Very good school with clear communication and good leadership. I'm an agent, and the teachers I've sent to this school give glowing feedback about their time at Tarabya read more

It's a great place to work or study. The teachers genuinely care about the students and the students are really engaged in the classroom and in their studies, the graduates have great success in their university choices, that's a message in itself. i have been visiting for many years and always had very positive experience. read more

Okay where to start... definitely not a 1 star school for sure. Most people reviewing this school hasnt seen any "bad" schools. Now the management sucks. Jonzie and Janet are doing their best in my opinion but mehmet bey is a rip off. 1) Unlike most reviewers I studied there 4 years(highschool). Yes at first it was a new school and had a lot of scandals but honestly it got way better over time. This school got 3 stars in total from me because some teachers and staff worked very hard and most of these untitled brats reviewing this place didnt see their efforts. From what i observed they blame everything on janet and jonzie and trust me they arent the bad guys. I made some amazing memories there and the subjects i studied were very fun. Maybe I was lucky about my teachers or my timetable, I dont know but it was a great highschool experience. hOwEvEr! 1) God as much as I love the staff some were huge lazy slackers with egos (probably because most staff was recently graduated and didnt have much experience teaching or they were depressed or something.) The school needs to check their staff throughly and inspect and join classes.(since some had issues with working permit and one even claimed to graduate from a uni he didnt but whatever mistakes can happen they should be more careful but i hope they changed since i left) 2) They lie to advertise. Yall; there is NO dual diploma. OR no german as second language. Oh and not all graduates go to international universities. Many stayed in Turkey because either the advisors mixed up their documents, their a levels had issues due to terrible teaching( not the teachers fault honestly turkish teachers dont really know how a levels work so they should have done more seminars or something) I begged the school to remove those from their websites and advertisements but nope they didnt. SO keep in mind: you dont get a dual diploma and no german sorry darlings and OBVIOUSLY unless you have the money no education abroad is guaranteed. Also i heard the art students' a levels got pretty effed up since their old teacher ran off and the other one was fired and meliha mixed up the dates or so; i am not really sure since i never took art but my mates complained a lot. 3) NOT WORTH THE MONEY AT ALL??? I was on a scholarship so that was cool and all but jesus christ that money is going to waste. The owner mehmet bey is very stingy. Seriously unless you have scholarship its a waste of money. NOW a review must include the good points so here they are; 1) Almost all staff is very friendly. Now unlike most schools you can go upstairs and complain and the people are so friendly and helpful; they will do their best to fix the problem you have. I have never seen a better communication with the higher ups in another school. And they are VERY forgiving and understanding and WILL help you if you ask for help. Even if you make mistakes they know we are all human. 2) The counselor was amazing. She always helped me and calmed me down before exams. She was very sweet and caring and did everything she could with her authority. 3) Jonzie and Janet. No words just love them. You get to know them and you never forget them. They seem cold but they are very sweet people and hardworkers who are funny. And trust me no other principal or princ. Asst. is this fun. 4) Rather than a student you feel appreciated as an individual. In my experience in these 4 years hell yeah i complained a lot and demanded things but so many of them were out of their abilities lol. But they tried to fix almost all of them. Im very glad about that. 5) ahh; my favourite. The no turkish/arabic/any other language except English rule. I doubt they still have it but guys you can complain as much as you want but once you graduate you can see how much that improves your language skills. (Especially if you arent a native speaker like me. I came to that school with 0 english knowledge.) 6) The grades. Unlike almost all schools in turkey you get high grades in TBS. I didnt realize that until i graduated tbh my knowledge in tbs helped me in university a lot. 7) Its a family. We started small but grown so big so maybe the family feeling is lost but the community is very friendly. Now my tips for those who want to survive TBS aka Total Bullcrap School in student slang. 1) Boy you pay a lot true but dont demand impossible things. 2) If a teacher is being illegal report them. If the higher ups dont care say youll call the police and they will care. If a teacher i dont know hits on you hello thats illegal just saying 3) If someone bullies you the counselor will try to help. But honestly if she cant after doing her best its not the schools fault. They can only give them suspension and discipline committee unless they physically harm you sorry man thats the law. But if it gets bad beg the higher ups and they will try their best. If things get physical get physical back stand up for yourself be confident. Have a great time at tbs :) read more

I attended this school in the year of 2016. Abroad, I used to attend one of the most prestigious and acadamically competitive British schools, so I was fairly familiar with the system and held a high standard of education. In Istanbul, the number of schools offering the cambridge international curriculum was very limited and at the time TBS seemed convenient especially with all the marketing and advertisement they had going. When the school year began, I was in complete disbelief and denial. The timetable was very disorganized and the teachers obviously had minimal experience with the curriculum. I was also pushed into dropping two A level subjects because the teachers did not want to make time for me nor was I provided with material when I suggested independent studying. Majority of students had no work ethic, consequently the teachers were lazy and did not structure their classes. The timetable split was very ineffecient and non of my teachers managed to even cover up to 70% of any subject or when they did, it was not done properly. I found that students who actually cared about their grades studied independently at home and utilized all the school "free" time which was difficult to do when there was no defined place for working and primary children running everywhere. The science labs were lacking in equipment and one of them was ridiculously small and badly designed, but that didnt matter since the teacher never bothered to do any practical work in the first place. All students had to take Global prespectives, IELTS, leadership and sports which could have been great and beneficial if they were taught seriously which means they added up to the total time wasted. I cannot emphasise enough on how much TIME was wasted every single day whether because of the iressponsible teachers who dont come to the class or neglected the syllabus, the unproductive events or the ridiculous timetable. One thing I want to mention is how terribly invigilated the actual cambridge exams were because of their managment disorder. Overall, as a student who is invested in my education, I had the worse experience in this school. For an outsider, it is very easy to be attracted to this school when the staff seems nice as well as when their social media makes it look like they provide solid education. If you are looking to pass your A levels and engage in productive activities, this school is not for you. Maybe it changes for the better in the future, but from my experience, it still has a long way to go. I tried to keep this short and vague but I can honestly go into much more detail on why this school is a waste of time, money, and energy as well as mentally draining. read more

They do anything to get money. The quality therefore depends on your luck. Most of the money goes into promotion or the chairman's new cars, but definitely not into education. Think twice, if you want to put your kid here. Success is rare, taking money from all side including staff and teachers their business strategy. Do not judge them by their website! read more
