As a parent and someone who has practiced TaeKwonDo myself, I've come to deeply appreciate what The…read moreOne TaeKwonDo offers. From the moment we joined, I knew we had found something special. This school is not only a place for martial arts training but a space where students are genuinely nurtured, respected and inspired to grow. My son came in with prior TaeKwonDo experience but what he found here was more meaningful than simply continuing his practice. The instructors are incredibly encouraging and know how to bring out the best in each student. They are able to push and motivate without being overly strict, which is a rare and beautiful quality in martial arts instruction. Their guidance is rooted in support, and it shows in how excited and confident my son feels after every class. What touches me most about this school is the environment it creates. It goes beyond just teacher and student. There is a real sense of community here, something that feels much closer to a family. The students are treated with care and attention, and the respect flows both ways. It is clear that the instructors see and value each child not only for their potential in TaeKwonDo, but as people. I came from a more traditional background in TaeKwonDo. One rooted in old-school methods that were strict and, at times, even harsh. That approach instilled discipline and resilience, and for that, I am thankful. But being at The One TaeKwonDo has opened my eyes to the strength of a different way. This more modern, compassionate approach to teaching doesn't compromise on excellence. In fact, it brings out a deeper and more sustainable love for the art. It's shown me that structure and discipline can absolutely coexist with encouragement and empathy. There is profound power in this way of teaching too. I'm especially grateful for how understanding and considerate they were when it came to helping us with my son's gear. They made it easier for us to get what he needed without placing pressure or urgency on us. Their kindness in that moment is forever treasured. It was handled with such calm and respect and that gesture will always stay with me. Master Kyra is an incredible presence at the heart of the school. She's always approachable, consistently kind and carries herself with such calm strength that I've found myself hesitating to reach out as I'm worried I might be bothering her; only to be met with the same warmth and patience every single time. She makes time for every concern and never loses her warmth. It is clear that she leads not only with skill and experience but with genuine care. Her dedication sets a powerful example for everyone around her. Master David brings a steady strength and quiet wisdom that perfectly complements the atmosphere of the school. Together, their leadership shapes a place that truly uplifts. The younger instructors, too, show impressive skill and maturity. They are not only technically knowledgeable but they also bring patience, positivity and a real attentiveness to the students especially the younger ones. It's inspiring to see such heart in all of them. You can see it in every class, in every correction offered and in every smile shared. From a practitioner's perspective, I can see that the structure of their program is thoughtful and effective. It's well-paced and balanced, challenging without overwhelming, and it encourages progress in both physical ability and personal discipline. Watching my son flourish here has reminded me of why I fell in love with TaeKwonDo in the first place. It has even inspired me to consider returning to my own training. To Master Kyra, Master David and the entire team at The One TaeKwonDo, thank you. Thank you for creating something so much more than a martial arts school. Thank you for giving students a place to grow not only as martial artists but as people. Your work is meaningful and lasting and I am deeply grateful for the impact you have had on my son and on me.

Hi All, I just…read morewanted to throw a recommendation out for a tremendous organization that's just around the corner. TK Tae Kwon Do is a little Martial Arts Studio tucked in the corner of the strip mall on the corner of Newhall Ranch Road and Bouquet Canyon next to CVS Pharmacy. My son is 4 and has been there for about a year now. I can't express enough the effect it has had on his confidence and his discipline; his respect for adults and his overall physicality. It isn't just the Martial Arts. The people who run this place are exceptional with children and don't just teach a fighting style. Every day they teach these kids to obey their parents; stay focused and organized and humble and to respect God and Country. Yesterday at their belt test ceremony, they took specific time to review kids grades from school and called up and celebrated those with excellent marks and work ethic. This is a place of discipline, encouragement and appreciation for the humble and diligent. I would urge anyone with kids ranging from 3 years old and up to sincerely consider this place. These people are something special. For what it's worth.

TK Taekwondo Santa Clarita and the one in Canyon Country are definitely worth trying. Master Andrew from the Santa Clarita studio is amazing! he's so patient with all the students, and also expects the best from them each, he's funny when the students need him to be and he redirects them to ensure they're succeeding. Master Sung from the Canyon Country studio is also great! They both know exactly how to speak to each student based on their age and abilities, they're amazing at what they do! Our son started at 3.5yrs old and he's now 5 yrs old. Our son loves Master Andrew and is proud of all he learns by sharing with his friends and family each time he gets. We have seen kids come in so shy and nervous, to shinny bright and confident in their abilities. It's so beautiful seeing all the young kids gaining their confidence and learning to be respectful. The young instructors are all equally important and amazing, it's such a team effort and the leadership speaks for itself I can go on highly recommend at least doing the 1 class to test and see what it's all about. Very clean, wonderful instructors, and can't speak enough about Master Andrew, he's truly great!

He joined last year, and since then he's also started Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu--and the growth we've seen in him has been incredible. He's much more confident now than when he first started, and seeing him walk into class proud, motivated, and excited is something I'll never take for granted. Because of how positive and welcoming the environment is, my partner and I decided to join the dojo as well. From day one, we felt supported and encouraged. Master Prager is genuinely kind, patient, and amazing with kids. He leads with care and respect, and it truly shows in the students. The other instructors and coaches are just as amazing--always friendly, helpful, and encouraging us every step of the way. One of the most meaningful parts of our experience has been the sense of community. I've made real friendships with other parents as well as with the people in my adult class. We truly share a love for martial arts and a desire to help each other improve, grow, and succeed. That kind of support and connection is rare and incredibly special. The Edge Martial Arts is more than just a dojo--it's a community that builds confidence, discipline, and genuine relationships. We feel lucky to be part of it and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a positive, uplifting place for themselves or their family. It's a place I truly believe in and want to see continue to grow.
