I guess it makes it easier for them to "explain it away", oh this part of the tax code changed (insert the current year you're filing your taxes), or you should make these changes (.....................), it "May" help out NEXT year, last year it was this change; this year it's a different section of the tax code that's changed, blah blah blah, etc. etc. - but miraculously, the changes Always seemed to impact us! So, lately the trend for the last number of years is that we have ended up Owing and no refund at all! What are the odds? Could it be that we are partly responsible, yes, could it also be that they are taking advantage of us? We've only been using them as our only tax preparers for the better part of a decade, Nearly a full decade - So perhaps the familiarity has given way to opportunity. I'll never know So that is why I'm not 100% totally convinced or sold on the pitch that each and every year post-covid, we've somehow managed to make just the right mistakes that ended up negating our chances of receiving a refund. Suffice it to say that I'm now done with this company; I'm out, Fini, never again! I won't be back in their office next year. I've had it with bs explanations and getting screwed over!
