DO NOT GO!! SAVE YOUR MONEY! The 4 month diploma program is a waste of $10,000 dollars and the…read morewebsite advertising this program is full of lies. Admissions promise you things in the program that don't happen such as dialects, instructors who have left years ago (Kenneth McGregor, Joy Juckes, Russell Ferrier) you never learn the Meisner technique, and a mock audition in front of a guest panel of agents and casting directors does not happen (WHICH IS WHAT THEY SAY ON THE WEBSITE UNDER MONTH 4). Watch out for SUSAN she lies constantly to suck you into this program and get your money!! She is the main admin and often goes by "Lily" which is a made up person to make it seem like more people work there. The main Instructor Andrei is an ego maniac and creates a toxic class environment to be in. He is constantly late, complains, yells at students, wastes class time and will gaslight you constantly. Half of the instructors listed are not present and have left years ago and the other instructors in the program are only there for 1 week or 2... You spend 3 months with Andrej who is mentally unstable, bullies students regularly, makes mickey mouse poor quality demo footage and threatens to leave class if you don't praise him constantly. Other students in previous years have had the same negative experience as I went to some networking events and have met people all saying negative things about the program. ADMISSIONS... HAS done nothing for years!! Because they don't give a shit about the students, the quality of this so called "acting program" or your future in the industry, they just want your money and don't know anything about what's going in class. And if you do reach out to admissions they will do nothing and Andrej will find out what you said because you can't complain anonymously and scream at you for "going behind his back". Lastly. I wanted to say that these 4 months have affected myself and many others mental health with the abuse and lies from Andrei and Susan. This is not an acting program. It's a zoo ran by amateurs who want your money and to belittle your self esteem. Save your $10,000. Spend it wisely. (Update they took down my review by spamming fake reviews) June 7, 2023 - People from 5 years ago or even 1 year ago would not post a review YEARS LATER! All the fake reviews are posted in May 2023, some on the same day. These people are absolutely disgusting because the truth is ugly and they want to bury it with no proper accommodation for those who have been mistreated and lied too.

ALL the positive reviews are true!…read moreAfter years of procrastinating and debating on whether or not I wanted to invest in acting classes I did some research and took a chance on Alza Acting Studio! I wasn't sure what to expect as I currently work in the entertainment industry and I KNOW there are many techniques and styles of teaching (drama). And let's be frank, alot of teachers can be quirky, to the point where it affects the students capacity to learn. I'm happy to report that this studio has some of the BEST, MOST PROFESSIONAL ACTING COACHES I've ever encountered! Wow! Everyone is so professional and kind. Each coach has their own different style of teaching which I find is always a bonus. When constructive criticism is given, it is done in such a tactful and respectful way. No, they don't sugar coat or "baby" us as students, we all get the critiques we need to improve or skills but I can truly say because of the warm environment that they have created I'm never really nervous to perform / or deliver my lines . If you are nervous about starting classes, this is where you need to be! They are the real deal! I'm now on my second round of classes and I can see such an improvement in my performance ! Thank You ALZA TEAM!

To provide a fair review, I attempted to interview the girls and get their feedback. Ummm, I didn't get far with them because they were quickly distracted by a squirrel pooping on our porch. With that, I would have to go with my opinion as a parent. We love it. Lorrie, the owner and teacher, is organized, methodical and fun. She's appropriately strict and the kids learn confidence and discipline (but not like the kind you learn in a Shaolin KungFu temple). The highlight is the annual dance recital that's held in a large theater. I was pleasantly surprised by the high production level, especially since the performers are mostly still wearing diapers. The dance studio is in the Junction and it's quite clean and comfortable. The classroom is large and appropriately padded. The waiting room for the parents has comfy chairs but could use some more current magazines. There's a change room and two washrooms. The bonus is there are a ton of things to do around the studio while your kid is in class. You can shop for organic food at The Sweet Potato, grab the best cup of coffee at Crema or indulge with a yummy Bronto Burger. We love it.

She has taken creative movers, tap, jazz, modern and musical theatre - but her favorites are definitely modern and jazz. She loves that each instructor she has had has given her plenty of opportunity to shine and she always leaves class energized. Creative Children's Dance Centre has not only enhanced her love of dance, but given her the opportunity to explore movement and gain confidence she carries beyond the studio. There are a good mix of boys and girls attending and the performances are truly spectacular to watch. Obviously I'm biased to love my daughters performances the most, the the tap and hip hop always get the audience excited and the ballet goes from adorable (the tiny performers) to inspiring as the more experienced intensive training or pre professional dancers grace the stage. As the previous reviewer said, the studio is clean and comfortable. The location is ideally situated among many distractions for parents (coffee shops, gyms, shopping) as well. The instructors are all lovely and the owner, Laurie is one of my daughters personal favorites.
