I was looking for something to tide me over until Enchiladas Doña Lupe opens for dinner, and this…read morewas both highly rated and close--and far cheaper (and faster) than other highly rated options.
It was a little hard to find--Yelp's location marker was off, and it wasn't in Plaza San Fernando like it seemed (I edited it, so hopefully they approve the edit). Google had it a block over but had it marked as permanently closed. I took a chance and went over a block and voila! The same lady that's in one of the photos on Yelp!
I ordered one gordita and one tlacoyo (it's in their name, so it must be good). Good heavens. How rich and satisfying and flavorful! The red sauce was to die for!
I'm sitting across from it and debating ordering more, but I am attempting (in vain) to exercise moderation, and the enchilada place opens in a couple hours, so I'll probably hold off. But I don't want to!
Well worth the trouble to find. If Yelp's location marker isn't fixed, it's across the street from the northeast corner of Templo de San Roque (the street might be called Roque, but I'm not sure).
Edit: I got two more. How could I not??
