Pork Fried Rice, Orange Beef, BBQ Duck and Pork, & Salt and Pepper Squid
Catherine N.

We came on a Saturday night and it was busy, but no wait for a table. The meal came with a complimentary soup for each person, typically it's a choice of hot and sour or egg drop soup. They were out of egg drop soup, so we all tried the hot and sour soup. It wasn't spicy, but very strong in pepper flavor. My favorite was the Salt and Pepper Squid, it was light, airy, and seasoned well. The BBQ Pork was a little dry, but I think that's because they use a leaner cut of meat. The Orange Beef was good, a little salty for my taste and got soggy towards the end of our meal. The fried rice was a good pairing for our protein dishes, very simple and straight forward.

We have been dining at Tasty Kitchen since my kids were babies. My oldest is almost 21 and my twins are now 15. Came back on 3/1/26 and realized how much we missed eating here. Right when we entered our old time friend who was the owner back in the day remembered us and immediately welcomed us back. She is the kindest person ever. They have the best lunch specials, prices are great and generous portions. We love their beef chow fun, fried flounder, salt and pepper pork chops, salt and pepper calamari, fried wings and everything we have ordered and tried is delicious. The place is clean and relaxing. Service is excellent! Love their hot and sour soup too. They're located in a large plaza with plenty of parking. Highly recommend for authentic Chinese cuisine.

Very busy at lunch on a Saturday. We were seated immediately, but service was really slow because there were only two servers. The lunch special is available daily and includes rice and soup--unless you get a noodle soup. I got the beef stew noodle soup, and it came with a lot of meat and tendons. So yummy and filling, and my toddler loved it, too! The mango pudding is really small, but it is very sweet and dense, so that portion was enough for dessert.

Tasty Kitchen is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants outside of San Gabriel Valley! They serve many of the Cantonese dishes I could possibly ever want - my comfort food. Prices lean mid-high, but their portions are extremely generous. One dish serves 4-6 portions easily if you are ordering other things. If you are just eating 1 dish, it's probably still enough for 2 portions! My go-to's: - Diced chicken and salty fish fried rice - one of my all-time favorites! They put in a perfect amount of salty fish. I get the flavor in every bite. - Beef chow fun - another classic dish, flavorful and perfectly "dry-fried" (the sauce is cooked into the noodles so there is no extra sauce served or needed) - Sauteed vegetables - they have different options; everything is great and I particularly love the pea leaves but they are seasonal I've honestly been happy with everything I've had here, including dishes from every category they offer. The service is great. The people are nice, polite and direct. They are efficient and communicative. The restaurant is very casual, no frills but clean. Perfect environment for comfort food for me!

Tasty Kitchen is pretty darn tasty! Some entrees are extremely delicious while others are alright. Highlights of our lunch included the Sweet & Sour Chicken, House Special Chow Mein, and Eggplant with Garlic Sauce. Would recommend this place for sure!

Shrimp chow fun

I called and asked if they had lunch specials today (Saturday). The person who answered the phone sounded tentative and said they did, until around 3 pm, but that they may be out of some items. Husband and I stopped in around 2 pm and looked at lunch menu. I ordered beef noodle soup with won tons. Server said they didn't have won tons. So I asked for beef chow fun. She said they didn't have beef. She then said quietly that there would be new owners of the restaurant tomorrow. I ended up ordering shrimp chow fun and husband ordered fried flounder. Food was ok. I guess current owners were on their way out and didn't have many of the ingredients to support the menu.

Wonton Beef Stew noodle soup
John T.

Ordered Beef Stew Wonton noodle soup. Price - 20 dollars for beef stew with wonton soup is pricey . Wonton noodles or beef stew noodles qualify under lunch special pricing. Portions 5/5 Justified portions as they really give a lot of Bok Choy. Wontons 4/5 consisted of shrimp and pork Beef stew 3/5 asked served on the side to not affect broth . Temperature should be hotter as it felt like it was lightly reheated. Broth 1/5 Not sure if they forgot to put MSG but the soup was bland. Definitely needs some chicken stock. Adding chili oil couldn't save it sadly. Service 5/5 Host was nice and even asked if I wanted to pack the left over tendons I had not eaten. Overall, they do have a vast menu ,hopefully the owner can influence the chefs to make adjustments to their wonton soup broth.

There are many tasty dishes that are a must order when I come here. Bring many people to help you eat everything. The service is prompt and the food comes out quick and just keeps on flowing, you'll run out of room on the table. The decor is a typical Chinese Restaurant with Asian art and lucky bamboo plants.

I really wanted to like this place. I was CRAVING Chinese food but Wow. So expensive. First time coming here and it will be my last. I ordered a combination chow mein- where I asked if the combination chow mein was chicken, shrimp and beef. The lady at the counter said yes but when I opened the box at home it also included squid and fish- my kids weren't fans. I also go their sweet and sour chicken which was good and their wonton soup. I kid you not, for these 3 items... $62 I added white rice and it looked like about a cup and a half for $8 more... I understand that prices have gone up but the pricing here was beyond understandable.

