Target is Target. If there's one thing that Target does better than most of its competitors, it's consistency. Once you're in the door you pretty well know where everything is going to be because it's in the exact same location as the other Target you were in last week (unless the store is flip, in which case just switch 180°). Other general merchandise chains (you know which one I'm referring to, that's blue and has a yellow sunburst in its logo) there are can be innumerable difference from one store to the next, even in stores in the same town. Target also excels in cleanliness. I've never seen a Target that wasn't clean and well organized. The clothing return section can get a bit crowded, but it's not unsightly because you know it's a work in progress. Target has a great selection of merchandise from not only the national brands, but from their own lines as well. I was glad when they started their grocery section because it offered more of a one-stop-shop opportunity. I could never shop at Target for my main grocery shopping because its offering fall short of a typical "Let's shop for the family for a week" retailer, but if need a quick item or two and don't want to stop somewhere else on the way home, they'll probably be able to accomodate. Target does lack a good variety of International foods. Target pricing is very competitive and sometimes comes in under other retailers. They do offer a pretty good rewards program, but it's not too straight-forward and for some reason you HAVE to use their app to claim it. Treated me terrible and said I was crazy for saying I don't have fiber at my house (which I don't). No tractor has come to my neighborhood and dug fiber. This is a nice Target in a nice area of town. Which made it odd that upon walking in, the entire entrance smells like the sewer. The bathroom was really dirty, as if no employee had done a check-in for hours. Also, the fitting room clearly has a sign in front that says it closes at 9. It wasn't even 8 o'clock yet, and it was closed. Seems like there's some unfortunate negligence going on at this location. read more

Are we still having supply chain issues in September 2022? Because this Target was out of stock in multiple areas where I was shopping this evening. It started in the parking lot which had trash about. Crushed cans, paper, cardboard. This was in the "Target" area, not over by the Tesla charging stations. Not cool. Even the bin closest to the entrance was overflowing. Let's just compare experiences to illustrate why I love this Target and loathe its competitor Walmart. A few days ago, I needed two items, and both were available in-store at this Target. So I bought them online and selected pickup. They were ready in only 42 minutes. I parked, walked to customer service just inside the main doors, and the kind employes had retrieved my order in probably 60 seconds, maybe 90 at the most. And I was on my way to run other errands. Now that's efficiency, but it's simply what I expect everywhere. Well ... ... a week ago, I needed one item that was in stock at the Cool Springs Walmart, and I was going to be a block away running another errand. I knew it would take 10 minutes for me to find it in the store. So I begrudgingly placed a pickup order for efficiency's sake with the store that I strongly dislike. I showed up and walked in, but Walmart no longer does walk-in pickups. I was told by an employee to park in a numbered spot on the side of the building and call the phone number in my email or in my text. "But there isn't a number," I replied. The employee rudely retorted, "Yes there is!" I parked in a numbered spot, looked at both the text AND the email from Walmart, and there is definitely no phone number! So I checked in on their app to let them know I was there. Now, I quickly noticed there was a phone number on a sign just for pickup orders, so I called it even though I had checked in. It was the store's general number, but you can select 4 for pickups. I called for 30 minutes straight, continuously redialing, and nobody ever picked up the phone. It took 30 minutes for someone to respond to my check-in and come to the car with one item in a bag. All the cars around me also waited for 30 minutes for their orders. Now who in the world - outside of retirees - has time to wait half an hour for one item at Walmart, and why would anyone in their right mind do Walmart pickup? Me and my mom were shopping and the check-out went smoothly. As we were heading to the exit, a couple ran behind us allowing the alarm system to go off. The couple had stuffed pockets, no bags, and no visible receipt. My bag and receipt were visible. My mother and I were the only ones stopped, and the couple accused us of stealing and continued running out the door. Once I allowed the cashier to recheck our receipt and items for any security tags, we were cleared and once we exited the alarm did not go off. This was discriminatory because 1. Me and my mom were on camera checking out our items, with a receipt. 2. No employee put effort to stop the couple just me and my mom. 3. Once we got rechecked the alarm system did not go off again meaning, we did not flag it the first time. Being targeted by a store will lose revenue. I will no longer spend my money here. I respect all protocols but only if they are enforced fairly against all races. I will never shop here again. read more

This target has been under renovation for what feels like forever. You can tell this as soon as you walk in and see everything moved around. It feels like they don't have as big of a selection as some targets do. There is an ulta here now, but honestly I preferred it before they put it in. Ok so this was kind of an interesting experience with some weird things that just don't make sense. First off I went there to try and purchase a new car seat for my daughter. After the extensive amount of research I have done I knew exactly what safety features and options I needed the new car seat to have and I found it on the demo Shelf. However I also discovered that to that model was nowhere to be found on this Shelf. I left the aisle with my daughter and began to look for an associate wondering all the way to the other end of the electronics department and then all the way back to the clothing section and saw no one until I was halfway through the clothing section. I told you I woman with a round bag although I didn't get a look at it very well at first