Meijer has a large selection of pretty much anything you might want at competitive prices in line with other grocery stores. We still travel a few times a year and saw the sign for this Meijer location on our way through Owensboro while heading up North to visit my wife's family. It is one of our regular stops to stock up on non-perishable items on the way home, and we still find it to be a great place to shop. They have a large fresh produce section with quality items, and the meat and seafood departments are big and good. We try to pack a cooler with us to pick items up on the way home when it is functional to do so. My wife loves to browse the health and beauty section, but she never fails to find ladies' clothing items on clearance or special and picks up new items on virtually every visit we make. But, the best aspect of shopping at Meijer is the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. On our last visit, we used the self-checkout lanes, and I was having difficulty using my MPerks card. I hit the button for assistance, and the lady who arrived to help took full ownership of the problem. While I told her it was not a problem and probably a temporary glitch she called two other staff members to help find a resolution for us and make it right. That is service that is above and beyond any other store we visit. Our only problem with Meijer is that they do not have a store in Dawsonville, GA, or anywhere closer to us than Bowling Green, KY. If for no other reason, we continue to patronize Meijer due to their wonderful customer service and their great staff.

In this Jimmy John's, only three workers behind the counter were in the building. They were all entranced in each of their cell phones... I was sitting in the parking lot about to make a bad decision. As I open my door, a guy walks up the side walk, toward the Jimmy John's entrance. I follow him in. We both stand there for EIGHT MINUTES before any of the employees even look up from their phones. Finally, they take his order. A girl puts down her cell phone right on the counter where they make sandwiches and starts making his sandwiches, with her bare hands, no gloves -- which are required. During the process of making his sandwiches, she puts the sandwiches down several times to respond to texts on her cell phone. I just couldn't believe it. I had just ordered my sandwich and was about to swipe my credit card. I was just about in shock from the blatant disregard for food safety and obeying the law, etc... I told the cashier to forget it and then I said, all of you need to review the safe food handling requirements. She just had a blank look on her face as if she was clueless. I said, you have to wash your hands after using your phone, using the restroom, and each time you leave & return to the prep area. She said, "we do not". I then said, you can't be handling your phones while making customer's food either. She just looked lost. And then I left.
