First time here, it was a Wednesday night and we were able to find a seat quickly. We came in about 7 minutes before HH ended (we didn't know about) but our waiter informed us and let us put an order in really quickly. Great customer service. Our waiter was really nice and all the other employees passing by gave us a smile. We ordered the buffalo wings, bacon/cheese fries, and the Guinness draft from the HH menu. The fries weren't that good but everything else was okay. I tried the Mililani Melon and loved it. A nice place and definitely a great vibe after work. A few tv screens at the bar and a decent selection of drinks. There were a few original cocktails and beer selection was excellent (even save for the three that were out that day -- no worries, there were dozens more). Lots of appetizers, and we literally got one of each available for the happy hour menu. Portions for happy hour are a bit small, but at $7 or so, I think you get your money's worth. Taste was on good, but nothing phenomenal. Had a few Long Islands and their Tokyo Mule which was great as refreshing option with Japanese whisky (non-premium). This has a local feel to in a very clean and welcoming environment. Outside on the deck was a pretty chill environment with nice tables with umbrellas (yes, they kind that don't break or fly). Inside had good lighting and again looked fairly chic without being trendy. We were there for four hours and it didn't even seem that long. Others were the same, so you do feel comfortable. There were a few hit-and-misses with service: For some reason or other, they wouldn't provide extra dishes or cutlery until someone physically occupied the area, which is a little annoying when we were obviously going to occupy the table with a lot of food. We got there earlier, but the rest of our party was lagging a little behind, but even with all the food ordered, no extra plates until people arrived. Whatever. Waitress seemed a bit overwhelmed as she struggled to keep up with our orders and drinks. We had a party of five and we ordered one of each Happy hour plate and two other entrees that was more than enough for all of us for the four hours we were there. On the food, the "Nachos" are basically potato skins with kalua and some toppings. It was actually good, but careful when you read the menu. Unfortunately didn't get to try their other skins that were the highlight, but we move on... Fries were loaded with cheese (think velveta plus bacon, vs the spicy nacho variety) and picking and were ok. Some didn't care for it in our party, but I didn't find anything particularly wrong with it. It was slightly seasoned and stayed fairly crisp throughout. Wings were ok. Buffalo was good and just how you'd expect it with a good kick. I'd recommend these. Garlic Parmesan was well-liked on our table, but this is pretty passive, so it's for the people who don't like spice and such -- I personally thought it was a little on the dead side of taste. Sliders were par with a slightly sweet tasting bread. As part of a platter, my only thing is I want more. Chicken fingers or whatever were crispy with a heavy batter -- maybe a little too much. Good with the ranch sauce and just what you expected, but nothing to write home about. But let's break this down, we aren't trying to review a fine-dining restaurant, it's a bar...with some good offerings in beer/liquor and food. You won't make everyone you know come here for the food, but none of them will leave unsatisfied when they get to this place as it's pretty much what you expect. Service could notch it up, and perhaps it's because we were outside on the deck, but the food is good enough for a long round of laughs and the prices reasonable enough. My husband and I asked the staff at KoHana for recommendations and they said locally that Taps & Apps would be a good fit... they were right. We had great service from our server and all the rest of the staff all night. We ordered the beer batter fried zucchini (YUM! Super lightly battered with yummy ranch dip), the T&A Signature Burger (truly one of the best we have ever had) and the Chicken & Bacon Ranch Salad (fresh, well dressed and perfectly cooked chicken) with both the garlic and regular fries on the side. The garlic fries were a little too garlicky at the bottom for my husband, but I may have dipped my regular fries in the leftover garlic - just sayin! I am a big fan of sour beers which can be a tough fit, but my flight based on server recommendations was ONO! My husband chose his pints and was pleased as well. Based on the season, they rotate their tap selection from various local breweries (as well as create their own) and a whole bunch of popular brews. They have the perfect selection all year round to suite any time of the year. I really enjoy going during Oktoberfest because I love me some Hefeweizen style beers, as well as German inspired pupus. If you aren't a beer fly, then that's okay! They have a full bar and various drink specials, ranging from shots if you're ready to