I really got myself stuck in a jam with my rental car when I visited Palma Nova this August. Some idiot dented the body of my rental overnight and I didn't have full cover. Nice surprise to wake up to. This meant a 950-euro bill from the rental company even though the damage was estimated at 200. I had a choice to take it back to the rental and maybe they may not see the damage, pay the 950-euro automatic charge on any damage or find a panel beater to repair before my car return date. This was a panic search over a day and a half. The estimates and length of time of work varied vastly. But this shop by far came out as the cheapest and fastest, but most of all they seemed to care and really put me at ease. They are a Spanish crew with only one English speaking staff member, Alex. He and his boss, Jose I think is his name just seemed like a family business. One your father or uncle would have visited for years and would have trusted. Alex struggled to understand my already quick speaking Cork accent but really made the effort. They pushed other work aside as they knew I only had a few days on the Island, I knew this was not just a line as they had cars lined up out the door and down the street. Local Spanish seem to have made them their go to shop as they just kept coming. All good signs. When I returned to collect the car, I couldn't have been happier. It was perfect and what made it easier to pay was the genuine smiles and greeting from the lads at the shop. I really can't champion these guys enough, and I have told Alex to keep practicing his English as he should see a lot more English looking to have mechanical or body work done, If I can get their business awareness up. So, anyone living or visiting Mallorca and Calvia area that need car help make these guys your first call. One word of warning, the (Son Bugadelles) area were their shop is, is full of mechanics and body shops but they will over charge or mess you about. Be sure its Taller Autobody at 23 Valencia. read more
