This place is the best of the best.
I was fortunate enough to spend a week there with my family as one of the first groups to spend extended time at the amazing Tara Iti.
From the staff to the food to the golf course this place is pure amazing.
Over my seven day stay I played golf six times and each round was enjoyable and sufficiently different and challenging (I am not a great golfer, carrying a 24 index at the moment) thanks to changing wind conditions. This course really is the cream of the crop, the most fun I've had at any course with the way the ball rolls and the fact that the sand is a waste area and not a bunker means you can ground the club and hit practice shots, allowing someone of lesser skill (me!) to still pull off some decent shots.
The beauty of this course is that as it is walking only you really experience the nature and the turf. You hear the birds chirping, the feel the wind, and you learn about the course from your caddy.
This course may not be accessible to most but if you do have the opportunity I highly recommend giving it a shot.
As for the food and accommodations in the member cottages, both are absolutely fantastic. I'll save describing them at length but bottom line is if you have the opportunity to visit you really must seize upon the opportunity.
PS: Don't forget to try the Amisfield Rose, it's delicious and very reasonably priced. read more
