This year, a sewer line in the lake broke meaning no running water. After several calls, Brandon had no alternative place for our family to stay. We ended up in a hotel with bags and boxes all around us. We paid for that experience on top of the house rental. He only returned our money for the house after several more phone calls and several more days. The agreed upon morning we left Tahoe and returned to the house to pick up the last of our belongings in the garage, he had his cleaning lady there on the phone to him telling us we had to leave. We told her she could start cleaning and that we would be out of there ASAP. But Brandon called my husband to tell him to hurry and get out. We were easily going to be out before the 11:00 deadline. Why be so unkind if the house had no running water and was unable to be used? RUN, do not walk away from Brandon. He is disreputable. As an update: Brandon messaged my husband to call me a liar about this review. (There were 5 adults on our trip who experienced this.) His unprofessionalism in texting us after what we went through because his feelings were hurt by reading an honest review, just makes my point even stronger. Second update: 8 days after getting home, Brandon is still calling me a liar. Please do read other recent reviews. One on Birdeye just 3 months ago, describes Brandon's response to renters in a situation they had no control of and his follow up contact after reading their reviews which was described as "aggressive and disrespectful." Brandon gets very few details right of this bigger picture he creates below 1. We were not met at the front door when we returned from our day around the lake. There was a team of Douglas county workers out back. They DID NOT say that the damage was solely due to lake levels and DID NOT say that it hadn't been repaired because of lake levels. They were concerned with fixing the line at all (although other properties were able to be fixed that DO NOT share this same wall) because the sea wall at this property was not built properly nor being repaired in the proper way, According to the professionals, the cost of doing it correctly was a point of contention. Douglas county couldn't cough up the ten grand and the owner wasn't either. The line would continue to break each time the waves got rough. One worker commented, "I can't believe they rented this place out." 2. We did not store ALL of our belongings in the garage. We spent 2 days cleaning out the house of 2/3 of our belongings which we crammed into 2 hotel rooms for 5 people. Only the things we couldn't fit stayed in the garage because we couldn't afford another room and Brandon was not interested in covering any of the costs of our move. As no one could use the property, this wasn't an inconvenience to anyone While my husband and I moved belongings and threw away the food and meals we had bought and prepared, my son used the wi-fi to take his online college course. The hotel only had an unsecure connection. We only left some supplements and medicine in the fridge until our departure day. We did not use the fridge other than storage. We had wanted to use the Marla Bay beach to at least be able to swim in the lake, but the codes were changed. My husband *had* asked to sit on the back porch, but everything was a negotiation (nothing was done with kindness) and the house was just a reminder of how awful the trip had turned out. We didn't do that either. 3. We DID NOT stay there for 5 uninterrupted nights before the line broke. It was 4 (details should be accurate) and included , as it has every year, cleaning bathrooms, dishes, utensils, and glasses. To think that including the cleaning deposit in the refund we waited 8 days for was some act of benevolence is laughable. 4. He did print my husband a check. I guess he can celebrate that truth. It was the day before we left and he had tried to postpone the meeting twice because he's busy. He threw an unfeeling "sorry" over his shoulder as my husband left. We cashed the check that day because of our experience. We have never been treated with the indifference that Brandon showed us. We have been staying in Tahoe for 20 years. Sixteen of those years were with other agencies. We know Tahoe is wonderful. We know what other agencies are capable of just as we now see what Brandon is capable of. I'm sure he'll send my husband another text. If Brandon had spent the time and energy to take care of his renters that he has spent responding to bad reviews, he may not get bad reviews. BTW. The helpful score below is from my friends who know me to tell the truth.

Arrived at night so it made for a difficult time retrieving things from car. This place could use a renovation. We had to had several issue addressed. Only one phone and the cord was broken, lamp light bulb out, oven light had one bulb out with no replacement, dishwasher heating element for drying dishes did not work, and coffee machine broke during our stay and was replaced with one that had a completely different filter basket that you couldn't use with the cone filters provided. Pretty much a bust to try and make coffee with cone filters in a round basket. Everything we asked for took a while so we had to go to front desk for some items. The decor was worn and so was the furniture. So this place could use improvement in quite a few areas. I was also told that sales staff were aggressive personalities.

