The atmosphere which is created here does not seem very Mexican. The music isn't Mexican, or even Latin! The decor is strictly Guzman Y Gomez, which means that it isn't Mexican either. (As I finished writing this review, the music changed. Latin music at last!) The food was tasty enough, but food which I have previously eaten hot (at other Mexican fast food places both in the USA and in Australia) was today served at room temperature. I'm not sure why that is, but it didn't win any brownie points with me. My drink was barely cold, and on this warm day, didn't stay cold for long. The redeeming feature of the restaurant for me today was the service by the two people who were "on duty". They were patient, friendly, and helpful. I have never seen this place more than half full. Today I understand why.

Waited at the counter (store was empty) and watched as the 4 staff members present, bickered about who was to serve me. All coming up with an excuse or outright acting if I was an inconvenience to them, I was shocked. When someone finally relented and decided to serve, they did not appear to know what products they sell at all, service was incredibly slow, not fast and efficient as it had once been (2015 and 2016). The manner in which the staff act was atrocious, instead of refilling the napkin dispensers, they would just leave a bag of napkins next to it, certainly hoping the customers would do the rest themselves. The store was dirty and nobody was making an effort to clean anything, empty cider bottles were laying around and tables were dirty, yet none of the 4 teenagers serving thought that was an issue. Instead they were content to stay behind the counter and talk amongst themselves. As a regular customer of Zambreros (2013 -2018) I am deeply disappointed in how far you've fallen. Hire more competent, mature and responsible staff. With your direct competition right across the road, I will be talking with my feet.
