Friday went well, it was great seeing everybody again, but i was still tortured by the prospect of dinner at the Elks Lodge. i meant to drive-thru Popeye's on the way but did a piss-poor job of time management and wound up arriving hungry. but everything (including least importantly the food) was perfect. being old enough​ (this was our historic two-hundredth reunion) receding hairlines and bulging waistlines were in abundance. was he really all CIF four times in two sports? anyway, hats off to the Elks Lodge on a job well done.

But come wedding day everyone was MIA and not answering their phone except the head gunnery sergeant. The front gate wouldn't let my florists, cake people, and day planner in. Our entire wedding party couldn't even get in because the lady who was supposed to be at the gate with the guest list 2 hours before the wedding, didn't show up til' 1 hour before start time. As a bride and groom getting calls about our people not getting in from everyone, was extremely stressful. If you, your guests, and vendors are not ALL currently in the military or military sponsors DO NOT have your event here especially if you have 100 plus people. My wedding was absolutely beautiful, the food was delish, and everyone had a great time. But the amount of stress we had to go through the DAY OF was unheard of. Get the extra $10k and go have it at oceanfront hotels down the road. It's worth your sanity trust me.
