The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated. Honestly, it may be the cleanest restaurant in Little Rock. Feeding three people for $38.38 also feels incredible in today's world. I ordered the Catrina Bowl ($10.95) with half chicken and half chorizo. It was great: fresh ingredients, generous portions, and plenty of flavor. With a place like this so close, why go to Moe's or Chipotle? The Loco Burrito ($10.95) was spot-on too well-portioned and flavorful. The kid ordered fries, which you probably wouldn't expect to be the highlight at a Mexican restaurant, but they were good enough to make the kids happy. No one's perfect, and I save five stars for life-changing restaurants, not just places that are better than average. Catrina Taqueria is absolutely worth a stop. Go support a local restaurant!

Unfortunately, mine was not great. In my first bite, I got a chunk of barbacoa that was straight fat. Then my second bite was the same exact way. I started shuffling through to find all of the fat- it turned out to be every single piece of meat. I would say it was 99% fat and 1% meat. The other thing I didn't realize was that it was mixed with chorizo. This wasn't mentioned on the menu as an option. I don't enjoy chorizo, so I was very disappointed that they were mixed. The nachos also had barely any cheese on them. Oh and they don't offer fountain water, so you do have to pay for bottled water. It's on 99 cents, but they don't tell you beforehand. Overall, very upsetting experience.

Tamales aren't a very popular thing where I reside so I am not too familiar. I did do my research before this trip, however, and I know that it is somewhat of a thing in this area, unless I am full of shit. I am glad I had the opportunity to sample them. I was very pleased to see they had some vegetarian options. I ordered the tamales plate: i chose a beans & cheese as well as a spinach & cheese. Not one, but TWO vegetarian options? Get out. I also ordered a side order of beans. You know what traveling does to the digestive system. They were VERY tasty. It was nothing crazy but satisfying. I was a lil disappointed that there was no sauce to speak of, for some reason I got that impression from the photos or description or something. The beans were also enjoyable. GF ordered Tony's Ramen Birria and felt that it was "just ok". I'm glad I was able to try this, it's tasty.