that seemingly looked like a Target associate just with a darker color red shirt. I asked him if he worked there and he very promptly told me no I do not and then went about into the clothing section deeper and further out of sight. I thought to myself well it took 20 years but I finally asked somebody if they worked here and they didn't. Now the reason I bring this particular part up is because about 15 minutes later I crossed paths with this individual again and there he is with a scanner device that looks like a cell phone and a very plain as obvious Target name tag that plain as day says Target on it. I have no idea why the gentleman would lie to me and tell me that he did not work there when he clearly did and was clearly doing work but it's not in any way shape size reform professional. I ended up finding another person all the way back at the front of the store near the entrance that I was able to ask to come and help me. She told me that she would definitely get somebody headed my direction and I told her I would happily go back to the aisle with the car seats. She said that was fine she would send somebody on their way. Unfortunately after 15 minutes of standing there no one came by and no one was paged or notified either. I ended up stopping 2 other associates that were walking by and they decided to help me and were able to confirm that there were five of them present in the store but none on the Shelf in the store. They told me they were looking for a manager in charge that is able to get the inventory. It took forever but they finally were able to put one of these particular booster seats in my hands and I was very grateful for that. Overall I was very impressed with the length of effort that the final two people went through to get me taken care of but cannot for the life of me understand why one person flat-out denied working at the store when they did, and why another person said they would send assistance but never did. Overall I ended up taking almost an hour to get this car seat because of this which is honestly too long even considering the fact that it's low staff and I know that people are busy and there's plenty of Grace for that oh, but when I'm having to stand around because Associates are denying their employment and not wanting to do their jobs it is a completely different story. read more

Asked if I could buy the item and have them bring it up here but apparently the electronics employee doesn't know where to look. Now my $50 is in limbo the entire weekend until the refund hits. If I could give this store a 0 star rating I would. I have never been to a Target store that did not Price Match with their competitor!! I went to this Target on 780 Old Hickory BLVD store #1983 at 8am. I spoke with two store employees and one employee spoke with a manager. They would not price match an item for me they said it was a "glitch" They would not honor the sale that Walmart has on the Oil of Olay soaps! I showed them the app and they refused!!! One of the managers allegedly told the employee "If you can add them to the cart you can get them." Online it specifically says "in store purchase only" so how would I be able to add to cart? I also asked for their corporate number or HR number and they did not have them. So they said. Terrible experience ! Other Targets would honor the price match policy. I have a gift card and I wanted to buy a Kindle, I went to ur store in Brentwood TN and when I told them I had a $75 gift card from Target and I'll pay the remaining in my card they declined to sell it to me saying that they do not accept gift cards in electronic, I said even ur gift card ? It's from ur own store they said it's a new policy and they can't do anything but.. here come the twist ! I was able to use the gift card online and u guys are ok to accept it there. I need to take this for a gift and I need it at that moment so I went with my receipt thinking well I bought it online they can't give it to me...WRONG!! TARGET employee said the Flex guys (I guess the ones fulfilling the online order ) where not there and My order will be ready till tomorrow and they even asked a manager they said I had to come back the next day... at this point I was frustrated one because I believe it's some honest stupidity that they can't accept my gift card in the store but online was ok ! What's the difference? This Target is hard to shop because it's so messy. When we walked up to the store both garbage cans were packed with garbage. Inside we went to grab a cart and one had a rotten banana in it covered in ants (obviously had been there for a while). Then we walked by the huge check out lines. I just wanted to say that I am very disappointed in Target Online Ordering. I added $90 worth of girls clothing for my granddaughters to my Target shopping cart. I needed to have them shipped to a military base in Okinawa Japan. I went through all the ordering steps but when I came to the shipping page to add the shipping address it would not take it. It kept giving me errors. I formatted the FPO and AP exactly how it was stated on there website but it still gave errors. I immediately contacted customer service through the chat feature and they told me to contact the second level customer service department and they gave me the number. I called them and once again explained my address input issues. They asked me for the address and I provided it to him. He tried several times to input the address in the system but again it wouldn't take it. He told me that there was nothing more he could do. It clearly states on your website that you do ship to FPO AP addresses. I realize some items are restricted for those shipping addresses but I checked every item I added to cart for any restrictions and there was none. One of the main reasons I chose to order from Target was because free shipping is offered. Now I have to have everything shipped to my home address and ship it myself. This is unacceptable considering you advertise that you ship to military bases. I would have cancelled my order if it had not been for the fact that the girls already picked out specific items in the cart. This is about the 10th time that I have left this particular target extremely frustrated. The employees at this target are awful. They are lazy and do not do their job or they don't even speak English and have no idea what is going on. I have nothing against people who don't know English but it is