get lit or cocktails of all sorts. I went here last year during Christmas time and they had eggnog shots! Holy Jesus, it was amazing! Don't even get me started on their food! Let me start by saying, it is a bit pricy, but it is soooooo worth it. Because it's all amazing and savory. They legit have the best bar food on island. Appalled, that's what I am about this place. Let me list food places that also serve alcohol: Buffalo Wild Wings, Dave & Busters, Outback, Chili's, The Shack, Movie Theatre, hmmmm the list goes on and on. Have any of you ever been kicked out at the 5 o'clock hour standing at the door waiting for a host or someone to greet/meet you because a 12 year old is with you. Let's add to that, you're their waiting because you're wanting takeout. Well that's what happened here. My son was with his Aunt who was going to order a salad to go at 5pm and the man aggressively came to them aggressively AND RUDE saying he needs to get out of here! In this manner he looked at my sister like she needed to leave too. It was " Happy hour." Ok...and? If you expect that, ID before getting in. You can also NICELY say or explain your policies. I've visited Taps & Apps a handful of times, and I've decided that I like it here. I do not come here when I'm hungry, but I have ordered a few food items to snack on every now and then. I come here to drink and people watch and hang out with my friends, we happen to be back in Mililani (where we all grew up), and when we don't want to drive far, which is almost always. It's tough not living in town! Why do you think I moved? They have plenty of seating, and get pretty busy on any weeknight. Every night there is a different thing going on - trivia? karaoke? It's a fun place to interact with the community, or if you prefer to be more low-key like me, just sit back and enjoy the show. I have never had issues with customer service here. Out waitstaff was always very friendly and checked up on us often. I've also never sat outside when coming to Taps and Apps. I usually prefer indoor seating especially when the view outside isn't really a view. Meheula Parkway is not exactly fascinating to me after living in Mililani for almost 15 years. I am not that well versed on my beers. The menu is typed out in a smallish print, and the beers are not categorized. They also swap out somewhat frequently. The first few times I've gone, they've always had sour options for me to drink, but this last time, they did not. I've also had their mule, which is alright. French fries here are nice when they're piping hot and fresh. I've also had the calamari before and while it wasn't the best, it wasn't bad, and I can appreciate that I didn't have to drive too far to get it. Had a spur of the moment outing with my dad. I thought we were just going to his regular stops of bars for the night but he decided he wanted to try something new. We both thought it was just a regular bar, but walking in we realized it wasn't what we expected. We took some seats right at the bar but they do have tables and even outside seating. They have a ton of beer on tap. Very good place for people who love all different kinds of beers but my dad and I only drink Budweiser and corona lol. We asked the bartender what was good and told him our normals and he brought out little glasses for us to try some of the beers similar to what we drink. I thought that was pretty cool. Luckily my dad found a beer he wanted to try and I ended up just getting a corona. The staff was very friendly and it seemed as though they have a lot of regulars or they're really good at making good conversation. They all looked like they genuinely enjoy their job which makes their presence so much better to be around. Not really my kind of selections because I'm really picky with my food and beer, but the atmosphere was nice so I'd definitely go again. They have really good beer on tap. This place is my go to if I'm looking for a nice beer. They also have really good fish and chips. For some reason it looked like my friends got more fish than me as they had 3 strips and I had 1. The waitress asked the chef and she came back saying it's based off weight, but idk, my friend's pieces looked way longer and just as fat as mine, so I feel cheated. Service is really good. They have games like connect 4, jenga, guess who, and so on to play as well. Great place to try different beers. Although the service was pretty slow, it was understandable for a fairly busy night. Staff is friendly! I ordered a "Not Your Old Fashioned" with Makers Mark instead of the bourbon they typically use. I can handle alcohol pretty well but I think the cocktail itself just did not sit well with me at all. Best happy hour in Central Oahu! Their happy hour is from 3-7pm and includes both drinks and appetizers! I've come here twice during happy hour and both times received great service and delicious food! The first time I came here for a birthday party and I honestly wasn't very hungry. I got the happy hour size Crab Melt which