Visited this restaurant on a Saturday. Parking is tight and often limited. The restaurant has a few…read moretables and chairs but mostly booths. The customer service was good. Upon getting a booth they quickly took our order, brought us our drinks and shortly after our food. They do not offer complimentary chips and salsa like most of the restaurants in the area. The price is also a lot higher than those that do charge for it. With your taco order you get a plate of limes, pickled onions, grilled onions and grilled peppers. I ordered asada tacos and they were full of meat with cilantro and onion. They also offer dinner plates with rice and beans. The rice and beans are nothing special and could have gone without ordering them. The hot sauce options they bring out are great. We love the green but the red is just as good. They have a nice kick! We will definitely be back!

I tried to give them an opportunity to make things right before coming to reviews but just left even more angry. Last time I ordered I ordered no onions and specified its due to an allergy and the onions were added anyways. Simple mistake were all human. It was what happened when I called to nicely talk about it the woman who answered hung up on me and when I called back she picked up the phone and sat it down and I speak enough Spanish to know she was in the background talking spit about me. So then I reached out via their website and was ignored. Then today I called and explained what happened and that I was willing to give them a second chance and the lady told me it would be ready in 10 minutes without apologizing to me. Then I get there 20 minutes later and my they didnt even have a receipt for my order and hadnt started on it. Still charged me full price and refused to apologize and when I pointed that out the staff literally pretended like I wasnt there or speaking and then a few minutes later they handed me my food and I once again pointed out no one apologized but you guessed it was ignored again. Im very vocal about supporting local businesses in social media and believe me all of west michigan will be hearing about all this disrespect. Wonder if theyd pass a health inspection? I gave them multiple chances and never raised my voice or anything. The empty tip jar makes way more sense. A good business would've made it right initially not hung up and ignored me and continued to treat me horrible. Ill tell every person who will give me a moment of their time about this experience and be posting on all my social media platforms. No comped food or even an apology like wtf is happened to this place?

For a delicious, speedy lunch, Tamales Mary is the way to go. Within seconds of sitting down, an…read moreemployee brought out my plate of tamales. No complaints here, as the tamales were fresh and hot. I tried the three vegetarian offerings of the day--pepper and cheese, black beans and cheese, and jalapeño and cheese--plus a pineapple tamale. All were superb, especially with the slathering of some salsas on the savory tamales. I was really pleased that I could see and taste all of the ingredients. Since it was hot and humid outside, the paletas were calling to me. Peering into the freezer, I saw a nice variety of flavors, such as mangonada, tamarind, nance, and cookies and cream. I opted for the mangonada, and it was refreshing and luscious. 10/10 would get again. (Note: these weren't made in-house. The paletas came from a biz in Kalamazoo.)

I also really love their salsa, and they provide both a green and red one. Loved that their salsas come in convenient packets and they even have their logo! The pricing is very reasonable for the quality and portion size of the tamales. Just a heads up: it can get busy during peak times (especially Fridays and Saturdays), so expect a bit of a wait. They offer more than just tamales too--there's a full sit-down menu with other Mexican dishes if you're looking for a full meal. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or dining in, this place never disappoints

The menu is large and it was a bit busy and chaotic inside, so I just went with some of my standards: an asada taco and a barbacoa quesadilla. I also ordered a small jamaica (hibiscus drink). They also have a cooler with Jarritos and canned pop. Our food was brought out to us at our table and everything looked delicious! The steak was tender and flavorful and the tortillas were fresh. I really liked the quesadilla--it was a generous portion and had plenty of meat. I'm really glad I got to try this spot and I'd love to come back. I think they do a taco deal on Mondays. I want to try their chilaquiles!

But it was very cold inside!! You order at the counter and they serve the food. The service is great! There is an array of items you can order from and on weekends they order specialty options like Menudo. They also offer catering. Once you're done you pay at the register. Note you do pay more per item if you use a card and the fees add up! Bring cash! We had the asada taco dinner - tacos were good but the rice and beans were very bland. I loved the tortillas! We also ordered chips and salsa which was around $8 you pay for the chips and salsa separately. We were not a fan of the salsas heavy garlic flavor but that's just our personal preference. The chips were warm and seasoned! We also ordered the chorizo and papa pambazo which was amazing and not soggy at all! We ordered an asada torta as well and the bread was toasted perfectly but overall it lacked flavor. I wanted to try the queso chili relleno but they forgot to bring that. If you want an agua fresca they did seem to be popular as everyone was ordering them. We had the cucumber one and enjoyed it! Overall we paid $45 for everything which is similar to prices elsewhere. I loved the customer service here too! Everyone was so nice and welcoming. I do recommend a visit!
