I've returned many times over during the time of COVID-19 and my opinion stands about the same. While it was normal for me to regularly find them out of stock on certain items (even before the current quarantine hit) the convenience and large variety made up for it. Any way you cut it, Target still offers a better selection in one place than almost any competitor except Walmart, which currently does not have a location as close to downtown. The inconsistent stocking means I may come in looking for an "all in one trip" experience but rarely get one. Their produce and dairy selection was always hit or miss. The men's clothing section is solid if they have my sizes. We do really like their baby clothes, bedding and housewares options. COVID-19 has made things far more unpredictable. On my last few visits they have been almost completely out of certain toys, like Legos for my son, or common household items like bleach which I can still manage to find elsewhere. read more

On Thursday (06/11/2020) at 8:02 PM, I purchased a Keurig Coffee (REC#5-0163-2492-0084-4810-5. VCD#752-251-636) at the store located at Sacramento East. Today (06/16/2020), I tried to return the Keurig Coffee Maker as the milk frother wasn't properly working. The staff was rude and told me that the serial number on the machine and box didn't match the one on the receipt, they rudely assumed that I purchased more than 1 machine and got my receipts mixed up. After almost 1 hour of waiting and assumptions, they told me that even if it was the store's mistake, all they could do was provide me with store credit because I didn't had a valid receipt. I told "Rachel" that the receipt given was the one they gave me on the day mentioned above at that time and that there was no reason to purchase multiple machines and then return them. Mariah or Maria, was the first one to assist me but she kept laughing at my concerns and rolling her eyes when I told her I didn't understand how come the receipt I was given was wrong. She then called Shane with the radio saying "can you please come? There is a problematic costumer that doesn't understand. Can you please tell him the same I told him to see if he gets it?" At the end, Shane came and told me that he understood, but even if it wasn't my mistake, there was nothing he could do. They gave priority to the other costumers who were before me, some of them in the same situation as me, others without even a receipt, and all of them were treated with respect. My only difference is that I'm brown and the other costumers were white. I felt discriminated and after so many years shopping at target, I'll have to say that not even Walmart made me feel this disappointment. I understand that I'm just 1 costumer out of millions, so probably losing my business is not as severe, but please be sure that I always enjoyed target in general and considered myself a respectful and honest costumer. Had the most unnecessary rude cashier right now. She asked if I wanted a bag and I originally said no. I had literally 3 toddler clothing items and 7 small items I could carry in my hand but being that I'm 7 months pregnant with a toddler I changed my mind on wanting a bag after she scanned 3 items. I said actually I will take a bag please. She looked at me and scuffed and rolled her eyes. I could NOT believe that a grown women was upset because I changed my mind on a bag?!?. I said I'm sorry I didn't think it was such a big deal never mind. She said no I'm already putting them in the bag you're getting the bag in a rude tone. She continued to be extremely rude for literally no reason other then me wanting a bag 3 items into her scanning. I don't see her name on my receipt but she was an older lady with long black hair, African American and she had long hot pink nails today on Friday October 11 working at 12:30 in the afternoon. read more

Over all my experience has been good. I have had an issue where I did a pick up order had a technical issue that didn't show up in the app or in the system. Luckily I had a confirmation email. The employee working the pick up nothing short of awful. The manger was nice and fixed the issue but can blame and entire store based on one bad apple. But it was rude enough that I wouldn't say it deserves at 5 star flawless review. read more

