We visited a Taco Time for the first time ever. The manager directly took our order. He was friendly and our order was served in a timely manner. A female employee delivered our food to our table, literally dropped it onto the table. Then we watched as this same female staff member blatantly ignored an Asian family for at least 15-20 minutes. She offered to take the order of the white couple behind the family. The white couple insisted that the Asian family was there first and to wait on them. She ignored the direction and continued to ignore the family. The family attempted to use the automated ordering, but had difficulty. The man stepped up to the register again to place an order in person. The female employee still didn't wait on him. Eventually, the female employee came to the register and said "you couldn't use the computer? I'll take your order, but I'm very very busy." She seemed super annoyed with the customer. I was disgusted by the blatant racism and reported it to the manager before I left the restaurant. Very disappointed by the female staff member. Please work on some diversity training with your staff. read more

This location has been rather good with me, but last night I went there and got two items. A crispy burrito (try that, it's great) and a soft shell taco with no lettuce and no tomato. What I got was a crispy burrito (yum) and a bunch of lettuce wrapped in a shell. I had to search for the meat. Seriously, thats on the same level of meat as a taco bell taco. $6 and I got mostly lettuce that I never asked for and there was no ranch/sour cream sauce (think that's what it is, or just ranch) either? Taco Time is the type of restaurant that, on paper, merits a loyal customer base: local roots, fresh ingredients of a higher quality than the competition, compostable, etc. However, this last visit convinced me that all of that adds up to gimmicks used to cover up overpriced mediocrity. I bought the soft chicken burrito combo meal at a cost of $11.76, which gives you a medium sized soda, a decent portion of mexi-fries, and a small burrito. There are two issues here: quantity and value. At that price, there should be more. The quantity provided should cost less. For less than that, I can go to the local taco truck and get something twice as big and better quality, or to Red Robin and have a real sit down meal. People go to fast food places for convenience and value. While the quality was fine, there was no value in the meal. I felt cheated when I saw what I got for almost $12, next time I'll go to a taco truck. read more

The Factoria Taco Time was recently remodeled, going from a run down 90's look to their nicest store around. I wonder if having Chipotle across the parking lot has something to do with it - a battleground of faux mexican kinda environmentally friendly fast food. Aside from a new style, this Taco Time also features a new Jones soda dispenser rather than the usual Coke freestyle and a couple aguas frescas. The latter I didn't try but was excited to see for another time. Food wise Taco Time is totally inauthentic but actually has some great dishes. Enchilada platter and nachos are fantastic and a bargain compared to a family mexican restaurants. Tacos are tasty but totally different than from a taqueria. Cilantro lime chicken salad is really good if you're keeping it healthy. On the environmental side Taco Time takes a different approach than Chipotle. Taco Time focuses on local sourcing, real plates for some dishes, and composting while Chipotle focuses on how the food is grown (non-GMO, antibiotics, pasture raised, etc) but racks of a lot of trash. Which one is better? Who knows. I'd love to see Taco Time step up the action on how their meat is raised. But in the end - nice place, tasty food, cheap and fast. read more

I am utterly grateful that I can wake up with a raging hangover and casually think to myself "How can I make my body suffer even more?" Oh I KNOW...Hot tater tots with salsa. And a beef stick. I cannot blame friends. They don't even have to talk me into this. I'm so shameless....sigh. Now, my other favorite hangover + foodie cure is dim sum. This is like the opposite of dim sum. Taco Time is greasy, not that fresh (despite what their ads say), and inspired by way south of the border. It's good to have variety in life, haha :P I think their tater tots make me feel nostalgic. They are exactly like the ones they served during my K-6th grade years. They're crispy, served hot, kinda oily, salted, bad for me...But oh so good for me. Their "beef stick" as I like to call it, is actually a "Crisp Burrito." You can get bean/beef/chicken. I tried the chicken one once. Never again. I didn't like it. It tasted too "mayonnaisey." I rarely eat fast food, and came here sadly after discovering that the place I'd been intending to go (Cucina Presto) apparently no longer exists. As Taco time's go this is probably one of the nicest I've been to. The food is well made and fresh tasting and my coworker and I often debate Taco Time VS Del Taco or Taco Bell. And we agree Taco Time usually wins because cilantro chicken salad is his favorite. I just prefer simple fast tacos. Having said that the customer service at this location is impressive and responsive and friendly. I know it's just fast food but I do like it when I am in the Northwest and I do respect their commitment to composting and all that . Anyway for the money and speed it's a decent place. Food is just fine. Problem is with the service! There were five people in the restaurant that worked there, and one customer, me. It took literally five minutes to get two tacos and mexi fries! The person making The food thought it was more important to organize all the trays! They finished the Mexi-fries and the woman making food didn't have the tacos going at the same time. she waited until the manager told her to make them. i was the ONLY order...That doesn't make them fresh it just means that you could've been doing them at the same time. So fast food turns into slow Food as she organizes trays, while three other guys figure out how to set the thermometer on one of the ovens. The name of this place sounds too much like "Taco Town", the parody from SNL. The food is terrible and the ingredients low grade. The salsa is gelatinous joke. Wow food NOT FRESH with super poor service. One of my favorite spots to eat for years, but the last three times I've been in past four months has consistently been regrettable. Food takes close to 10 mins to arrive and not even fresh, like it's been sitting out the whole time ready to be served. Place was not even busy at all. I gave a couple tacos back to be replaced with something fresh. Kid working today came back with the same ones and nonchalantly said the new batch that just came out are exactly the same but these are only hotter b/c they microwaved them. Really? FRESH has been Taco Time's M.O. and his fix was to proudly microwave my issue? I was with my mom so i didn't pop off. I didn't recognize either kids working today. There are over 100 drink combinations to choose from, I selected Peach Sprite. As far as the food review... I ordered #3 Soft Taco Meal - Chicken comes with Chicken Soft Taco (4 stars) and tater tots (4 stars) and peach sprite, my combination selection (5 stars) You can hate on me for giving my peach sprite 5 stars, but just go ahead and hate. Ambiance The restaurant was clean (as usual) in all aspects (however I didn't use the bathroom). The ordering counter was clutter free with no visible spills, the soda fountain machine had some ice overflow when I first got my drink, but they cleaned it up by the time I got my refill. The table where we ate our food was clean and the napkin holder was full of napkins. Food on point as always as you can expect from a fast food joint. we are talking value here, seven bucks for a full lunch and delicious drink. other the cool drink fountain is what will keep bringing me back (every once-in-a-while, fast food isn't very good for you). read more

