This is, admittedly, a small Target, but I believe it serves its purpose for the area. I come here AT LEAST every other day to buy all types of things: Baby formula, diapers, toiletries, intermittent groceries, home decor, etc. The workers have been nothing but helpful to me during every visit. So much so that I ACTUALLY filled out one of those surveys ( ain't nobody got time for that). They have a limited selection of each item because of the sheer size of the place, but honestly, none of the places around FH have a similar selection without having to get on a train or trek it to the mall. I still docked a star for the size because it's essentially a "Target Express" meaning you don't get the true experience of getting lost in the aisles and buying $60k worth of items you don't really need. This target also has a Starbucks attached, which is nice and serves as an extra entrance. The entrance to this store is accessible, which helps because I'm frequently pushing a stroller. I am, and will continue to be, a frequent shopper here. read more

Wow I am shocked at all the negative reviews from my new local target. I've only visited a few times and they were pleasant experiences. I've never seen it really busy in the store. It really is a small target and connects to Starbucks which is cool. I enjoy the downstairs area better with household and food items. Its cool to have a closer target in the event I order something online and can have it delivered to this location. Customer service seemed okay, staff always appear busy. I didnt find what I needed and proceeded to Rite Aide down the block. I love the self check out registers especially if you only have a few items. read more

Someone answered and said, not to me specifically, "What's happening?" I said "Hello?" several times and was not acknowledged. I tried calling back several times. No one is answering the phone. Employees here are incredibly rude. Items are constantly out of stock. I've seen entire aisles that are practically empty. Escalators frequently broken and become a tripping hazard with no signs or any warning to customers. Self checkouts regularly out of bags. There's no rhyme or reason as to what's locked in the glass cages (laundry detergent locked up but expensive makeup is not?? cheap Dial body wash is locked but shampoo is not??) and it takes forever to get an employee to open them, assuming the button isn't entirely broken off like it is in some aisles. The only reason this miserable location still has my business is that it's a five minute walk from my apartment. Avoid if at all possible. read more

They finally have a semi-convenient Target here though I don't live in that area anymore. Came here to browse and did find some sorely needed water bottles. Their grocery selection is okay but they definitely have a better selection of items than the location on 33rd Street. The store layout is definitely fresh & modern along with being easy enough to find things. First thing I thought of when I walked the entire Target.. where's the rest of the store? This store has a little bit of everything that a real Target has to offer. I would think of this as a larger Rite Aid than a Target. I was looking for toothpicks and lightbulbs and couldn't find toothpicks whatsoever. Lightbulb selections were limited to only 3 small shelves. When this used to be a Barnes and Nobles filled with books, it definitely looked much bigger. If you're looking for a real Target, you might want to skip this one and go to the one on Queens Blvd instead. read more

Not bad. Much smaller than the giant Target stores but it has a small selection of everything from clothes, toiletries, house items to food, candy, makeup. It's just enough to get you through the basics and necessities you may need. Small checkout area but they have four self check out counters which is convenient. read more

Is this even Target? Or are they using a stolen sign? For the first time, it wasn't hard to leave Target. A lot of things out of stock & only XL clothing. I couldn't find any athletic apparel in a S or M. Went to the men's section to find some shirts for my Dad & no M or L either. To say the least, a lot of things appeared well organized. They had a nice decor display. But I was already checked out (mentally) so I grabbed my pack of paper towels and got on their questionable looking check-out line. First of all, this Target is not a real Target. It's like a pint size Target. It's basically a glorified Duane Reade with a small grocery section and better prices. They are often out of things in the produce section if you go at night. My main issue with this convenient place where I stop at frequently after the gym is the check-out line. There are like 5 cash registers -- but rarely are more than two of them being used by cashiers. There are about 4 or 5 machines for self-checkout, but often at least one is broken and the other one is occupied by some nitwit who has no idea how to use the machine and delays the entire process for everyone else. Note: if you don't know how to use self-checkout, then wait on the other line for the cashier. Correction: Duane Reade is actually probably bigger than this Target. read more

