I ordered lunch from here. I had the Carne Asada tacos and they were good. I had to wait on hold for a while and they didn't really seem to be organized for curbside pickup (even though that's all they do now) so that wasn't good. This place can easily be a 5 star, but they need to stop marinating the carne asada or offer a regularly seasoned steak taco. IMO this meat needs to have a char on it. Not going to get that with marinated wet meat. Simpler is better sometimes. As far as everything else, the quality of the food is great! You can tell this place wants to put out high quality food. The al pastor and shrimp tacos are delicious! Tortilla soups still needs some work. It tastes too much like tomato soup. The guacamole is really good. The tortillas need more time on the heat. Churros are good. Rice was really good but the portion is tiny. A few tweaks and this place will go from good to great. I'm hoping they stop marinating the steak. This would be my lunch spot for sure if they offered traditional steak tacos. I'll be sure to check in at a later time to see if they worked out the kinks. Update: October 2018 Went back with a coworker. Found another great item. The jalapeños are awesome. Sliced, battered and deep fried. They taste pickled so they have a nice tangy taste. Actually threw some in the taco and it was great. Tried the steak taco again. Wasn't as dry as last time so the food keeps getting better. Also tried the chorizo queso fundido. It was only ok. Still prefer the al pastor and shrimp tacos. I originally rated this a 4 star, but the quality of food is so good, I'm changing it to a 5 star. read more

Ok straight up these are some of the best tacos on the planet. Our go-to's are the beer battered fish, blackened fish, crispy camarones, al pastor, and chorizo con queso fundido. Unbelievable flavors, plus the tortillas are so damn good. The salsas they include...amazing. The churros...holy F. I could eat this every day, and will likely start to once we live closer. Oh yeah, killer guac. Literally everthing here is amazing. Order the whole menu. Just do it. Their tacos are jam-packed with flavorful, fresh food. The tacos were so large, they looked like mini burritos. We had basically one of each type of taco and they were all so good. Hmmmm! Tacos! Excellent little Street Taco Place! Great taco options, nice atmosphere and the food was excellent. I had the Carne Asada and Pastor Taco, order of Fried Plantains and Churros. All very good. Two tacos was enough to fill you up. The plantains were real good. The Churros were nice and warm with chocolate dipping sauce. The place is a little small and got crowded quick with the lunch rush. My only suggestion would be to make some combo deals. Each taco is sold separately. Chips and salsa are also separate. Not a big complaint as the two tacos plus plantains and Churros ran me around $12. Definitely a place to go back to! read more

Wow! I'm not sure why it took my family so long to try Taco Vida, but we will be back...probably later this week! Between us, we tried 4 different tacos (pollo, carne asada, pastor, chorizo) and drooled over each one. I was also pleasantly surprised with the vegetarian refried beans- they were amazing! I can't quite put my finger on the seasoning, but I'll keep ordering it until I figure it out. My husband got the elote, which we both really enjoyed. I have a strong aversion to mayonnaise, but their elote had just enough to hold it all together. I wasn't expecting much flavor from a place in Deerfield, and when I saw the tacos were under $4 each I was expecting two, three bites per item, maximum. This place reminds me of an expensive food truck. Good food, slow service, loud noise and cramped area to eat. The staff was polite and courteous, really good at cleaning off tables but at 7pm on a Monday this place was PACKED. Ordering was a bit complicated as the menu is on the left as you come in, so you have to look it over and then turn around to look at it again while ordering from the counter, with the loud noise from multiple patrons, it made ordering a bit complicated. I would suggest having some printed menus available for customers and or moving the menu above the register, and maybe keeping just the "specials" on the left side. After waiting about 20-25 minutes to get the tacos...i finally got to take them home and eat them! They were pretty damn tasty, and the hot sauce they provided was delicious. Though the specialty taco was in my opinion not worth the $5, I preferred the normal tacos flavor and taste... and price of $3. These are also small tacos, but pretty packed. This is a gem! Every choice we have made on the menu has been excellent. Tonight we each had a tuna taco and we shared a side order of 1/2 refried beans and 1/2 Mexican rice. The beans are black beans perfectly done. Rounding out the meal was a small guacamole (medium is not spicy) with fresh warm chips. Be sure to ask for one green salsa and one red. The red is pretty spicy. This was a perfect amount of food for the two of us but we are not big eaters. We recommend eating on the tiny front patio so that you can enjoy while warm! read more