definitely hard to communicate when I have a question or need help. Just about every time I go in they don't have what I need because their restocking is horrible, especially in the food area This particular time, I ran into target for one thing, hot dog buns. When I got to the bread aisle they only had about 10 loaves of bread and one pack of hamburger buns... Nothing else. I figured that someone was supposed to restock them but didn't get to it or something so I asked an employee if they had any hotdog buns in the back. The first person I asked had no idea what hotdog buns even were and said that she's not in charge of that... The second person I asked also had no idea what I was talking about because she also didn't speak English... I tried to chase down two other employees that were clearly avoiding me and went into the back and shut the door behind them. I decided to check out with one bottle of hairspray that was on sale but the lines were crazy long because there were only two registers open. This was on a Saturday at 4:30 by the way. The lines were going so slow and the self check out was an even longer line so I just put my stuff down and left without buying anything and went to Publix which had about 20 different types of hot dog buns fully stocked. I am a Target red card member and live practically next door to this "Brentwood" Target but I have started going there much less often because of reasons like this. Best of the Nashville-area Targets I've been to. If you're depressed, come here. The lighting I am pretty sure is the happy-light spectrum. Brilliant move on their part. Everything looks beautiful at this store, it's like they've rubbed glamor into your eyes. Masterful presentation. Parking - whew, I don't know how so many crappy parkers can park in one parking lot. In 1 aisle yesterday there were 4 cars taking up two parking spaces. I'm going to advise you to park pretty far away. The clarion call of this Target is not heard by the able-to-park alone. At least on Sundays, park far, far far away... Also, I don't know how it's possible, but every time I go there (with the exception of last time) one of my friends manages to be in the store. Target is life. Target is everything. We all love Target and spend way too much money there. I usually enter Target and get sucked into a black hole of shopping. However, this Target has me going in for what I need and getting out. First off, this place is always a mess. When I go into the shoe department, there are shoes all over the floor, the styles are poorly displayed, and the clearance selection is a disaster. This goes for the clothing department as well. The clearance section needs a lot of work. I get that it's hard to keep things organized with so many shoppers. I worked retail. But it's just the organization of it all that bothers me. Another problem I have with this location is so many things are out of stock, constantly. More so in the Home department. I find myself having to order a lot of things online instead. I'm also surprised how I never find home stuff on clearance at this location. I know it's not the stores fault but when I went to my local Target in Wisconsin, there was always stuff on sale. And it was very organized. I always have to search the end racks at this location for find clearance items. When I do find some items, they are thrown on the end rack with a bunch of random stuff. It just looks really tacky. The customer service here is very hit or miss. I've had some great help at the customer service desk. I had one terrible experience where the worker was extremely rude to me for no reason. I was returning a pair of pants with the tags still on and a receipt. I won't get into it but I felt very uncomfortable when it should have been an easy return. Unfortunately, this is the closest Target to me so I'll keep going back. I get that stores get busy and things get messy. But compared to other Targets, this one needs some help. This Target is pretty dang good. I've been to a decent amount around the country, and this location would rank as one of the best. It's impossible for me to get outta there, unfortunately, without spending a ton of money. And Target is just one of those places where you are always coming across things that you "really, really need" (ya right). But, I love that they carry a decent chunk of my "need" list, so I'm not running ALL over town. The store IS clean and bright...organized in a logical manner. It's run like a well-oiled ship. Who wouldn't love that? It blows away the nasty cool springs location, and ANY Walmart. Parking is difficult. Also, many times a few more people could be working the check out to help thin out the crowd. But, overall, this store deserves a "bravo"! read more

I originally came here looking for a swimsuit... yup, it's wintertime, I know. Well, in case your wondering, I needed it for an indoor waterpark (during vacation), since I forgot to bring mine from home. Well, either I did not look hard enough because, when I went the 1st time, I had to go to the clearance section and buy whatever they had. Then, I came back several days later and saw a whole section of them. ** Nodding my head in disappointment a bunch (when I saw it) ** Wasn't thrilled at all. Anyway, I think during our entire stay in Nashville, I visited this Target store a total of 3 times. It's not the Super Target store I am used to back in Baton Rouge (Louisiana), so if you're looking for produce, it's minimal, but if you're looking for boxed foods, snacks, etc, they definitely have all that. I even placed an order on-line for an in-store pick-up. Wow, that was easy. It was Christmas Eve and picked up the order from customer service and it was a cinch (bring your ID and QR code from order). I was actually surprised that it wasn't crazy busy in there on Christmas Eve. I purchased some other items we needed for our hotel room for the rest of our stay and I bought some clothes. Shopping is something I dread the most, so I try to get it done as quickly as possible. Their men's section was a little disappointing, but I was able to a few cool things for my hubs. This store is located just off the I-65 and there are plenty eateries close by, so keep that in mind when shopping. Parking (even during the holidays) was still pretty easy. I guess people aren't really shopping in stores a whole lot during the holidays anymore. Is that it? The customer service was fairly good, too.