The service is really nice here unlike mentioned by some reviewers. The food is just too bland for me and way overpriced. Fast food is supposed to be cheap. The whole point of calling it "fast" is to have it quickly at a reasonable price. I would have rather eaten at a proper dine in restaurant for $5 more than what I paid here for 2 people. I didn't go inside the restaurant, just went through the drive-thru and ended up VERY disappointed with the food. I had never been to a Taco Time before, but saw a bunch of commercials with people (erhm, paid actors) talking about how fresh the ingredients are and the food looked decent enough for fast food. I was sincerely hoping that a TT would be a good replacement for Del Taco which I do enjoy as fast food Mexican, but it's not even close. Bland, strange, ambiguous white sauce... no thanks! I am just now reading reviews talking about Mexi-Fries and I'm thinking maybe... *maaaayyyybe* if I'm ever wanting to go on a fry adventure I'd try these, but I like the Fatburger fries just fine and I'm sure I could go somewhere else that had other food I could eat besides just fries that would be better. This is regarding my previous review -- the address I got to reply to corporate response requires registering my email from a few choices. Do not wish to do so. I have since used my second comp card (which I used at the horrible location in Factoria). This time I went thru drive thru and absolutely no problems. It's the customer service inside that is poor. The cleanliness is very poor inside as well. When I was waiting for my food, I was watching the staff work. Low-luster to put it mildly. The one lady that came out to the lobby to deliver food to customers moved very slow, and didn't even look around at the mess as it was. Disgusting. Employees need a new trainer. In my quest to review all of the restaurants in Factoria, this is next on my list. As with all fast food, you get consistency and know what you'll get. I have good memories of the crisp meat burrito as a kid, and the preparation and consistency is the same that I remember. Hot sauce - exactly the same. I've moved on to the crisp chicken burrito and can't believe I've missed it all this time. Whenever I'm in a "healthy" mood, I get the Chicken Tostada Salad with Ranch. Yes, I'm not that healthy, but I feel like I'm getting more of a balanced meal instead of everything deep fried. Perhaps I should walk here from work instead of driving 3 blocks. I love this location because I always seem to have the same drive thru staff, and they're all nice and fun. Not to mention they never forget my request to hold the tomato on all items I consume. The food is your usual Taco Time fare - WestMex with dressing on soft tacos that non-natives don't understand. it's tasty and a PNW original, so I'm not complaining. Food was pretty good. I'm from Texas so nothing's like home. But our first visit to this location was absolutely a night for us to remember. We moved here from Texas 2 months ago and on the day we moved into our house (1 month ago) we were exhausted, hungry and very emotional. In Texas fast food places are open til at least midnight so we thought it'd be similar here. Well...no. We had 1 kiddo with car sickness, 1 kiddo so exhausted he wasn't hungry, and then we were just frazzled when we got out of the car and walked up to the door it looked like they were closing. 2 employee's were at the door and I asked if they were closed. They said yes...i dropped my head and turned around to my husband holding our sleeping 4 yr old and said they're closed. That's when I heard it.....the lady said you know what come on in. I seriously started crying (I'm holding tears back just typing this). They even let us eat inside. She said it was month end (5/31/13) and they'll be there a while anyway. I can't express how happy I was but that was our first experience here in Washington and I was very pleased. read more

Love the new location and easier drive thru. Did not eat inside but it looked very nice. Burritos are smaller than they used to be, I think the prices went up just a tinnnny bit too. If you are a Coke product fan, you'll be as disappointed as I was to find out they no longer service Coke products. The only thing they have is Jones soda. I figured I would give it a shot. Nope, not good Probably wouldn't deter me from going here but I won't add soda to my order anymore. I'm scratching my head as to why they would make this change. Other than that the service was friendly and they got my food right. Update: I must not have been the only one that didn't like Jones soda. This review is NOT about Taco Time's food. LOVE their food. This review is about the renovated space. To quote my husband, "The SCCA waiting room has more ambiance than this new space." Too bright and cold. The lighting is harsh and the walls are stark white. Gives me a 'cafeteria' feeling, except a whole lot of wasted space (up). Just got taco time and I live 5 minutes away but when I got home everything was soggy due to their extremely very very wet lettuce. Tried to call them but couldn't get through, for the price you pay you should at least be able to eat something worth eating!!!
