We enrolled our daughter in the math program here about a year and a half ago. We are super…read morepleased with how much this program has done for her both in the classroom and also on her standardized testing that is done in her school. Before we enrolled her, we looked at two similar businesses in the South Meadows/Damonte Ranch area and found that this program was significantly less expensive than the other two. Additionally, we had a family friend recommend Best In Class to us. We decided to enroll our daughter because she had always received good grades in school, and we were truly shocked that her standardized testing scores showed her math below the 70th percentile! When your child only gets A's and B's on their report card, it's worrying when their standardized testing doesn't reflect that. After about 7 months of math lessons here, once a week, she tested at the 96th - 99th percentile range on her last standardized test for math in her school! We were so pleased with this improvement, in such a short time frame, that we recently signed her up for the English lessons too. Our daughter really enjoys going to the weekly lessons here. They give her "Best In Class Dollars" when she gets 100% on her tests and she can use these to buy fun little trinkets for rewards. She brings home a homework packet each time, and does 3 pages a day. It takes about 15 minutes a day generally. The next class, she takes a quick test to ensure she has learned the last week's lesson. After that, she reviews the next lesson with the instructor. We've found the lessons are broken out in very easy to understand concept groups for her. Most importantly, she tells us the teacher to student ratio is low in her classes, so she gets a lot of individual attention in each lesson. We definitely recommend this Best In Class! The staff is very kind and professional, and our daughter has had excellent results with this program!

At the beginning, I was just looking for a way to strengthen my son's math skills. As a fourth grader, my son's math was okay by all standards and measurements. However, he kept telling me that he does not like Math. Having taught Math in my prior life, I concluded that the "dislike" part was due to a lack of confidence cause by either a lack of precision or speed or both in certain fundamental calculation skills. Kumon has a systematic way of strengthen the foundation for the kids, very much complementing the weaknesses of the current primary educational system. And the Kumon instructor -- Kay -- is very competent, having a strong understanding of the material as well as the Kumon methodology. In my view, she is passionate about her students. She was able to instill a new attitude into my son, by both being strict and at the same time patient and sweet. My son's progress is unmistakable. Within a few months, he started to tell me that he was one of the first students to finish the math class work, and decided to go to math competitions. The Kumon Reading program was also invaluable to him, allowing him to progress to higher level reading materials at his own pace. In our experience, if you and your kids can commit to spend some consistent effort in this program, the result can potentially be more than what you have expected. The Mayberry Landing center is truly exceptional in all regards, and can help your kids to reach their highest potentials.

We don't grade. We don't worry. Kumon creates an environment where he just wants to excel in learning Math and Reading. We were introduced to Kumon last summer. We thought we just wanted have our son fill his free time with more productive pursuits than video games over Summer vacation. Once we learned more about their amazing program, we kept him in Kumon. We love that he is working towards goals as he'll complete addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, algebra, geometry, and up into calculus, while also preparing for the verbal portion of the SATs. Kumon works on the reading and math fundamentals with repetition, speed, and accuracy. Honestly, we were worried would get an education to prepare him for life with all the unproven changes going on at his school. Now, we just worry about will he get a hit at his next at bat.

The classroom is incredibly CLEAN, always well organized and decorated with so much creativity. I appreciated that the staff are all so attentive to details. From class projects to events throughout the year and even putting together a memory book for each child, they are SO creative and make everyday fun! There is such a sense of family at the school. The teachers interact so well with the children and genuinely care for each child. Ms. Misty and Ms. Nicole (and all helpers) understand that children are all at different places socially and academically and are sensitive to these differences. Our daughter was so timid when the school year began and very apprehensive, but over time grew more and more comfortable and before long could not wait for preschool days! She is now ready and eager for kindergarten. We would HIGHLY a recommend this preschool to anyone and hope these teachers are still there when our baby is ready to attend.

