The store itself is worth a trip to Laredo. Meeting Mr. Vega is another reason. His knowledge of the real "Obra artesenal" of Mexico in many hidden places in Mexico. . Vega's has always had very high quality, unique items he discusses. He can also relate how he knows every square inch of Mexico. One unique item I purchased is a hand woven handbag from Michoacán. This bag is beautifully embroidered and has lasted for years. Take a moment to visit Vega's. I always look forward to returning.

Classy pot dealers! I went and checked out a whole lotta…read morepot dealers across Laredo. Out of all of them, this place had the greatest selection, and highest quality for pots and home decor. This is the biggest- it has a huge outdoor area, and an indoor gallery where they show off the stuff that's more suitable for the interior of your casa. They have fountains and sculptures as well! My favorite sculpture was a metal donkey from Shrek! They have more contemporary stuff as well, but the fun stuff is the best. Inside, they have so much pottery- need Talavera pottery from Mexico? This is an amazing place to stock up. I've never seen the level of quality on this side of the Rio Grande. They have lots of decor and tiles and just about anything you can dream of in pottery. Parking can be challenging here- there's not many places to pull in here, and the closest ones are most sought after since they don't sell anything light weight here.

Crazy metal sculptures! This is such a cool shop for stuff…read morethat's been imported from across the Rio Grande. They have this niche here- of weird, large scale metal art. They've got some talented guy with a blow torch and a welder who goes around cutting up all sorts of metal into the shapes of life sized giraffes, llamas, palm trees, cacti, agave- you name it. I ended up taking home a skillfully made metal cowboy boot bird house, and a sign that celebrates Iowa State University, of all places. The staff was friendly and answered all sorts of questions. They have some weird merchandise- my favorites were the Groot planters, the llamas, and the clay statues of the head (only) of Michelangelo's David. Wouldn't it look good with a fern in the top of David's head? They have all sorts of giant, weird, beautiful metal art. If this is your thing, they have the goods!

It has a patio area, with a few more varied pieces of metal art than the other ones. It seems that who ever is making these guys' stuff is a bit more imaginative than the other artists who supply the other shops along this road. They had a good variety of signs here- stuff to hang up in your man cave or bar that say things like "It's 5 O'Clock somewhere" or "Margaritaville" They had a bunch of Talavera pottery inside, with good prices on things like stretched out cats, or peeing dogs, all made of painted pottery. Everything here was a good price, especially considering the quality of the merchandise. There was ample help around to answer any questions, and they were keen to show off their wares and demonstrate how the artist had put that little extra effort into their wares, versus the competitions'. Parking was easy with a dedicated lot. The inside was air conditioned and felt good in there.

I moved to Laredo from Houston and I have always loved shopping g at Kohl's but I do NOT like this…read morelocation. When I walked in I see one of the employees gossiping with a customer, very unprofessional. Also, in Houston/Humble locations we were allowed to use multiple coupons per transaction here for some reason that is not the case. When I left i also noticed that I was only $3 away from an additional $10 kohl's cash which the cashier could have mentioned, gladly I would have spent that additional amount to earn more Kohl's cash. Just purely disappointed. Will NOT be shopping in store anymore.