You know how the loudest voice in the room is also usually the dumbest? Well, that would be "Charlston" the goofy cashier who was glaringly obviously born and raised in Queens and a product of the NYC public school system. And have you ever found yourself in a circular argument with someone who's just not that bright and doesn't see the big picture and it's just a waste of time and energy? That would be "Anna" the manager. I bought several items of activewear which went on clearance for 50% off just a couple of weeks later. I took my receipt in for a price adjustment. They threw up all kinds of roadblocks including: - We don't carry those items at *this* Target - Well, it's a higher price online - You need to take this to Queens Place where you made the purchase - There's a 7 day limit on price adjustments - Store policy? We don't have a store policy. It's not on the receipt and no, it's not posted anywhere in the store either. UM, WHAT?! I just brought the whole lot back and returned it. Shopping at Target is not a good deal anymore. I don't like feeling like I just got mugged. The items were a "want" and not a "need" so I'm not giving these clowns my hard-earned discretionary dollars. Vote with your feet. read more

This place used to be a local Barnes & Noble store. After the beloved book store retreated from the neighborhood, Target has taken this location. I'd like to say though this location has a two-floor space, it is way too small for a traditional Target store. The problem is this store wants to keep as many categories of products, then it turns out they can only afford a small collection for each of them. Several times I could not even find the products on their weekly AD, and had to visit another Target store at Queens Place. Majority of their staffs are nice and helpful, but the self checkout kiosks are the big headache. These machines are more complicated than the ones in CVS, and always cause problems to the customers. Many times you will see the cashiers need to leave their spot and help customers using these kiosks. This is a joke and causes a long line in front of the checkout desk. This store needs a better management for sure. Despite all the inconvenience, this store will still be my first Target store to go, simply because it locates in the walking distance from my home. read more

I love target but this target is an EXPRESS TARGET. I repeat THIS IS AN EXPRESS TARGET aka they don't have anything in stock. They don't even have infant baby clothes. The point of target is to have anything and everything you may need in one place. I don't know what the purpose was of opening this target up considering there's a fully stocked target less than 15 minutes away from this one. If you need to pick up little things that you can find in a CVS, then this is fine. But if you need to find other things then do notttt come here. Clearly I didn't know it was an express target before i got here. So frustrating. read more

This Target seems small compared to the other Targets I've been to. I came here looking for one item in particular; Method Daily Shower/Bathroom spray, the ylang ylang scent. They didn't have it. They only have the Lysol brand cleaning stuff, to which I thought it was discontinued but then figured this store is small so they only carry the basics items. I'd have to go elsewhere to search for it. So if you're not particular about the items, this place is a good place for you. Super small Target. Compared to the one on Queens Blvd. in Elmhurst where I normally go, this was super underwhelming as soon as I walked in. Since the size is significantly smaller, I expected the selection to be smaller and less varied as well. However, I think it has the basics in every department, and in terms of groceries, you can get what you need to make a decent meal. Produce looks fresh and they had a good amount of organic options. I kind of miss the Barnes & Noble that was here, but the free market dictated its irrelevancy and I got sick of reading complaints on various local Facebook groups from people who used B&N as a library (reading, then restocking the shelves, and never buying anything). in a pinch, this Target suffices for quick needs, but overall I am not impressed. it does not have the full Target selection. HOWEVER - in contrast to the many low-energy cheapo general stores in the area, you can find better quality items here, so it does have that going on. self-checkout, surprisingly, is almost always functional (in contrast to, say, CVS or supermarkets). there are usually low quantities in stock of whatever you find, so grab it before one of the pushy Forest Hills old-timers grabs it. these are probably the same old people who steal sad vegetables from the depressing Key Food on Yellowstone. sometimes I think the rent in this area is justified by the utter goofiness of the locals. I've yet to see the guy who wears a MAGA hat and blasts InfoWars from his radio here, but I'm hoping it's just a matter of time before we meet here and exchange dank memes. read more

