My initial experience with this daycare provider was positive, with no complaints. During our meeting, I explained that my son had a speech delay due to hearing issues and previous medical interventions have already been placed ( ear tubes) The provider assured me that everything would be fine and even accepted my son's occasional headstands as long as they were safe.
We scheduled a trial period, but on the morning of the trial, the provider suddenly canceled without providing a reason. This last-minute cancellation was unprofessional and left me scrambling to find alternative care for my child for the day as she texted ( not called me) two hours before I was To be at work.
Despite my initial reservations about the limited space in the one bed room apartment-based daycare, I was willing to proceed and observe how the day went. However, the abrupt cancellation confirmed my doubts about the suitability of this environment for my son's needs.
It's concerning that the provider's assistant, not the provider herself, resides at the daycare location, essentially running the daycare out of an apartment. This situation, coupled with the inconsistent handling of the trial period, raises doubts about the professionalism and suitability of the daycare.
I can't help but feel that my son's speech delay and harmless play activities were unfairly judged, especially considering the provider's initial acceptance during our meeting. If the provider was able to accommodate my son initially, it's puzzling why they suddenly couldn't the next day.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend this daycare to others, especially if they can't manage a simple trial period professionally.
*****revised to business response****
I took the time to review the recently updated website, as the relevant information wasn't accessible prior to our meeting. However, I'm still seeking clarity on why accommodations for my son were available yesterday but not today particularly given his specific needs with hearing tubes and speech delay. He comprehends well, without any diagnosed learning disabilities. This situation leaves me feeling concerned about the possibility of discrimination because you keep identifying a child that's not diagnosed as "special needs". I will Definitely be looking into this a little further and reporting it so that way you don't do this to another child or family.
