This is a way overdue review of my very positive experience with Dr. Yang and her practice a few…read moreweeks ago. I was on the verge of either doing a major root canal or losing my molar teeth altogether due to years of severe grinding & bruxism. Because I had severe pain on my lower left molar, my periodontist, after examining me, told me that I needed a root canal for my bottom left molar. He initially referred me to another endodontics dentist in San Mateo to perform the root canal, but I did some additional research and found Dr. Yang (mainly looking at her high Yelp reviews). Because the pain is caused by severe bruxism, I felt that a root canal may not resolve the pain - because I would still grind my teeth after the root canal, so the procedure may be a waste for a teeth grinder like myself. Dr. Yang started out by taking an X-Ray of the painful molar. She then looked closely at the molar and X-Ray, then recommended me to take a 3D Image of the teeth, which I did (based on her recommendations). It turned out that I may not benefit from a root canal, because my problem is related more to a periodontal issue. Rather than recommending a major procedure like a root canal or an extraction with bone-grafting (which could have been more significant procedures that would generate more dollars), Dr. Yang told me she suspects it is more of a periodontal issue, but not root canal. So Dr. Yang referred me to Dr. Ronderos (another teeth-saving, excellent dentist), and she also recommended using softer toothbrush so my receding gum-lines wouldn't get worse. Dr. Yang clearly cares about her patient over just doing the next root canal procedure. Dr. Yang is an excellent example of how every dentist should be: honest, caring, methodical, and with high integrity. I went to see Dr Ronderos, and now, my left bottom molar no longer hurts, and I won't need a root canal and it looks like we can save that tooth. Without Dr. Yang's careful diagnosis and referral to Dr. Ronderos, I would have lost my teeth - either to a root canal or an extraction - neither of which are viable options vs. saving the teeth. If you read my review of Dr. Ronderos, you will see what Dr. R. did for my teeth and my bruxism. My teeth pain is now gone for a few weeks, and I no longer need to lose my natural teeth, thanks to Dr. Yang and Dr. Ronderos. I am eternally grateful for Dr. Yang, putting me on a path of saving my teeth and being an excellent dentist who cares about her patient. I would wholeheartedly trust Dr. Yang and Dr. Ronderos for their high integrity and recommendations. Go see them if you want the best for your teeth.

Dr. Olsen is the consummate professional - so expert and perfect in her work. She explained every step along the way while exuding a warm calmness throughout what was essentially a dental ballet. Watching Dr. Olsen and her assistant work was like watching and listening to a symphony - which is saying alot when one is sitting in the endodontists chair. The back and forth between the two of them was like a relaxing metronome and her hands were like a whisper in my mouth. There was NO pain or discomfort - at all. Her assistant was such an integral part of the team working in perfect tandem. Even x-rays, which are always difficult, in the hands of her extremely skilled assistant resulted in absolutely no discomfort. I simply cannot recommend Dr. Olsen, and her assistant, highly enough. After a week of constant pain, I couldn't wait any longer to get help. On a Friday night, I (desperately) reached out to any dentists who listed Saturday hours. The office was otherwise closed, but he was willing to come in and see me, a brand new patient he had never even met, because I needed help. That meant a lot, and immediately told me he genuinely cares about people, not just appointments on a schedule. Dr. Arora gave careful, clear, clinical explanations of what he was seeing, what was causing my pain, and exactly what needed to be done. He made sure I understood what was going to happen, why he takes the approach he does, and what to expect afterward. I ended up needing two root canals to fix the previous dentist's filling. While no one *enjoys* a root canal, it honestly wasn't nearly as bad as I feared. It did take time - which he told me upfront - because he doesn't rush. My previous dentist had emphasized how quickly he could get me in and out, so it was actually refreshing to be treated by someone who prioritizes doing it properly. What really stood out is that while Dr. Arora's practice absolutely has modern technology, he clearly relies on skill and judgment first. It felt like being treated by someone who truly understands dentistry, not someone just following what a machine tells them to do.