However, the initial booking challenges, due to the six-month advance requirement, we had to book two reservations. We so loved our initial spot for three days, and while the second location was just okay, the proximity to the lake--only five minutes away--made up for it. We book travel with our dog in mind and this resort offers a beautiful, dog-friendly beach section that offers ample space and a relaxed atmosphere. Our dog loved it. Nothing like the entire family at the beach. Of course-Always leave -no trace behind. The resort's amenities like paddle board, kayak, boat, and jet ski rentals are a great addition. Nice to see the many options. We, however- prefer bringing our own water toys. The stunning sunsets, shallow swimming areas, and crystal-clear water made for an idyllic retreat. We're eager to return, ideally securing one lovely desirable campsite. Special thank you to Daniel and Bobby for great service.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE! seriously…read more After finally staying at this place, i would expect them to at least "attempt" to make things better for me especially since they f-ed up my prior reservation and gave me all that bs for it. but NO.. instead they were oblivious to their own mistake and did not provide the hospitality they promised on their website. On the weekend we went up to tahoe (president's day weekend) there were huge traffic jams going up to tahoe, so i had called Tahoe Management Co letting them know i was going to be late. I was reassured that it was going to be okay and that someone will be there to give me the keys to the house no matter how late i was going to arrive... I was stuck in traffic for 10 hours so i did not arrive in Tahoe until 11:30 pm. With my phone running out of battery, gps dead, and two upset kids in the car we were NOT happy campers when we arrived at the office. What do we find at the office when we arrived? A EMPTY AND DARK OFFICE. WTF. On one of the doors it had a note about calling a number for after hours service. So with the limited amount of cell phone battery power we had left we called the number so we can get the code for the door to get to the key. .. it freaking took 25 minutes for them to answer the phone. WTF!!!!! By 15 minutes of calling i was ready to freaking take the nearest chunk of ice and bust that door open! What kind of after hour emergency service line takes freaking 25 minutes to answer?!?! When we arrived at the house, everything looked okay at first sight. But the sofa couch (which was suppose to sleep two) was janky, broken (the hinge completely fell off and was lopsided), and did not come with sheets and blankets. One thing i did not get about this house was, why is it that they can provide us with 30 pillows (no lie, one of the cabinets in the rooms had 15 pillows stuffed inside the drawers) but not enough blankets? There were questionable stains on some of the bedsheets and comforters (and quite frankly i did not want to know what the stains were. they were highly questionable!! The heater in the house works, but the only real place that gets any of the heat is the bathrooms. Once you turn it on, the bathroom heater will blow hot area on at full blast, but the rooms will only blow on low medium setting. WTF? After two hours of trying to figure out the heater system.. we gave up. The fully stocked kitchen with pots and pans they claimed they provided came with one mini frying pan (for cooking up individually sized scramble eggs) and one small pot (barely enough to even cook one box of pasta with the Teflon all scratched off on the bottom of the pot. They gave us five rolls of toilet paper for 11 people for 3 days. When we went to the office to get a new tank of propane fuel (which they didn't even deliever to us, we had to go and get it) the lady at the made a snotty face and said "that's something we should've brought when you first arrived!" ummm EXCUSE ME? we were suppose to bring our own toilet paper to a freaking cabin that we rented out ? Do you bring your own toilet paper to hotels? i think not! Granted she did give us another two more rolls but that comment really struck me in the wrong way! I would stay away from them if possible. There's plenty of other reputable rental companies out there where you can rent from. PLUS there ghetto bathroom sinks are NOT ATTACHED TO THE WALL!! my damn mac makeup brush fell thru the cracks and i have no way of getting to it.. freaking they owe me a freaking $32 makeup brush!

We were unpleasantly surprised with the following: Water stains and poor repairs on the living room ceiling. Both the kitchen sink and the upstairs restroom sink leaked. Serious dirty spots all over the carpets. Only one out of three telephone lines worked and there was no DSL/WiFi as described in the unit description. Ants in the lower restroom. On a positive note, the hot tub on the deck was a big plus! The management company did send someone out to fix the sinks on day two. The DSL/WiFi issue was never addressed, even after two calls to the management company. Not good as this was a big reason for choosing this unit. Oh, the management company did suggest Burger King down the street for free WiFi. Make sure the issues identified above have been resolved before booking 221 Clubhouse with this management company.

Visited in April so pool wasn't open but if visiting Tahoe in the summer, you'd be making a big mistake by not renting this house. The outdoor pool overlooking the lake is spectacular. Tony (the caretaker/landlord) is the man! Check-in was super easy and Tony was extremely flexible meeting us at the house for check-in and showing us the ropes. Tony was easygoing, friendly and really wanted to ensure everyone had a great time (we did). I would highly recommend this house for any large groups, but especially bachelor/bachelorette parties. Would also be more than suitable for family reunions, business meetings, etc., etc., etc. We were a group of eleven guys visiting for a bachelor party and everyone raved about the house. Other houses I've rented on VRBO have been super uptight about leaving the house absolutely spotless but Tony made check-out easy and reasonable. Took an hour on the morning of checkout to pick up and take out garbage and that was that. Additional bonuses include WiFi that works! And there are two WiFi networks so the entire house/property is covered wherever you go. It was also great to have two living/sleeping spaces separate from the main house (pool house and billiards room). If anyone in your party needs some peace and quiet or privacy, they can easily be accommodated. Overall, had an amazing time in Tahoe and spent a lot of time at the house just hanging with friends and taking in the spectacular views! And don't forget, Tony is reasonable and cares about your group enjoying themselves to the max. Thanks for a great time!

Nick not only set the house up for our arrival but was available for questions through the week. Helped us with the grill and fire pit. Felt like family when we left. I felt so at home without having to run out and get everyday items. Thank you to this awesome owner! The beds were comfortable (no divots from being old) the pillows were a bit big but I borrowed one from the guest bedroom and it was fine. The bathroom is amazing with heated floors and great water pressure. Large bathtub in master had jets but unfortunately I did not have time!! The backyard was great for grilling and sitting out by the fire pit. The private beach was charming for sunsets. The fireplace has temp controls so only on when you need it. Place was magnificent! Stay Away - Horrendous and Unsafe…read more This property was a complete nightmare, and I can't stress enough how terrible the experience was. Every bad review you see on this platform is absolutely spot on--believe them. Here's what we went through: 1. Blood Everywhere: The absolute worst part of our stay was finding dried blood all over the bathroom. It wasn't a small area--it was in multiple places, creating a serious biohazard. This is beyond disgusting and extremely unsafe. No one should ever have to deal with this on vacation or at any rental property. 2. Neglected Cleaning: When the cleaner finally arrived, she admitted she hadn't cleaned the property in two weeks, and she hadn't washed the blankets in that time either. It was shocking. She also mentioned that the owner underpays and overworks her, which clearly explains the horrible state of the place. The owner doesn't care about cleanliness, safety, or the well-being of their staff. 3. Plumbing Issues: The downstairs shower didn't drain, and on top of that, water was leaking into the bar area. We had to constantly clean up to prevent further damage. Do yourself a favor and avoid this property at all costs. It's not just dirty--it's downright dangerous. The owner's neglect and mistreatment of their staff only make it worse. We are demanding compensation for this disaster of a stay. Every bad review on this platform is absolutely correct--stay far away.
