Such a shame ...
In short: good food, terrible waiters (for the most).
We made a reservation long before (3 weeks?), but they couldn't find our reservation when we arrived. We got seated anyway.
I immediately noticed they had quite some interesting beers and ordered an Achel Blond as appetizer. The waitress didn't understand me, and didn't know the beer either. I had to go over to the bar and point at the beer. I got the beer ... in the wrong glass ... and it was more than a year past expiration date. No biggy, I often drink old beers, but they should check their stock or warn their customers about the expiration date.
The wine/water glasses we got had been in the dishwasher one too many times.
At a certain point there was not a single waitress around to clean the tables or take orders. Hold on, there WAS a waitress, but she sat down chatting with some other customers. It took ages before our table was cleaned and before we could order something else.
To be honest, there was one waiter (I think the owner) who was friendly, and came to check if everything was ok.
When we finally got the check, the change was thrown onto the table. The waitress didn't even look at us. When we left I tried to make eye contact with anyone from the staff, but once again, it was as if we weren't there.
Keep the chef, and change the waiters please. read more