This is a newer and bigger location in Sacramento. I can usually find what I need in one visit. Some other locations don't stay as well stocked as this one. I went this location to return an item, I'm visiting from Socal, and I know how the whole return process works cuz I work at a Target in my city, and I returned the items and when I asked for cash she said she couldn't do that only to go back on the card and I know when the workers do that it's cuz they suspect the customer is doing a trash receipt or some type of scam, even though I had my receipt and the card I payed with so there's no way I was doing anything suspicious and this tall white old blonde lady was denying it and profiled me and was extremely rude and I told her I work at a target I know how this works as long as I have the card it's acceptable and she said that's nice and wanted me to insert the card still, after she asked me "what target do you work at?" So, you better plan on several minutes just to park your vehicle. 2. Security personnel: As soon as you walk in the door you will be frowned upon by Security. Apparently it is their conception that only criminals shop at their target store. 4. Restrooms: if nature calls... it would behoove you to put nature on hold. The Restrooms are disgusting and it doubles as a dressing/changing room for all. 5. The inside of the store: If you have made it this far and you have not yet garnered a headache from all of the unpleasantness, run out now!!! 6. Cashiers: Try as they might, all too many are not trained, when dealing with argumentative customers, or those underage persons purchasing alcohol, your wait time in line FREQUENTLY exceeds 5 minutes. 7. Self check out: MISERABLE! They never accept or return cash on transactions, IF they are even open. They have 4 self check-out registers, at least 1 of these 4 registers is always shut down and all too frequently 2 registers are designated as non-operational. THEN... Beware of iTunes gift cards. I purchased a $100.00 and I am aware all sales are final but when I got home and opened the card I found out that it was a used card. It seems the actual card was replaced with a used card and then glued shut. I called iTunes and they made me aware that the card was compromised and to return it to the store for a replacement. I went to Target and when speaking with associate at returns she calls her manager and says "someone else with an issue with an iTunes card." When I explained to the manager the problem she told me I had to call their corporate office. Came home and did that and I was told that it was not Target's problem. I needed to contact iTunes since they now had the money not Target. She also stated it was impossible for such a switch to happen in the store because they had cameras all over. Horrible experience before even entering the damn store. You have these solicitors set up shop right at the entrance AND exit doors...hounding customers for money to "donate" for their damn candy bars. Especially hounding the women and if you say no thank you or ignore them, they will talk mess to you LOUDLY. So damn rude. And they do it again when you're all out?! Why isn't target telling these jerks to gtfoh! Quit harassing our customers?! I'm surprised I dont see complaints of this. Then, the workers there, especially the night shift ones are terrible. Today was my first day working with Shipt and this store was my 3rd shopping location. In the craziness of shopping in a new location, shopping for a stranger and trying to get done on time, I forgot my wallet in the shopping cart. I didnt realize it until I got home. Luckily, the wonderful gentleman who took the carts in found it and turned it in to customer service. I was able to get all my belongings back quickly and without any fuss. This is the closest target to me. I've tried to get price matches here a few times or "couponing" and I ALWAYS have a hard time doing it. Half the time, they will not honor the deals or will flat out say "no!", even when I tell them it's their policy. When I do get a successful transaction, it takes forever since the managers/supervisors scrutinized everything I show them. Once, when I was checking out some items, the floor lead walked past the register and said to the cashier in front of me, "be careful with that deal". Very unprofessional. She made it look like I was stealing. Go to any other target in Sac and you'll have an easier time. I only go here and buy stuff full price with my red card now since getting deals from them is too much trouble (apparently). You've been warned. read more

Be aware that you will most likely be harassed at the entrance and exit by solicitors and panhandlers asking you for money, selling things like candy, or holding clipboards like they want signatures. This is a regular occurrence, especially in the afternoons and evenings after work. Security does nothing to stop them, and it appears that store management no longer cares. They will usually be in pairs or multiple people waiting at the entrance and then at the exit doors so there is no way to avoid them. Especially be careful if you are a single female who appears to be alone, because if you say no to them or ignore them, they will become aggressive and specifically harass you for not giving them what they want. It is unnerving and upsetting, especially when there's several of them and they are yelling after you like you're the one who did something wrong. I'm minding my own business--how is talking crap about me going to get me to give you the money you're begging for? Last night there was even someone who parked their wheelchair in the exit lane of the parking lot so you had to drive around them while they screamed at you for money. While this is nothing new for this location, the fact is that these types of people are becoming more aggressive, and apparently feel emboldened to do or say whatever they want since no one will stop them. Hopefully it doesn't lead to violence, but I am not confident anyone on their security team would do anything if I were to be assaulted--even at the front doors where their security is standing inside watching it happen. It's unfortunate because this location is generally okay for shopping and has a competent pharmacy. read more

2 weeks ago i purchased sweater in this store by the Elk Grove, Today i was trying to teturn it, Un-used, all the tag intact and with receipt but the lady in customer service rejected my return because she said it was like a christmas item, how can it be a christmas item when it's a sweater. This is the reason we don't shop in this store often, the only reason i shopped here is because we could not find the item and Target has it. But since they did not accept my return, i will be returning worth of $300 item. and i will tell my family not to shop in this store anymore. the sweater is $25 and the lady said it is now $17 so i asked of they can do adjustment since i bought it for $25 and it is now $17. she said they don't do adjustment, so meaning i did not wear the sweater and i have to pay $25 for nothing. read more