106. Deep Fried Flounder lunch
Karen W.

Chinese delicacy in a "American Chinese" like restaurant. Was craving for fish, and came across this deep fried Flounder dish here, and blown away with the fresh taste, light batter and crunchy texture. Restaurant is located near a Ranch 99 market, and was only Chinese restaurant in this plaza. Like many American Chinese restaurants, they serve local dishes, and you can ask for the real Chinese favorites too. The staff are busy because people are flown in and out, but you will get what you need in a relatively reasonable time.

I have been eating at Tasty kitchen since moving to LA in 2018. There isn't anything that I order that I don't enjoy. Our staples are always the: 1. Salt and pepper fish 2. Salt and pepper pork chop 3. Crispy house special pan fried noodle 4. Salted fish and chicken fried rice The Service is fast and the staff are always kind and helpful. We usually eat at home but have come here for their lunch specials from time to time.

Doo they serve rice with the meals or is it ordered separately?

Does anyone know when was the change of ownership as it is now Tasty Spot Cafe?

I went a month ago and asked when they changed ownership, they said a month ago....so, it's been 2 months then....

They shutdown on 6/30/2020?

Still open. Just went today 7/27/22

I called and heard a voicemail saying you'll be close until March 31st, or did you mean May 31st?

7/27/22: just bought a lunch special item there. Business is OPEN

BF was parking while I got in first to get a table. Before I was able to sit down, I had 3 people surrounded me. Busser asked me if I want tea, and two cart ladies pushing dishes on me. The one with all the steam dishes was so pushy but she had the Hao Goa (Shrimp dumpling) and chicken feet which we usually get. Food was not piping hot to begin with. Wrapping for Shrimp dumpling was mushy and a bit on the thicker side. All the other dishes were not memorable and nothing to write home about. But overall just not up to PAR. We asked the pushy cart lady if she had beef tripe and she said they could put in an order to get it steamed. The tripe never came but it was on our bill. So be sure to check your bill.

This Friday (September 19, 2025) my friend and I came here. There are two rooms for sitting and we were sat in the 2nd dining room with the AC going (thank you Little China) nothing fancy but just a homey atmosphere. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and seated. I had looked at the menu ahead of time and convinced my friend that we should order "meal for two A". We each picked our own entree (almond chicken and sweet&sour pork) and added the fried dumpling appetizer too. The A meal comes with wonton soup, pork fried rice, and fried wontons & egg rolls. All this and we received some kimchi banchan! We were not expecting a feast! The wonton soup was warm and flavorful with plump wontons and bamboo shoots, and peas...just so good! What I so appreciated about the food was that nothing was coated in a heavy sauce for the sake of coating things in a sauce. At Little China the food is the main character and that's what you're going to enjoy. The almond chicken was didn't skimp on the almonds. The sweet & sour pork was so crispy and the batter didn't get soggy in the sauce, just so perfectly balanced. The pork fried rice, HEAVEN!!! Yelp had this place on its list of recos, but there was something about this place that drew me in... ... and it turns out, I have actually been here before. But it has been about 30+yrs since, waaaaayyy before my Yelp years! (SIDE STORY: My GodMom and grandparents used to live a couple of blocks away from here and we often ordered food here back in the day.) They are incredibly popular. All their tables were occupied (granted, there were only three or four) but patrons coming through were non-stop. Staff were efficient as well because given the line (there were three people ahead of me) they got us outta there pretty quickly. I went for half white rice, half noods, black pepper chicken and fried chicken/wings. (NOTE: they packaged the wings separately so it doesn't get soggy from the black pepper sauce - love this!) They were good at providing disposable utensils as well as sauce packets. It didn't take long before I was on my way back to work. Noods had nice flavorful chew. Rice was fluffy. Fried chicken/wings was crispy and savory with a slight hint of sweet. But the black pepper chicken was AM.A.ZING!!! There was so much flavor packed in every bite and couldn't get enough of it! There wasn't a lot of fillers either, so that's a plus. Highly recommending this! FOOD: 5. SERVICE: 4. VALUE: 5. They give you enough for a second meal. PARKING: Lots of space shared with others. Not an issue. OVERALL: 4.5. I couldn't stop thinking about the black pepper chicken that I just had to come back the next day to have it again. Paired it with orange chicken on that second run. Not as great, but it is one of their more popular items. (Most people ahead of me ordered it and the pan got refilled during both visits.) So it was a delight coming through here again as it brought back tons of memories. I even remember making many stops at the laundromat next door. Also drove by my auntie's old house. Ahhhh, good times! I shall return! If only for the delicious black pepper chicken!

The pakkai (sweet sour pork) and almond duck were the absolute best. Fu Sing isn't quite as good as Tin Sing but it's as close as we're ever going to get again so I'm happy the bugs in the system have been worked out and I can order without aggravation. Some other specialties that were popular with the Gardena crowd were the steamed pork and the pork egg rolls which are like taking a stroll along memory lane. Hopefully they'll consider expanding into a full service restaurant rather than remaining a take out shop to bring back the Gardena experience that so many of my friends, family, and yes, even enemies enjoyed growing up.
