Do Not Hire - Unprofessional, Unreliable, and Overcharging…read moreWe hired Mike and his team to do Roman clay painting, and the entire experience was a disaster. Mike initially came alone for the quote, then returned with his team, assuring us they could complete the job within the quoted time or even faster. However, from day one, they were late and disorganized. * On the first day, Mike and another team member arrived late at 10:30 AM to apply the base coat and left early. The base color was completely wrong for the seafoam shade we requested. They also failed to cover the cabinets properly, leaving base paint on them. * The next day, the Roman clay worker arrived at 9 AM but spent most of the time on their phone, took an extended lunch, and left at 2:13 PM. * We remained patient and even accepted the incorrect base color, asking Mike to at least consult with us on the living room and kitchen/dining areas. On Wednesday, they were scheduled to start at 9 AM--but no one showed up. After my husband texted them, they claimed they'd arrive at 10:30 AM, yet still, no one came until 11 AM.That worker then left at 2 PM, while Mike worked from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM. In total, they only worked 22 hours at the agreed rate of $60 per hour--yet suddenly, Mike added an extra $5,500 to the bill to "finish up" the job. We had already paid a $2,500 deposit, and what they delivered isn't even worth that. When my husband questioned the hours, they ridiculously claimed that their 3 hours of work are equivalent to 8 hours of someone else's--like they're performing surgery instead of painting. We have security camera footage proving the actual hours worked. Not only is the job unfinished, but the quality is so bad it now has to be redone. This team clearly took advantage of us, knowing I'm 36 weeks pregnant and don't have time to find someone else. If you're considering hiring them--don't. They are unreliable, unprofessional, and dishonest. We regret not paying with a credit card so we could dispute the charge. Save yourself the stress and find someone else!