If your coolers are out, put a sign in the front so when I come for the ONE thing, I don't walk all the way through the store just to be told I can't open the cooler door because the power is out. Except it's not out, lights are on and I can feel the cold. When I asked if someone can get me the item I need, I was told no. Not frozen food, canned beverage that doesn't need to be cooled. We came here for an annual family Christmas gift game last night and it was a very nice target. They had free charging stations, pretty clean bathrooms, a water bottle filling station with fountains, a good Starbucks and overall I saw lots of employees cleaning and stocking. Everything I saw was fairly organized and clean. They were pretty stocked up as well and shelfs were pretty full. I would say they were low on Christmas items and decor but not sold out of stuff. Overall I would shop at this location regularly if I lived closer to it (we chose it for the convenient and large parking lot, late hours and solid reviews beforehand but I live in Davis). All the targets and places in Sacramento have been a little lax about enforcing mask policies but frankly that's not a deal breaker for me as long as staff are following the rules and they have signs posted/encouraging people. I don't expect minimum wage workers to fight karens and chads over masks (I'm triple vaccinated and choosing to shop indoors which is my own risk assessment choice). So I think the low reviews over that are a tad unfair and unrealistic in a rather purple area... Anyway, they were a little limited on womens and mens clothing in my opinion. They seemed pretty stocked on kids and babies, toys and games were decent too. Card aisle was solid as well. The clothing at target, generally speaking, wasn't my favorite this fall/winter season beyond loungewear and workout clothing so that's not a reflection of this store but a general note. read more

I have had the Target Credit Card for several months and use it for the 5% back. I did not realize you could not make payment through the store unless you have your card or invoice with you. Customer Service has no way of helping you other than those two items. Normally that would be fine however I moved and during the move I lost my purse, I know I know right? Well I was turned away and was told they couldn't help me so I had to call the credit card line to get help. This was a HUGE inconvenience since I had already driven over to the store to make the payment only to be told sorry we can't help you. On-line inventory is wrong! I called Target on 4th of July to confirm if they had a large drink cooler in the store as stated in their on-line inventory. The customer service guy would not physically check to see if one was there (lazy) but told me to order it on-line for pick up and if they can't find one then they would cancel the order in a couple of hours. What! I went to the store expecting two coolers to be there... of coarse they were out! Since I find it hard to believe that someone stole two 62 quart coolers it appears their on-line inventory is poorly kept...Shocker! After reviewing other items in their on-line inventory it appears Target will say they have "2" of something when in fact they are out and don't really care about being accurate. You wasted my time yet again...why don't you just rise the white flag and give up to Amazon! read more

A miserable place. The groceries look like Y2K just passed (empty shelves - yes I mentioned Y2K) Basically every department was ravished and empty. Made me wonder, does any one even work here. All throughout my college year, I have went to this Target, and I absolutely love it for my target run. Stock: We come here every time we need to grab some items for our house. For the most part, they're always in stock for grocery items. When it comes to make-up or face cream, it's a hit or miss. They are typically understaffed on the floor, which makes it a little difficult if you ever need to find something. I needed KrazyGlue and there was no one on the floor available. Another time we needed hair paste for my boyfriend and it was hard to find someone. Employees: Friendly and helpful when available. Can't complain. Parking: There's always parking at this Target, and for the most part, there's no carts left in open parking spots. The employees are really good at consistently putting away Carts. Everytime I come there, someones outside organizing the carts. Because of that, there's always parking close to the front. Environment: The demographic here is especially aware of others. There can be clutter sometimes, but for the most part, everyone puts away their baskets and carts. Little to no garbage on the floor, and mostly everyone here does their part and throws away trash where needed. I love it! Mostly college students and working adults. Everyone does their due diligence, and I love that about this Target. Overall, I love coming here. I would've given them 5 stars if their employees would restock more often. But other than that, this place is great and it's an awesome location. read more

I always go to this Target because its close to my house, its got plenty of other food/shopping options nearby, and its relatively clean/stocked. Any time I've asked for assistance, an employee has as been there to help. Parking is reasonable and an employee is always working hard to clear any floating baskets. I would recommend this Target to friends and family for its convenience and decent experience. Note: I did have an online pickup order go completely sour. The staff wouldn't let me pickup my purchase because in their system it had already been picked up or something. read more

I'm only giving 5 stars to the drive up girl last night! We had a drive up order and there was a lot of cars we were waiting for what seemed like forever but I honestly couldn't be mad when I saw the poor girl BY HERSELF pulling a cart full of orders and pushing a flat bed along with it! Once she got to the drive up area she immediately rushed to get everyone's order out and apologized for the long wait. Props to her she had a big & I assumed heavy item that she was calling for help to load it in the car & no surprise no one came out to help so she lifted it herself target definitely needs to give this girl a raise or something in recognition for her performance shown last night! I love this target , I've never had an issue here the manager who runs the store I've got to meet once when she was setting up a line for Starbucks cup release making it fair for everyone to get something without 1 person taking everything , these type of things mean a lot to me and it is why I continue to support this location , store is always clean and today my cashier Isaac was very kind and friendly . Seems that every time you go into this Target. You get up to the register and the price you see on the shelf tag is not what it rings up for! And it is not cheaper.! This time there was a five dollar difference On some socks. The other thing is they don't give a veteran Or military discount.
