The tacos here were decent. I had the asada, al pastor, lengua and cabeza. Unfortunately they ran out of suadero. The lengua was soft, the cabeza was nice and braised, the asada was decent and seasoned. The al pastor was probably the best out of the bunch so far. It had a nice char and juiciness and it was tender with good flavor. My friends had the al pastor burrito and found it to be great. The salsa rojo is probably the hottest out of the bunch there. I HATE making negative reviews, but unfortunately my gf and brought her mom to enjoy the tacos since she lives in the area and has never tried them. She even brought tacos home for me, but I'm grateful to have not been home to eat them yet. She told me that the service was very different from the last time we were there. The person taking the orders was exceptionally rude and mumbled some curse words to her under her breath. She wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt since it looked like she may had been angry at a different customer but she was taking it out on my gf. We've driven by this street too so many times. The location is near our home. The smell good aroma fills the air and it looked like a vibe. Yesterday we decided to check it out. My man loves a good burrito and is always on the lookout Service was fast and the young man was pleasant and friendly. They had tacos de trompo with juices slowly basting the food as it slowly turned. Fascinating! Two grills with hot coals cooking chariso which were them moved to another flat grill The smells were delicious. So the burrito was 10, juicy with lots of Asada, beans, rice and sauce. Large portion. Do not eat from this stand! We got badddd food poisoning. My daughter and I stopped by here after a trip to Home Depot last night and it was the worst decision ever. I usually love frequenting different taco stands in LA. I also have an iron stomach! Last night, I nearly crapped my pants after having some al pastor quesotacos from here. I've heard of this happening to people but this was my first time lol. I should have known when the salsas were next to the hot grill and had no ice in them that they knew nothing about food safety. Also the pickled onions with habaneros which I usually love, tasted off like the onions had gone bad so I threw it away. They didn't have ice underneath either. The music was blasting so loud that he got my order wrong and had to remake it which was fine but just making a note on the ambience. My daughter only had the meat from 3 of the al pastor tacos and one bite of the quesadilla which she hated because the tortilla was too thick and the cheese wasn't melted properly. About an hour or two later, I started feeling really sick. Thought I overate, so went for a short walk to digest. Literally 3 minutes into my walk, I started feeling extreme stomach pain. I almost didn't make it home to get to the toilet on time. We both laid on the couch feeling crappy, and went to sleep. My daughter then woke up in the middle of the night complaining she felt nauseous. Well, I just finished cleaning projectile vomit speckled in last night's al pastor from my floors, walls, and doors. A 4 only because I need to actually try the food. Here's what impressed me: 1. The set up was immaculate, super organized, clean and meticulous. You could tell these folks care about their business and take it as serious as they would with a storefront. 2. They home made their tortillas. The batter was right there plus the wooden tortilla maker and the metal crank roller thing to flatten it! This was my fav feature next to their name and the sign. Great job branding without spending big loot. 3. They have everything you need, but go early as there's always a line. 4. Parking is easy. Tacos were great! They moved pretty fast for such a long line too. My recommendation is the torta of the tacos. Asada and pastor.

I've driven by a few times and seen the Al pastor roasting on the spit. It was too tempting to pass up today, and I got to give it a try for dinner. I was not disappointed! They roll out the tortillas fresh as you order them and then toss them on the grill. I ordered four tacos: asada, Al pastor, pollo, and suadero (pork). My favorite was the Al Pastor, but they were all very flavorful and packed full of meat. Tacos go for $2.50 a piece, so slightly more expensive than your typical taco truck, but well worth it considering the size of the tacos. You can pay with cash or Venmo. They are no longer in Westchester but behind the Home Depot on Jefferson near Beethoven. When I say these tacos are the business they really are. Would I love is that they don't charge 4-5 bucks for one taco plus it's pretty freaking huge so you get bang for your buck. All the tortillas are handmade right in front of you nothing store bought. I get the lengua everytime which is also freshly cooked and made to order. Everyone is always so nice and the flavor is out of this world. I always top my taco off with the avocado salsa. I go at least twice a week and they never disappoint. When I'm not in a rush I will definitely try the burrito. If you're looking for probably the best tacos in LA look no further Tacos Ortiz is worth the trying out. read more

There are 3 reasons why this is a good deal...1) they make their own tortillas when you order, 2) the sizes of the tacos are slightly bigger than your regular street vendor tacos, and 3) they were really good!
