLEAR IN MY BUSINESS ACCOUNT (from the same branch) FROM A WIRE TRANSFER FROM SEVERAL DAYS EARLIER WAS BEING HELD"?...WTH, I have never heard of anything like this in my life! I have NEVER deposited a single check that bounced so why punish me? To add insult to injury, the funds were already out of my business account??? I have banked at the same branch for 3.5 years but this is it. It is obvious that this brand or branch has money issues and is using depositors cash to operate their business. I have read several reviews today with very similar instances of not wanting to allow customers use "their" money. I earn my money and I am nit asking for a loan. Please do not trust these thieves or accept their lies about not releasing your own CLEARD money to you. My money will be wired to another bank before the end of today! Unfortunately, Yelp requires at least a star, TD Bank does nothing deserve a star they deserve a federal investigation into their suspect practices! read more

Worst possible customer service!!! What a poorly run bank!!! My elderly mother opened a bank account with them. 3 months later they simply closed the account and sent her a check in the mail - no explanations!!! Seriously? Her English is not good so I was trying to get an explanation but they want to her to come down in person even though she's sick. I tried to reason with them that there has to be a better way but to no avail. They had no problem calling and talking to me before about the account but now they would rather be stubbornly difficult. Have you ever heard a bank close an account like this and be so difficult to deal with. I was considering moving my own accounts to TD but no more. read more
