So, on Monday morning we arrived 20 mins before they opened and only had to wait additional 10 mins ! Needless to say, get there early! Food: THE LINE AND WAIT MAKES SENSE!! Everything was on point . I picked out the Nashville Hot Chicken and switched out the waffles for the Bacon Mac & Cheese! I don't even know where to start! It all came out hot and ready to consume! The chicken was perfectly seasoned and the Nashville Hot was hot, but in the best way! The Mac and cheese was the part that stole my heart y'all! It was may I say the best restaurant Mac and cheese I have EVER tasted. No lie. Cocktail : I picked out the Peach Cobbler dessert cocktail, and it took me by surprise! It was delicious and perfectly mixed! I'm usually not a big vodka girl, but it paired with their purée in such a way that it literally tasted like peach cobbler. My friend had the Hennessy Breeze which was also mixed well. She said "it did it's job" lol Service: Our server Gia was extremely friendly and attentive! Today was my first visit, aand I must say that I will happily return. Liv, the bartender took care of me. I requested suggestions for my meal and the lamb chops were on target. Exquisitely seasoned to the bone and she frequently checked on me. I'm rather quiet and don't ask for much but I was distracted by a personal issue. Liv seemed to sense it and checked on me while allowing me space to think about my challenge. The ambiance was exquisite due in part to the music selections. Worth. The. Wait. Three and a half hour wait to be exact but I'll explain further down. First things first... food. My meal was amazing. They say you can't substitute the rice and gravy which was odd to me but now I SEE why. It brings the meal all together. The greens, bomb. The smothered chicken, bomb. The truffle mac and cheese, pretty good. The cornbread - shaped like a mini waffle, bomb. Put it all together... an explosion of soulful flavor. Pictures don't do this food justice...you have to try it. The Hennessy Breeze wasn't all that memorable but if you like sangria, I'd assume you would enjoy it. I was initially thrown off because when you call (and no one picks up) the message says that they don't take reservations... but then you pull up and see a line to find out it's to make a reservation - mmmk. At the time of our visit it was a 3.5 hour wait... I'm glad we had other plans to take take up that time but sorry to those who must have just landed, got dropped off by their uber and had their suitcases with them... It requires a $50/person non-refundable deposit that's deducted from your bill; YOU WILL spend more than $50 a person. We were greeted by Missy who showed us to our table and repeatedly checked on our table while there. She gave some background on the restaurant and made some menu recommendations - she started off the experience on a positive note. Our server was also excellent as well. He was prompt, knowledgeable, and courteous. He also made some menu suggestions including the Hennessy sangria drink is started with (highly recommended). There were so many options on the menu I had a really hard time choosing but settled on the catfish and grits & specialty waffles. I had red velvet and peach cobbler waffles and they both tasted great. The catfish and grits was also seasoned very well and the portions were right on. This dish was underwhelming, as more fries come in a medium McDonald's fry order. Although the portion was small, the dish was good. I have been trying to get here for a while so finally I visited on Sunday. They don't take reservations and the wait is always long but we had decided we aware gonna wait it out. We both decided on the jerk rack of lamb but I got mine with sweet potatoes and a lobster tail and my wife had hers with collard greens and sweet potatoes. We also ordered a side of lobster smoked Gouda Mac n cheese. All,of the food was delicious the only issue I had was my medium lamb chops were a little over cooked but not enough to send them back. The carafes are $25, they use a whole bottle of champagne and you have 4 or 5 flavors to choose from. The main event is the chicken and waffles. They have 5 types of chicken and waffles ( including lobster tail and waffles) and they are all delicious. I had the General Tso but they also have Nashville Hot and Jerk chicken. The waffles were soft, pillowy, delicious and you can add a variety of toppings like cinnamon toast crunch. Both the chicken and the waffles were equally great and the hardest part of chicken and waffles is getting them both right which Taste did masterfully. I also ordered a side of mac and cheese which was also pretty good. I appreciated that the owner or manager walked around with free glasses of mimosas due to the wait.
