Now, I'm a little biased and spoiled perhaps, as I grew up two hours from the Mexican border and ate a lot of tacos growing up - and still do. The tacos here are not in any way like a traditional Mexican street taco. They are more akin to Taco Bell (which is not at all traditional Mexican food - and not very good). I got two tacos here. Both had very little meat. They weren't very tasty, and they were loaded with lettuce and grated cheese. The flour tortillas were oversized, so each bite felt like mostly tortilla.
I would recommend that the owners watch some YouTube videos on how to make Carnitas, Al Pastor, Carne Asada, etc. Learn how to make corn tortillas from scratch (it's easy). And then make a couple real Mexican salsas - again, the internet is full of great Mexican recipes. It's not hard.
The place is very clean, you can sit outside, and the employees were friendly. So, I'll give them that.
If you really like Taco Bell beef soft tacos, then maybe you'll like these. They're very similar. They didn't work for me though - I almost wanted to ask the owner if I could come in the back and make some carnitas and salsas with her and show her how it's done. read more
