Charlene is amazing! She makes doing taxes a piece of cake. Had an appointment at 10, was out of…read morethere before 11. If we wouldn't have got to chatting it probably would have been quicker but that's my fault. Highly recommend you see her.

Let me just begin with a disclaimer, my family and I never actually go out of our way to complain,…read morewe are all in the service industry, but woah. DO NOT BOTHER the ladies that work here with your business. Last week my mother and aunt went into the h & r block in LaGrange, Ky to do my deceased grandfathers taxes from last year. First off, is it normal for a tax professional to request that you leave the tax information behind so they can do it on there own time? Because my mother was told 'I don't have time to sit down and do your fathers taxes, you'll need to leave the information here and ill set up an appointment for you all to come sign the information and pick it back up'... my mother and aunt agreed and set up the appointment to come back and get the taxes, but were skeptical because they weren't required to do the same when my grandmother passed, or ever when doing their personal taxes. Mind you, my mom and aunt were made aware that this lady did not know how to do the taxes of my deceased grandfather and that she was left a trail of sticky notes by a co-worker that vaguely described how she was to perform my grandpas taxes. Upon arrival to get the information back, my mother and aunt were asked to sign papers by the receptionist, the woman who did my grandfathers taxes was still assisting another client. The papers stated that they were declining the 'Peace of Mind Agreement' on the taxes, which is something my mother and aunt expressed that they DEFINITELY WANTED to pay for and agree to in the calls and days leading up to the appointment. So my mom said she wanted a new agreement, one that stated they were receiving the peace of mind agreement they requested. The receptionist, who seemed extremely off put by the situation, asked my mother and aunt to wait in the waiting room while their tax lady finished up with her client. 45 minutes passed of my mother aunt in the waiting room. While waiting, my mother and aunt were discussing having the taxes reviewed by a CPA just to be on the safe side. This was apparently overheard by the receptionist..... Tax lady emerges, stating that she will have to type up a new agreement, and that they would have to come back if they wanted a new agreement made, to which my mother and aunt understood and made an appointment for the following Tuesday... the tax lady also seemed upset with situation, but my family trusts H&R block and my mom even proceeded with setting up an appointment for the same lady to do her personal taxes. Today, while at work, My aunt receives a call from the tax lady. Mind you, my mother and aunt both work at the same facility. Tax lady states, and I quote, "All I hear last night and today is how you and your sister are displeased with how I did your fathers taxes. I am a professional and don't need this to hurt my reputation, or this assault on my character. I will be refunding your money and giving you the information back, and you can tell your sister I wont be doing her taxes this year either.".... my mom had already set up an appointment with this woman to do her personal taxes cause she did in fact trust her, not minding the discrepancies in the agreement she wanted fixed. My aunt makes my mother aware of the out-of-character call she just received, to which my mother begins attempting to reach her to correct the matter and let her know that she did not mean any disrespect. She has not answered a single phone call from my mother. She has yet to contact my mother back on the matter, and my mom is distraught with how she was demonized by the staff and professionals that work there just for being concerned and asking questions, and being gossiped about amongst the staff. If these people cant handle the stress of concerned clients dealing with the taxes of their deceased father, these people shouldn't be allowed to operate in this line of business. Also, the question arises, Was it the receptionist gossiping about what she over heard that sent this tax lady over the edge, or was it the tax lady who was unsure about her work that made her drop them as clients? Either way, get it together. After having our taxes done by H&R block in LaGrange for years, we are all left with having to find a new tax agency, while filing formal complaints with H&R block about the conduct of this office. We find out this 'tax lady' OWNS 2 H&R BLOCK BRANCHES! This was the OWNER that dropped my mom and aunt as clients!?! Sucks I had to write this, but everyone should be made aware of this conduct. Just as if I or my mom would be held accountable for our actions at our places of employment, so does this woman. Off to Jackson Hewitt for all of us I guess!