come with one slice of French bread cut into 4 pieces with melty cheese, mayo, and a generous portion of crab melt! Oh my gosh it was so good! Everything went so well together. Whoever invented such a thing was a genius! It wasn't until the second time that I REALLY appreciated the food here. I came here on a Wednesday at around 5pm. It was really slow with only a couple of people at the bar. My parents, boyfriend, and I came here to celebrate the boyfriend's birthday. Both my boyfriend and dad love trying new beers. If you love beer, you NEED to come here! They have over 30 beers on tap with a few being locally made. We decided to get the flight of 4 beers for $12. I'm not a huge drinker but I have to say the Pineapple Cider was super good! You could really tasted the pineapple flavor and there was no bit to it! Literally tasted like juice! Super dangerous for those like me that don't drink! I don't remember the other beers they ordered because they ordered by number instead of by name. Side note per our waitress: do NOT remember the number of the beer because they do change! You need to take a picture of the actual menu so you remember the name. Anyways, on to the important stuff! We first ordered the Happy Hour T&A App Flight! You can choose 3 different appetizers for $15! We selected the Hapa Nachos, Chicken Strips, and sliders. First off, the Hapa Nachos: I thought they were going to be potato wedges with kalua pig, lomi tomatoes, and cheese. BUT, they were actually a twist on the loaded potato. There were 4 halves of fried potato with kalua, tomato, and cheese. It wasn't what I expected but was DELIOUS! The saltiness from the kalua pig, the freshness from the tomatoes, and of course cheese! The potatoes were skinned and not oily at all. Next, the chicken strips with what tasted like a creamy dill dipping sauce was sooo good! I have no idea what they put in that batter, must be the buttermilk but it was so flavorful! It was a bit sweet and the dill in the dipping sauce took this to another level! These were also not oily and super crunchy! Lastly, the T&P sliders. Although they were simple: burger, cheese, mustard, and ketchup, it was somehow super tasty as well. Their mustard and ketchup ratio was perfect. The bun was a bit sweet. We alll enjoyed it! Next, per our waitresses Nakita(?) recommendation, the Mushroom & Brie Flatbread. Holy moly! We could not stop raving about this flatbread! It was mushrooms, brie, cranberries, arugula, and an olive oil sauce. It was sweet, it was tangy, it was soooo bomb! I don't even like arugula but it went so well with the pizza you couldn't take it off! My dad HATES cranberries but he didn't even bother to take them off either. It was that good! MUST TRY for sure! This wasn't on happy hour but at $9, I think it's a good deal. The last appetizer we ordered was the calamari. Again, holy moly! It was like a Jenga stack of calamari. They were 3" sticks of fried goodness! I love that they use bread crumbs instead of batter here. It made it so crispy. The calamari itself was very tender and not chewy at all. It was sitting in a pool of sweet chili sauce and bell peppers. It was so good! Again with the waitress recommendations, she told us we needed to get the regular order instead of the happy hour serving size. Good thing we did because it was gone within minutes! Lastly, gotta have dessert! Since it the boyfriend's birthday, the waitress comped us a Creme Brulee. We also ordered the Crispy Bread Pudding because my mom LOVES bread pudding. The Creme Brulee had a thick caramelized shell that cracked so beautifully. Loved all the fresh fruit on top! It really balanced out the sweetness from the custard and caramelized sugar on top! The Bread Pudding was again not what you would expect but was still delicious! It honestly resembled the Cornflake French Toast at Koko Head Cafe. Super crispy on the outside and nice and moist on the inside. The jam and cool whip brought this whole dish together. Definitely save room for dessert! To top off this off, they also have board games available to keep you entertained! Coming from friends and family who LOVE having game nights, this is definitely a WIN! Although we never played any games both times I was there, just knowing they're available is a plus! Overall, this is definitely my new favorite happy hour place! If it was based on my last visit, I would have given 1/2 stars. Looking for food after gym late night and this pops up on Yelp so I decided to give it a try. We ordered the Mililani Melon and Mauka Breeze and both drinks were good. I liked the mauka breeze more because it was on the sweeter side. The kimchee smoked salmon dip was really good which was served with naan bread. The second time I visited, we stopped by late maybe after 9:30 and we sat down but unfortunately they closed the kitchen already but the bar was still open. So if you're looking for late night grub and drinks come before 9:30pm? The third time I visited.....I wanted to double check if the kitchen was still open before sitting down so I approached one of the employees. She was busy talking story to a drunk patron so I waited to the side of her. I'm pretty sure she saw me but then proceeded to go to another table to take their order. Feeling ignored, I saw another employee and asked him if they were serving food. He said let me go check so he went into the kitchen and comes back, walks past me with empty plates and puts them away in the front. He walks past me again and just looks at me. Seriously?? So I would give this place 4 stars, because I have been back several times since I first started going and the food has been a lot better. However, I give it 3 stars because of the server who 1. kept trying to rush out my big party... 