The male instructors ask to touch you before touching you and always approach from where you can see if possible. That may or may not change as they get to know you. Many Hours: Other things of note... Their website says they are only open M-W & Friday but they are basically there training 7 days a week so you should talk to Sifu Starling about the schedule. Classes so far have not started exactly on time. Sometimes they run a bit early and sometimes a bit late. Knowledgeable & Honors Culture: Sifu Starling honors King Fu by displaying his lineage (Ip Man) on the walls, using much Cantonese in his teaching, and teaching about his lineage from his own Sifu up to Ip Man himself. A Family Man: Sifu Starling is a family guy. He has children of his own who are grown and who used to compete and he does very well with the children he trains. I have seen him with a 5 year old (or so) and up to a 12 year old (or so) and with adults. He is quite friendly but also professional. As his the Tai Chi Instructor, Tomas. Clean & Safe: Everything is very clean though they are working on the room leading in from the student entrance. There are two bathrooms and they are large and are meant for 1 person. Non-Discriminatory: The business owners do not discriminate. You can be male, female, young, old, thin, fit, obese, an individual of color, white, or otherwise as you are and they seem to be happy to have you. Overall a wonderful feel to the environment and the staff members are amazing. I highly recommend.
