I'm a Chinese-American from Texas that was traveling through Monterrey with some friends and we happened upon Taiwan Dim Sum thanks to yelp. I'm not sure what it is but I love to try things that I honestly don't have high hopes for, maybe I like to be surprised or I just have to try things for myself, but either way I'm glad we came to this restaurant. Being that this place is in Monterrey I didn't quite know what to expect, but I can say that we were all quite pleased with the quality of food. Obviously they can't have the dim sum carts rolling around, instead you order from the menu and they make your dim sum in the kitchen. Some highlights were the char shiu, fried dumplings, and the green vegetables with fried garlic (I forgot which vegetable sorry..). The chow mein and fried rice were solid too. I was shocked to find that they had soup dumplings as well, one of the last things I was expecting to find in Mexico. Given what's available you have to set your expectations right, but despite that, the menu is pretty full fledged. The service here was great as well, so if you're in Monterrey with a hankering for some dim sum then you should be well satisfied here.

Finally, place where you can have some good, fairly traditional Chinese/Taiwanese food in Monterrey. An inconspicuous little place that many might mistake as even closed because the door is locked when you try to open it (ring the buzzer) & the decor is very basic. Service, ok. Food is served pretty quick. What we had - a whole lot of bao & dumplings. The highlights - the chicken bao, the fried beef gyosa & the shrimp dumpling. The fried rice is good too. The best though is the fried chicken. Delicious! They also have Boba tea. So, when your Asian food cravings arise, try this place.

As close to authentic dim sum as one can get in Monterrey.