2. he was rude and told people how he would separate the checks and 3. was gone half of the time so we had to chase him down. Good location to take some friends to chill, drink, talk, play some games (there's some board games inside near the lanai entrance/exit doors). Was a little hesitant because last time we were around it was a bit too loud, but yeah I know "that's how bars are." Anyway, it wasn't all that bad when we went, our server was nice and efficient when she was taking our order, semi-constantly checking up on us. At some point I believe she switched to a different section or clocked out because someone else started serving us and the service changed and we would run out of water or when we wanted more drinks or food -- we couldn't order -- so we asked for the bill and wanted to leave. We went here on a whim on Sunday for brunch, as everywhere is always packed on Sunday for brunch, some places even more packed for football. I saw the menu on YELP and thought hmmm, looks good, let's go! We were nearby and wanted something different. There it was, tucked away in the corner. It's definitely a bar. There were some people drinking, watching football, saw some board games too. We were initially sat inside, not too crowded, but a good amount of people watching the game. The menu is extensive, brunch and regular menu, including assorted beers and cocktails. Mediocre dining experience so far, - but then my boyfriend notices - hey, there's outside seating, no one really out there. We asked to move outside, no problem. Weather is nice, very quiet and relaxing. I'm sure it's different on a Friday night. My boyfriend orders a beer, and a Mimosa for me. Drinks took a while to arrive, they were good - but then the food arrived - I was surprised in the best way! So exceptional and delicious! We ordered the T&A burger per the servers recommendation, the Avocado bomb, and the Mushrooms and Brie flatbread (I subbed the cranberries for tomatoes). The flatbread was very delicious and I personally like my flatbread a bit crispier and thinner, this one was a bit thicker than most and doughier. However, the taste was refreshing and the peppery arugula married well with the cranberry Brie and mushroom. Sweet and Savory. Also ordered Parmesan Garlic Fries. Nice thick cut fries with a crispy shell and moist, soft, potato goodness inside. Paired all that with the New Belgium Lager which is a dark beer but incredibly light. As soon as we walked into the door i was going to walk and ask the bartender to use the bathroom And i took a few steps and The bartender told me Um hello you need to wait at the door (not sure if she said please.) Finally they took our temp and i asked if we can use the bathroom ( i already had quite a few drinks and wasnt feeling too good.) So we went to the bathroom i went in and then finished up and came out then i went out by the wall then my MOTHER IN LAW went in and i was still waiting by the wall and then i knockes at the door twice she finished up and came out and i told her sorry im not feeling good i went in and she stayed in side and waited by the door not a couple minutes passed by my mother in law as soon as she opened the door the lady probably the first lady who said something to us says. And i quote. "ARE YOU TWO DONE PLAYING IN THERE? Someone needs to use the bathroom!" We look at each other and was very upset we ended up just going to meet our friend who was sitting and waiting for us the reason we came!! As it was our first time here. Taps &Apps! My wife and I had a great time tonight. Chad was our bart tender. Him and his team did an amazing job making us feel at home. It was our first time there. We usually drink the normal dive bar beers but after asking him on his recommendations on something new to drink, he gave a us a sampler of different types of beer based on what we normally enjoy. We definitely appreciated the time he took to cater to our request. Usually other bar tenders would just recommend something off the top of their head without listening to what we ask. So, tonight I decided to come here for TRIVIA NIGHT! OMG! The variety of questions are awesome and mind boggling when I get them right, I'm like, YES, that's right, uh huh, you know it. But when I get it wrong lol but