Very nice place, small parking area in front of shopping center. Ordered Takka Don lunch special which was tuna on top of rice with a side of ginger apple salad. The salad dressing was good but the tuna didn't taste so fresh so had to dunk it in the soy sauce for some flavor. Also ordered the salmon roll which was okay flavorless as well.

So good, and so affordable! This place is amazing. Some people have said it's a hole in the wall... There is still some construction in the building next door, but the restaurant itself is finished inside and there's a decent amount of seating. Also, there is waiter service. I've only gotten take out, but the people leaving after having sit down service looked happy. Over all the restaurant is clean, friendly, affordable, and has delicious sushi. I got the spicy salmon roll, Tokyo roll, and sunflower roll. They were all very good, but I recommend the sunflower roll the most. It's unique, and delicious. I'll attach some photos of the menu and sushi as well. Enjoy this awesome find!

I've come here twice now with co-workers, and we're so happy to have a good sushi place nearby! The online menu is not totally up to date so when you stop in, just make sure you take a menu to go. Also, you cannot order online (anymore). Calling in is convenient. I think the person I've talked to on the phone both times was the owner. She is very kind and makes sure to repeat your order to make sure she's gotten everything. The prices are reasonable and the quality is worth returning for. Right now, the restaurant literally looks like a hole in the wall from the outside because of construction around it. It's also a little difficult to spot because the name is not on the window. Even if it was, it would not be called Takei Sushi. It's now called Bamboo Sushi. The first time we ordered, we were given complimentary mochi. The second time, we were given complimentary edamame and V. Special Roll (specialty roll). We were more than pleased and will definitely be returning many times.

Takei Sushi is a frequent to go spot for my friends to enjoy sushi. The angry dragon roll was AMAZINGLY Delicious. The seafood soup was lite and tasty, and the seaweed salad was served perfect. What I will say that stuck out more than anything was the service. Unfortunately, there was one thing that I did not like, so they tried very hard to accommodate. Sadly, they did not succeed, but they tried so very hard and took half off too. I will definitely return and try some more yummy delicious sushi rolls.

Takei Special: 26 pieces & 2 rolls. Tuna salmon yellowtail white fish eel shrimp. Sunrise & Cali rolls. Shrimp tempura roll was a bonus.

They gave me stale lettuce, very bad sushi, and hair in my food. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Had a nice date night with my hubby here for early dinner and it was a pleasant experience. I…read morereally like the vibe in this place. The bar is super nice, the presentation is really there. As far as the food goes, my husband and I both agree that it's good and worthy of a re-visit in the future however, it wasn't blow your socks off! I got the chicken ramen and I literally got two pieces of chicken in my ramen....i was definitely expecting more than that. My husband got the chicken chashu and he said it was a solid option. I want to be so clear that this five star review is based off of our fantastic server, Yosef. He was so friendly, so personable and an overall pleasant worker! He made conversation with us and made sure we had everything we needed to have the best experience. Nowadays, people are so unfriendly and just there to collect a check. JINYA, you are very lucky to have a worker of this nature! Thank you for making our dinner a great experience. We will gladly be back in the future to try another dish and hopefully get the same wonderful customer service.

My last favorite was in a food court inside of a mall!" "It feels like it's the next evolution in the Tommy's Tavern-Tio Taco's takeover of high-quality spots all across our great state!" (But each statement is said, and meant, with sincerity.) It's large (high ceilings adding to the 'wow factor'). It has a great look and vibe. The entire staff are profusely positive. As for the ramen... the broth was chock-a-block with flavor and veggies and noodles and a whole array of goodies (black oil, crispy garlic nubs, creamy tofu, you name it). The Mrs. (who is the real connoisseur when it comes to ramen, I'm just a wannabe) thought the portion was a bit on the 'wimpy' side (for the price) but I was content. (We arrived at the tail-end of happy hour, so maybe I was a bit more forgiving since the bill wasn't as bad as it could've-would've been.)

We ordered from a touchscreen kiosk and had the food delivered in plastic containers by a robot. My daughter and I had the black garlic ramen, my wife the spicy miso, and my son the miso with the udon option (75 cents add-on to replace the ramen noodles). We also had pork gyoza and pork steam buns. The food was pretty good. It wasn't the level of some of the NYC or California ramen places that we've been to (e.g. Ippudo, or even the Edgewater Mitsuwa food court ramen--which are amazingly good). However, it was decent especially for the price and we enjoyed it. What struck us as very odd was that we were the only customers in the entire restaurant. Why was a well-reviewed, fairly good place like this not without a single other customer during prime dinner time (6 to 630pm on a Sunday night)? Complete mystery--hoping it's an anomaly as we need good places like this to stay open.

Turns out drive by here all the time so why not finally try!? I ordered the Tonkotsu Shio Ramen with extra pork + egg along with the Pan Fried Pork Buns and Yasai (veggie) Gyoza. The bowl of ramen is big enough for two people so I made it last for dinner and leftover lunch the next day. The pan fried pork buns were my FAVE! There were 3 of them and pretty sizable! The gyoza was okay - next time I won't get the veggie option. Pretty reasonable pricing, it was approx $30 for all of this. All in all, I'd order here again!

One of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had…read more Let me start by saying this is no longer a BYOB restaurant, despite giving every impression that it still is. There is no clear notice that they now have a liquor license, yet they charge a $10 corkage fee per bottle--or require one drink per person to waive the fee. This feels misleading from the start. After a long and frustrating discussion with our waitress--who couldn't clearly explain the policy--a man (who never identified himself as a manager or in any official role) came over. Even after more back-and-forth, the policy remained unclear until we were told definitively: one drink per person to waive the cork fee. By that point, we had already purchased a drink. We decided to stay, as we've dined here many times before without issues. Unfortunately, things only got worse. We specifically asked for our appetizers and entrees to be timed separately. Instead, our main courses arrived while we were still halfway through our appetizers. Then came the biggest issue: the beef teriyaki. The meat was inedible--extremely undercooked, with a bloody taste and raw interior. We immediately stopped eating and called the waitress over. She told us, quite confidently, that it was filet mignon. It absolutely was not. We asked to speak again with the same gentleman. When questioned, he immediately contradicted her and said it was not filet mignon--but then admitted he didn't know what cut of meat it actually was. He went to the kitchen and came back still unable to identify it, only saying it was "beef." At that point, offering us ice cream as compensation felt almost insulting. We asked for the dish to be removed from the bill. Instead, the waitress returned with three cups of vanilla ice cream--and the charge for the dish was still on the bill. We paid and left, including a 20% tip for the waitress, as the issues seemed more systemic than entirely her fault. Be advised: this is not a BYOB restaurant anymore, and based on this experience, I would strongly recommend proceeding with caution.
