I got married on Sept. 28 and Amir did an amazing job with my hair! When I was searching for a hair…read morestylist in Gualala, CA, I was quite limited in the individuals willing to do wedding hair. A few were unavailable but most were not doing wedding hair any more for one reason or another. When I called Rumors, Amir picked up the phone and immediately said he would love to do my hair for my wedding. Off to a great start! We visited Amir about a month prior to the wedding to do a trial run. I showed him some of my ideas and he expressed it would be super easy to do. He also suggested doing some highlights to make my hair look "sun kissed" which we ended up spending most of the trial doing. They turned out great! Later, when I told him my hair was feeling dry due to the highlights, he gave me specialized shampoo and conditioner to help heal my hair as a wedding present. So kind and generous! The day of the wedding comes and he shows up ready to get to work. He was fun and expressive when he worked on 2 of my bridesmaids and myself. He worked with each of our needs and types of hair with ease and experience. My hair was incredible and exactly what I wanted, a messy, casual bun that had grace! Plus, now here's the best part, it was COMFORTABLE! He used a bunch of bobby-pins but it didn't hurt at all! Even after 8 hours of wedding and dancing and my hair felt amazing! I don't know how he did it but I was very impressed that he was able to make that type of up-do feel good. Amazing work! He was willing to drive to our hotel (St. Orres) as well as go to the venue to do my husband's hair. He even did a great job with my husband's hair and made him look so handsome! Thank you, Amir! I highly recommend him not just for wedding work but for every day cuts!

We recently moved to the Mendonoma Coast and I have curly hair. In my 15 years in the SF Bay Area,…read moreI went to all the top/popular-on-IG curly stylists. The results were great (well, most of the time), but I was so tired of the whole production: scheduling FAR in advance; $140+ for a trim; sitting still for ages as each individual curl was dry cut; shampoo and style no longer included at some places; etc. I figured I'd try someone local and am SO GLAD I did. For half the price I used to pay, I have a spectacular curly cut and get compliments ALL the time. I got exactly what I wanted, with a shampoo, in a straightforward, efficient manner. So relieved! The Mendonoma Coast is lucky to have Christine and her skill.

Damien is the one-man show behind the Salon at Rendezvous, and he runs a meticulously curated, luxurious operation. The experience began with a thorough consultation; we discussed my desired outcome and his suggested approach until we agreed upon our plan of action. Once we settled on a plan, Damien's fabulous wife (and co-owner of Rendezvous) brought me a handcrafted tea latte to enjoy--a delicious start to the transformation. The salon itself is a coastal sanctuary. With only one chair, one washing station, and large windows facing the coast, the atmosphere is deeply personal. From the moment you pull into the reserved parking space right at the entrance, it is clear the owners have mastered the art of the intimate, high-end experience. I have received many compliments since Damien worked his magic, and will definitely be returning!

She is an excellent hairstylist. On occasion I have booked with Judy the owner. She is a mediocre hair stylist at best but at least she was not horrible. A month ago I had Judy cut my hair.partly because she got me in sooner than Leza would have. I waited 2 weeks to let the cut grow into an okay cut. But it has never grown out okay. I am now walking around with Dutch boy cut and it sucks. This haircut is the absolute worse cut I have had in 40 years. I called her today and asked her if I could come in and have her fix it. She said no and when I asked why not, her answer was I probably would not be happy with it. When I tried to ask why, she hung up on me! Mind you, I spend about $150 to $200 a year on just products from her store. I have never complained before about anything. Well, I am glad she doesn't need my business because I am officially breaking up with her business. Goodbye Shag. And Leza if you ever leave there, please text me and let me know. I will gladly wait for an appt with you instead of being in a hurry to get a cut or a color. If you decide to get your hair done here, just make sure you book with one of the other girls there.