I have come to accept this Target and it's shortcomings, but today thanks to one employee the store hit a new low. I requested a simple return and informed the employee (shorter, stout, dark complexion woman) that I have the confirmation email, but no receipt. Instead of offering any customer service and trying to think of options to help me process the return, she immediately said it's impossible. Then when I asked for a manager's assistance, because I would like to avoid an extra trip if possible, she became extremely flustered and began to not so quietly mumbling disrespectful words as she walked away. The manager offered an option within seconds and processed my return. Going back to the disgruntled worker, even though I was appalled a professional would say such things to their customers, it is more disappointing to see the lack of effort and engagement in her part. The manager's solution was not even a complex one. It would be nice to see employees take more pride in what they do and remember they are representing not just themselves, but their company and more importantly the brand as well. This store is an Express Target that is 4x smaller than the actual one and prices are 10-20% more than if you were to order online. Disappointed with the kids apparel section--THERE IS NONE. I wanted to go in to get some hair clips and socks for my toddler. I'm hoping they will eventually expand the toys/school supplies/sports section. Pros: The automatic doors are convenient for stroller pushers; selected produce available; cvs pharmacy on upper level; Starbucks on the lower level (adjacent to the store); friendly staff Cons: prices are slightly more than target.com so I would probably get last minute items at this store; No free pickup at this location; and too many different brand of beers that took up a row of fridges!! Not too shabby for a replacement of Barnes and Noble. Did I like Barnes and Noble? Sure I did but let's be honest, for years, B&N was nothing more than a public restroom to most goers on Austin Street. There was barely ever a line at the register, teenagers would flock around the graphic novel section, hoard up the aisles and treat the bookstore as if it was a public library which it was to some degree. With Target as the new guys on the block, I think they are finding much more success than B&N has in the last 10 years. The checkout process is much easier with their self checkout registers. Hardly anyone uses them which I love because I can skip the entire line. The lower level consist mostly of apparel, exercise equipment, office/school supplies, some small kitchen appliances, bed and bath, and a clearance section. The upper level has electronics, toys, makeup, soap/shampoo, food, and a CVS pharmacy. What I found the most surprising was their clearance shelf. I purchased a 6 person Coleman tent for $49.99! original price was $100, 50% off, not too bad. I pealed back the clearance sticker and the first clearance sticker was priced at $69.99. I was quite pleased with this purchase because I am planning a family camping trip hopefully sometime next year. Verdict - I loved the old Barnes and Nobles for many reasons back in the day. It was just a great spot to kill time before a movie, reading up on current car magazines and flipping through cook books. It was an ideal spot for book lovers but over time, there were just less and less book buyers. Everything is made available online through amazon or digital copy. In present time, I just find Target much more useful and convenient than B&N on Austin Street. The Starbucks is still there and TGIFridays recently renovated. I think the future of Austin Street is heading into the right direction. read more

This is hands down the worst target I have ever seen/been to. The employees aren't familiar with the where the product is located, ie coffee. The store is a hot mess and we went in the morning so you would think it would be somewhat clean from the night before. It had clothing on the floor, the food section was half gone, has way less options then any target I've seen ( its almost like a larger duane reade) In addition we had a coupon to use here that was sent as a welcome to people in the area and it expired the day before, and they didn't want to honor it, Left without buying anything. Although I was sad to see Barnes and Noble go, I am very happy with this Target. Yes, it is small but this is the space they had to work with. There are two floors which helps divide the space well; groceries and personal items upstairs and home goods, misc downstairs. As a busy mother I really appreciate this Target because I can easily grab things I need for my young children and for my house all in one place. I find the prices to be reasonable. For example, we use Lactaid milk daily and the Target brand is more than a dollar cheaper than regular Austin street prices. I love saving money on the items I need daily so this is very convenient for my budget. I also love the up and up brand because its comparable to brand name items and cheaper. I go to this Target almost every day - I never did that before because the Elmhurst Target is too far from where I live even though I could walk there its not convenient for a quick stop. I walk everywhere. I needed something like this close to my home because of my time constraints. The selection and variety has improved greatly. Yes the clothes are a bit pricier than online but the groceries are a good deal. I also love that Starbucks is literally next to it which is a detail from the old Barnes and Noble layout. Absolutely awful. This review has nothing to do with the employees at all. It has to do with the structure of this store as a whole. The target company should be ashamed to have this place running with their name on it. I have had nothing but bad experiences there. There is not enough staff. You could never find anyone working on the floor. And the check out. Haha you might as well bring a tent and camp out. The self checkouts are awful and frequently broken. And there is ONE, yes ONE person actually manually checking out. You know. The excitement that was felt when the target was being built has soon gone away as soon as I walked in that store. Ashamed. I had high hopes for this target after hearing it was replacing my beloved Barnes and Noble. This target is only a block away from my apartment. It is my go to spot whenever I need groceries or any cleaning supply. Eventhough they have very limited selections of items, I'm glad it is in the neighborhood. It has been extremely difficult if I want to grab grocery quick ever since Keyfood across the street went out of business. read more