it's fun to watch others and to their Team names lol you just never know. The people must be regulars because when I asked about this whole process they were so helpful and ready for the challenge. The Bartenders and waitresses(?) I think that's what they're called. We're also awesome!!! So helpful, very attentative and ready to serve you when it's going down!! I swear, if they were to wear a Fitbit, they'd for sure make their 10,000 steps within those, 2 hours? Sorry I forget how many hours of the Trivia went on. But yeah, they sure are working the floor and keeping the customers happy and that's what I call GREAT service. I guess people take trvia night very serious, but taps and apps staff please dont threaten to instantly kick us out because we "violated" trivia night rules. Not every customer is there to do the same thing as what the establishment wants them to do. We went there to enjoy a few drinks but instead we were threaten for something we knew nothing about. A better example of a way to approach customers. "Hey, currently we're doing trivia night and a lot of customers are very competitive. I came here a few times and it's ok. They have a wide section of craft beers for those beer lovers. This place is kind of hit or miss for me. Parking: There is a parking lot, however it's usually always packed probably due to the other businesses in the area, so either come early before prime time or I would recommend parking by Longs. Food: I love the T&A burger and the Garlic Parmesan fries are delicious. However, in my most recent visit here my girlfriend ordered the shrimp and pesto flat bread only to be displeased that majority of the shrimp was not fully cooked. Service: The service is kinda hit or miss. They have a lot of good and bad workers. The biggest issue is they always seem to be understaffed, so we had to wait kinda long on what I thought was a slow Sunday afternoon. I think I have a love/hate relationship with Taps & Apps. It's such a hit or miss establishment. I always find myself either really enjoying it or leaving disappointed. The menu is constantly changing here. I normally order a few things and a couple of cocktails!! They have a wide variety of beers on taps, but I normally go with my usual when I'm here The Dirty Mule. It's similar to a traditional Moscow mule, but they use Jameson instead of vodka. It's delicious and a must try if you like a good mule. It was a slow Thursday afternoon so I just sat at the bar. The bartender was nice and provided quick service. I noticed that they changed the menu again since I was last here a few months ago. I ordered the lobster corn dogs. It was two corn dogs with a spicy cocktail sauce for dipping. The only way I can describe them is weird. I told the bartender this when she asked me how everything was going and she chuckled and said she gets that a lot. I don't think I would ever order them again. I really love lobster, but I didn't like the breading around it. I also like to order the Pupu steak when I'm here. This is a must if you're craving a nice steak. Another good option here is there burger. It's a good size and has great flavor. If your like me and wondering why the menu always changes here I found it it's due to the chef. When one chef leaves the menu leaves with him. Not sure how often this happens, but I suppose if you like a menu that is always changing this place is for you. Good service but few things their flat bread was too small for their price $17 for a flat bread smaller than my palm, flavor wise the flat bread was good which compensated for the price but sadly wouldn't spend that much on something that small for that price you could get a large at any pizza place. Their burger was big and packed for $10 I was excited to eat but lacked flavor all I tasted was mustard opened my burger and that all I seen was mustard that burger would of been great if it had a nice sauce to it I'm sure ! Overall paid 58.00 for 4 burgers no fries or drinks and the flatbread bit pricey. read more

Was driving home from a long string of shifts at work and just wanted a cold crisp beer and some decent food. It's not a bad beer selection, but nothing that special and a bit over priced ($6 for a Sierra Nevada draft). I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with fries. The sandwich was bomb, but the fries were so so at best and I had to payed extra for them..blehh. I guess we don't have many places like this on the northern part of the island, but I have been to better similar spots in town in comparison which are far superior. A great advantage is that they are open till 2am though, rarely find that in these parts. I'll be back for the sandwich though. read more

Great meal! Perfect service! First time to Taps & Apps ... arrived around 7:00pm, card check, temp check at door. I took a bar seat and ordered a beer. Decided on the Cheddar Bacon Burger (m/w), with fries, sea salt and parm cheese. Standard wait time ... absolutely delicious! Burger was cooked perfectly as were fries!