I am a special education teacher and I work between home, school and community with kiddos with special needs in order to build consistency so children can be successful in all their environments and IVNS is an appropriate, successful educational environment with teachers who motivate, encourage and work with each child on their individual needs and strengths to be successful, independent, confident preschoolers and prepare them for kindergarten. After living in Tahoe for 18 years and having the privilege to work in almost every school and preschool around the lake and in the valley, Incline Village Nursery School is the only place I would send my twin boys. IVNS is the best preschool at the lake and my family commuted for one year in order to give our twin boys the best opportunity to attend an amazing preschool and this year we relocated to Incline Village so they could attend another year of preschool at IVNS. My twins boys and my family are so excited to be a part of the IVNS family for another year! IVNS is a clean, safe, educationally appropriate setting with amazing teachers. For me what is important in a preschool is the level of education of the teachers, the way each teacher interacts with the students to help guide each child to success and confidence and a classroom environment that is conducive to learning. IVNS is just that! Just do yourself a favor and do not bring your kids here. I don't even know where to start with…read morethis school. First off, I can't recall how many times they shut down due to kids and staff testing positive for COVID. The toys always look filthy and disgusting so I know they aren't doing a good job of cleaning and disinfecting. When they were mandated to clean after having a positive COVID case, is when things actually looked clean. There's many times where the front door will be wide open and no one sitting at the front desk, so just anyone could walk in. Mariella, the person who runs the school, is always extremely rude. She has a snotty attitude and you get the feeling you're being talked about as soon as you leave the school doors. I call every morning before 9 am, to let them know we will be there by 10 am, which is required of us to do. Her phones wouldn't go to voicemail, no one answered the phone, and I called at least 3 times. Then she had the audacity to point blame on me and told me to basically jump through more hoops and contact his teacher. Which even though it's ridiculous, I said fine. Brings me to my next topic, I don't even know who his teachers are anymore because they switch so often. They never have constant or reliable staff. The only great teacher I've met there so far is Ms. Prascilla. There's two teachers who are still there even though I complained about how rude they are to the kids. A teacher with bright red hair is so rude to the kids. She will YELL at them, barking commands and god knows what else. I stayed home from work and kept my son with me any time she was filling in for his class because she is that mean. I refuse to let her watch him. There's some teachers who just don't care to be there and they don't care to engage, play, or teach the kids. There are constantly way too many kids in the classes. I understand it's about 9-1 ratio for kids/teachers for my sons age group but it's chaos. Theres three teachers in one class usually with 9 kids for each teacher. 20 something kids in one class at times. There's been multiple times where I've had to intervene personally between kids because one will be hitting another, climbing dangerously on something, or just crying without any comfort or acknowledgment from the teacher(s). There was a time when a little girl (no older than 3) had a giant piece of plastic in her mouth and no one even noticed till I did, she could've very well choked easily and no one would have noticed till it was too late. There's been multiple times where my child's medicine was never distributed to him. They do medicine time twice a day and I always bring 4 vials, to ensure that they're being used. Yet, I've had multiple occasions where they told me yes, he got his medicine, but there were still 4 vials. Due to the lack of availability in other schools, my child is stuck here until I can find somewhere else. I know of other parents that are in the same boat. 2 stars because the school itself is in a safe neighborhood. Otherwise, it'd be one. I'm pretty easy going too so writing this review is really disappointing.

The front desk ladies look very nice and that's what made me…read morewant to bring my child here, but her first day I went to pick her up and nobody knew where my child was, On top of that they where outside and nobody directed me where to go or who to talk to and all the staff where talking in a group not even watching the children and I clearly saw a little girl put a rock in her mouth, and I saw a little boy push another little boy, their was also a child crying by the slide which nobody even cared to see if she was okay. when I finally got to my daughter She was with a different teacher and not even with her class and when I asked her teacher how her day was she said it was good, which it was not because she failed to tell me my daughter and another little girl were fighting and she also didn't tell me that she didn't eat or sleep well because she slept on the way home and when we did get home she was very hungry, which she never ask for dinner any earlier than we usually have it, the first day was enough for me to pull her out of the center and with that being said they wanted to charge me 3 weeks Because they needed a two week notice that I was not even aware of because no where on the paperwork that I signed said I needed a two week notice. so I am currently trying to get my money back and I actually put my daughter into another day care which she absolutely loves so with that being said I highly DO NOT recommend this center!
